CHAPTER 18
During the past eight months, Kreegan had sailed the vast seas, hunted all the pirates he could find, and earned a reputation among the pirates as a ruthless pirate hunter. During this time, Kreegan had many gains, apart from 25 million bellies, thanks to his hunting and battles.
First, a piece of new information appeared on the status screen called occupation. His occupation was pirate hunter, and this occupation gave him a buff. He had a 30% chance to apply the fear debuff to enemies of the same or lower level, and this debuff caused them to run away. With all the fighting, he was able to level up too.
Now he was level 3; with this level came a few new things too. In this level-up, he was able to choose a feat, so he looked over all the feats he could select and decided to pick Arcane Strike. This feat imbues his swords with arcane power, and in addition to that, it will provide a 10% damage buff; with every five levels, it will give 10% more. He put his 4 points into the same skills and boosted his cognitive and physical prowess. As for abilities, he got Arcane Accuracy and Perfect Strike.
Arcane Accuracy gave him a buff for one strike to his swords using his arcane pool. This buff heightened his insight into his enemies' weaknesses; with this buff, he could find his enemies' weaknesses faster and be more deadly. On the other hand, Perfect Strike spent one from the arcane pool, increasing his attack power by 50% for just one attack. He only had three arcane pools, which filled up like his spells after 6 hours. So, he had to use them sparingly.
As for spells, he picked Color Spray and Flare Burst. When Color Spray is cast, a vivid 5-meter cone of clashing colors springs forth from the caster's hand and causes blindness, stun, or knockdown debuffs. Flame Burst is an aoe damage spell. When it is cast 3 meters around, the caster will burst into flames, but the fire will not hurt the caster. With this level, he also got one more level 1 spell slot and used it to get Expeditious Retreat. He already had a 5-meter cone attack. Color Spray would only be useful in case he wanted to capture the enemy alive, but almost all the time, he didn't care if the pirates lived or died.
Another thing he has achieved at this level is that a tab called "Shop" is opened on the status screen. In Here, he could buy armors, spell scrolls, and enchantments for his weapons. Right now, everything is closed except for four enchantments. He could now get the enchantments Agile, heavy strike, cold iron, and masterwork. Agile added 10% attack speed to the sword, heavy strike increased the weight behind the attack by 50%, cold iron gives 20% more damage against devil fruit users, and masterwork increased the damage by 10% and made the sword jump a meito level, but this worked until the skillful-grade blade. They were expensive too. Agile cost 50 million bellies, Heavy Strike 75 million bellies, Cold Iron and Masterwork each 100 million bellies.

His money so far was 78 million bellies. He could have bought Agile or heavy strike if he wanted to. One enchantment could be added to graded blades, two to Skillful-grades, three to Great-grades, and five to Supreme-grades. Kreegan chose to take the Heavy Strike because he was fast enough for the time being, and his body was getting longer and stronger with each passing day, thanks to puberty. He was now 180 cm tall. This will add more weight to his strikes so that he can take his opponents by surprise.
Almost all of the gold and money on his ship disappeared when he took the Heavy Strike. While he was thinking that something magical was going to happen to Ichinami, information began to fill his mind instead. The enchantments he received were not automatic, and he had to reforge his swords and then add them to his enchantments. This meant if he didn't forge a Great-graded blade, he won't be able to enchant a blade in that grade.
Thanks to puberty, his body had grown and developed, and he was now able to use two more sword techniques. Ittoryu: Sanjuroku Pound Ho (36 Pound Phoenix) and Nitoryu: Tatsumaki (two sword style: Dragon Twister). 36 Pound Phoenix was a ranged sword slash that used the air itself to slash the target from a distance. This flying slash attack sends compressed air as a spiraling blade for 20 meters. Since the width of the attack is also wide, we can count it as a pillar aoe attack too. Nitoryu: Tatsumaki, on the other hand, was a full aoe attack but still had a small area, only affecting an area of 4 meters in diameter.
As Kreegan advanced on the open sea, he was also trying to get used to these attacks by throwing them toward the sea. He needed to go to an island and find a Blacksmith as soon as possible and was considering adding this enchantment to Ichinami. The downside was that if he wanted to add this enchantment to another sword, he had to buy it again. Because the magic that enabled it did not come from him. He could feel this magic inside his body and stood apart without mingling with his power.
After a long journey, he came to a place called Cloud Island. This island was somewhere in the middle of East Blue, between Gaimon and the calm belt. There was a city called Kumon Town, though not as big as Loguetown.
Kreegan anchored here and wandered the city in search of a blacksmith. He finally found a blacksmith outside the city. He approached the blacksmith and saluted, but the three men forging iron inside ignored him.
This time he got closer to the threshold of the door and knocked on the door. One of the men took a deep breath, dropped the hammer, and came toward Kreegan.
"I don't know what you came to order, but we don't have any time right now. We're full for a month. So good day to you."
Without waiting for Kreegan's reply, he turned and was about to leave. Kreegan said.
"I didn't come here to order."
"Why are you keep bothering us? Then go away. We're already swamped. I don't have time for you."
Kreegan was very offended by the man's attitude. So, he decided to offend him too.
"I am sorry for bothering you, but I wouldn't buy anything you make anyway. Why would I buy an inferior product when I could make a better one."
The man froze in an oath and said angrily, turning slowly to Kreegan.
"My friend, you need to be very careful with what you say. Especially if you come into someone's shop and insult their product, it may even cause you to be injured."
