Don’t Be Naive, Rebecca

Don’t Be Naive, Rebecca

"Breaking news, ladies and gentlemen. I'm Rebecca Chambers, reporting on the viral protest taking place. I'm here with the local union leader, Sally Kinsey."

"What's your plan, Sally?"

"Hi Rebecca, so far, we've blocked all the hyperloop entrances and orbital shipping launching bays. We're organizing around the planet. All the world's major supply chains will stop until they meet our demands."

"Which are?"

"100% free education, free food, free medical, and free housing. The CEOs are all trillionaires now, ever since they started mining asteroids, and they don't pay us enough, so we demand a basic standard of living. So many of our people live in their vehicles or with multiple families cramped in affordable housing units."

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

"That's terrible, Sally; wait, what is that?" Rebecca pointed at an arriving convoy.

"What is … what? Oh my." Sally stared with her mouth agape.

"Viewers, as you can see, there's a large convoy of auto-trucks that has stopped. Oh wow! Look what's coming out of them. Who are they, Sally? They almost look human."

"Androids, Rebecca! They threatened us with them. We didn't believe they'd actually do it."

"Do what exactly, Sally?"

"Don't be naive, Rebecca. They're here to replace us, permanently."
