CHAPTER 14
Kreegan was overconfident and underestimated Bluejam's cruelty. Using his own men as bait, Bluejam had studied Kreegan's fighting strategy. At first, he was terrified that this young man could kill 15 people in one minute, and he even thought of running away for a second, but as the fight progressed, this monster's speed slowed down.
Seeing this, Bluejam continued to watch his men die and was relieved to see that this man was truly inexperienced in fighting to the death. He was using too much power and too many wide swings. What kind of devil fruit he still didn't understand, but the way his sword cut through it and Porchemy's first hit meant it wasn't logia. It must have been some kind of paramecia.
Bluejam, who was approaching again from behind to attack, was thwarted this time, but this man was clearly starting to get tired. Continuing to attack relentlessly, the many attacks by Bluejam and his seven remaining men had begun to leave many small wounds on Kreegan. None of Kreegan's wounds were serious, but Kreegan's stamina was beginning to bottom out as he had many cuts, and each bled a little.
Kreegan noticed that he was starting to panic, and he was trying to get out of this containment while trying to thwart the incoming attacks. Bluejam never collided directly with it. He only attacked when his men managed to break my balance. Then he would strike. If it didn't work, he would retreat right away.
He would circle around them like a shark and look for an opening. Realizing that he was going nowhere like this, Kreegan used another flare, and only 3 of the remaining ones were affected. There was an escape point for Kreegan, but at this very moment, a giant man positioned to hit Kreegan but an Acid Splash landed right in his face.
Kreegan was waiting for their counter, as they expected Kreegan to use Flare and ambush him while he tried to run, but Kreegan was ready for this. So, he shot Porchemy right in the face and permanently blinded him. Turning his sword to a reverse grip, he cut past Porchemy and managed to get out of the encirclement.
As he was running away, he threw Chisanami at one of the blinded pirates, skewered him in the chest, and kept running to put some distance between them. Bluejam was not having a good time. He had lost 20 men and was only left with 5. Starting to look around, Bluejam realized that many were watching them, and if he ran away now, he would never show his face here again. What should he do and kill this young man? Bluejam and his men continued to run after Kreegan.

Just at this moment, when a light started to appear in front of them, they immediately hid their eyes with their arms so as not to be blind. But Kreegan used the Light spell, not Flare, so the light wasn't actually blinding, and since Kreegan didn't need to close his eyes. so, he used this opening, summoned Chisanami, and attacked again.
He cut down to more men and, seeing this, Bluejam attacked, but Kreegan deflected his strike. Kreegan threw Chisanami at Bluejam, but he was able to deflect it, but right after it, with his empty hand, Kreegan cast a Jolt spell at him.
He fled the path of the spell, the man behind him was shot right in the head and fell to the ground as if his string had been cut. Having managed to evade the spell, Bluejam threw the knife on his off-hand at Kreegan, who, not expecting it, was hit in the right shoulder. The pain seemed to ripple through his entire body, and for that reason, he could not move for a moment.
Seeking to take advantage of this, Bluejam quickly started to close the distance with Kreegan. Kreegan wanted to raise his hand to cast a spell, but he couldn't quite raise his arm because of the knife. Bluejam was about 3 meters away and was preparing to attack. Kreegan couldn't raise his arm to eye level, but something came to his mind, and he cast the Ray of Ice spell at Bluejam's foot.
Not expecting this, Bluejam was unable to evade the attack, and the ice floe hit him right on the foot. Losing his balance, Bluejam stumbled and missed his strike. Not missing the opportunity, Kreegan managed to make a quick cut in Bluejam's neck. Continuing to stagger, clutching his neck in pain, Bluejam collapsed to the ground as blood gushed from his neck.
Bluejam's men initially wanted to attack and avenge their captain but shuddered when they looked at Kreegan. Kreegan's eyes were burning like fire. Anyone who saw his condition might think that he would fall to the ground and faint at any moment, but his eyes and the aura around him seemed like he could even fight an army alone. He looked like a wounded wild animal. Seeing this, the other pirates had no intention of fighting anymore and began to flee without looking back.
Kreegan was breathing laboriously, and the knife stuck at his right shoulder was hurting so much, but this fight was a great lesson for him. He was too arrogant and underestimated his enemies. Even if they were weak pirates, they were pirates non the less. He underestimated Bluejam Pirates because they lost to 3 children, but those three children didn't attack them when there were 25 of them.
He was very curious as to why the last pirates had run away. He didn't even have any energy to swing his sword, but he was not going to just roll over and die. He was going to fight to the bitter end, but he was thankful that they ran. Kreegan had barely managed to get himself into a clinic, and after many, many stitches, the doctor said he was very lucky.
It would have done permanent damage if the blade had penetrated a few more centimeters deeper. The reason why the blade couldn't go that deep must have been the canny defense provided by his class. Thanks to this skill, his body has at least twice as much defense as a normal person's, which is why he has harder skin and muscles. He heard a sound but was too tired to look what that was and fell asleep.
