Day 30

Mother woke us up early today at dawn.

"Wake up. Today you are going to go through a trial on whether you have what it takes to be a part of our clan."-Mother

She led us outside and she told us to get onto her back. We all lied down on her back and held her fur with our claws.

'I wonder if this will hurt her... nah..'

Then she started to run at insane speeds, probably... 50-60 mph. She was really fast. The ride was pretty bumpy and I almost fell off once but held on like my life depended on it.

After a few hours and a few windows popping up, informing me that we passed the 6th level, then the 7th, then the 8th,9th, and finally we reached the 10th level by noon.

Mother looked tired from running such a long distance at that speed.

I instantly felt the weight of my body become increasingly heavier and fell down. My siblings did also, but mother didn't seem affected by it.

Anyway I brought you here for the naming trial. I want you to bring me something that you hunted in the 10th level, it doesn't matter what, but once you do you will have succeeded the trial. You have 3 hours to bring me something. Also if you do not succeed and come back empty handed I will kill you, because that is the tradition of our species. The weak must die."-Mother

I used all of my strength to lift myself off of the ground and my legs were shaking violently just in order to support my new weight.

'This place is f*cking crazy! There must be a lot of monsters stronger than me.'

I got an idea and decided to use mana strengthening. My body felt instantly lighter and I could move around more freely but I could still feel the weight on my body.

My siblings followed suit and activated their own mana strengthening.

I quickly went in search of prey. I didn't want to take too long because the longer I stay the chances of my survival decreases. Also I have a limited time for my mana strengthening and if it runs out that I am easy prey for other beasts.

I came across a swamp and used conceal to see if any unsuspecting creatures went by.

I walked across the waters edge and slowly walked around in search of prey. I received several notifications of my strength increasing because of the new gravity increase but I ignored them.

I felt like there was something watching me and I looked around but saw nothing. Suddenly the water burst up behind and a huge reptilian creature snapped its jaws on my left hind leg.

I cried out in pain and saw a crocodile use over 2000 lbs of force (humans have about 300 lbs of force in their jaws) to bite into my hind leg and it hurt like b*tch. I heard bones cracking from the force and quickly used external mana control to strengthen that leg.

I put more mana into my other leg and was able to kick it in the eye so that it loosened its bite on my leg. Luckily one of my claws from my hind leg was able to pierce its eye and blind its right side.

I broke free and limped a good distance away while the croc writhed in pain for a little while before turning its attention on me again.

'Shit... I'm pretty sure I won't be able to outrun this creature... and its scales are probably really hard.

Suddenly the crocodile charged towards me and swiped me with its massive tail.

With my mana strengthening I was able to jump high enough with my remaining uninjured legs to avoid its attack.

The crocodile snapped at me with its jaws and I was able to narrowly dodge it by a hairsbreadth.

The crocodile charged at me again and swung its tail once more but it swung at air and hit a tree. The tree shook violently and leaves fell onto the ground.

I took this chance to limp over as quickly as I can to its side. With all of my strength I somehow pushed it over onto its back by grabbing its side with my mouth and using external mana control to bring most of my mana to my forelegs and pushing hard to turn it over.

I went on top of it and brought all of my mana into my jaws and bit down hard right under its neck area. I tasted blood and kept on biting and biting. I was practically eating this thing alive.

The crocodile was squirming in pain and I was able to roll over and get on top of my but I didn't let go and kept on eating it.

Soon the crocodile stopped moving, had its last breath of air and died.

A series of windows popped up and I ignored them.

I needed to hurry up and somehow bring a part of this creature back to mother before some other beasts comes here smelling the blood.

I once again gathered mana in my jaws to eat the neck area of the crocodile and was able to eat all of the muscle and tendons around that area in order to sever the head from the body.

After about 20 minutes of grueling work and have low mana I was finally able to separate the head. The scales on its back were really hard and I had some cuts inside of my mouth.

I had the head by the snout and was carrying it with my mouth. I was on auto and somehow managed to get back to mother.

Once I arrived to where she was I dropped the head and fell down unconscious as mother ran up to me with worried eyes and began licking me.

*ding*
