Jeremy emerged from the cave, narrowly avoiding being tackled by the guards upon his exit. They refrained from touching him, knowing not to interfere. Despite the absence of music and the lack of flames engulfing his hair, there was a peculiar aura surrounding Jeremy. It resembled the heat ripple one observes above hot asphalt, an invisible yet palpable phenomenon. Jeremy seemed oblivious to this phenomenon, but it commanded respect nonetheless; an instinctual response ingrained in the human psyche. The guards, like everyone else, couldn't help but notice the collar around his neck—an unusual adornment that begged explanation.
Jeremy appeared entirely ordinary, save for the black cloth choker adorning his neck, accented by a small silver ring. Its subtle glow hinted at its significance, contrasting with the absence of heat distortion around its vicinity. It almost seemed to absorb the heat, a curious effect reminiscent of theatrical magic. Jeremy wore a foolish grin, betraying his inner amusement as he addressed the guards, teasingly suggesting a lift with them. Despite his playful demeanor, there was an undeniable edge to his presence, hinting at a deeper power within.
Upon their arrival at the tent, a swift decontamination process ensued, ensuring Jeremy's isolation from others. Within minutes, he found himself seated beside Jeff, who wore a peculiar smile, belying an underlying unease. Jeremy couldn't help but notice Jeff's odd behavior, prompting him to inquire about his well-being.
"I've got a power," Jeff cryptically replied, his words tinged with mystery.
Before Jeff could elaborate further, Jeremy's collar inexplicably fell off, revealing another one hidden beneath it. Perplexed by this discovery, Jeremy handed the collar to Jeff, who accepted it without hesitation.
"So, what did you get?" Jeremy inquired, curious about Jeff's newfound ability.
Grinning from ear to ear, Jeff revealed, "I can hear everything. I've got the best hearing in the world. I know what the general is saying right now, and they don't even know I can hear them."
Jeremy couldn't contain his excitement at this revelation, envisioning the possibilities of Jeff's enhanced senses. However, his enthusiasm waned as he realized the implications of Jeff's newfound power. Concerned for his friend's safety, Jeremy cautioned Jeff against venturing into densely populated areas, prompting a somber realization to dawn upon Jeff.
Before Jeff could say another word, Jeremy's collar fell off. To their surprise, a second one dropped and landed in Jeremy's lap. It looked identical to the one still around his neck. Jeremy offered the new collar to Jeff.
"The Ark gave me this to keep me under control," Jeremy explained. "If you ever need it, just put it on. I don't know if it's good or bad, but it's keeping me from reaching a critical state."
Jeff, understanding the gravity of Jeremy's words, silently donned the collar. A subtle yet palpable sensation of Jeff's presence lingered in Jeremy's subconscious.
"So, what did you get?" Jeremy asked, looking at Jeff. With an ear-to-ear Joker grin, Jeff replied, "I can hear everything. I have the best hearing in the world. I know what the general is saying right now, and they don't know I can hear, but not that well." Jeff giggled, clearly thrilled with his new ability.
With only minutes to spare before facing the general's scrutiny, Jeremy braced himself for the inevitable confrontation. As he entered the general's tent, he was met with a barrage of questions, prompting him to recount the events that transpired within the cave. However, it was his unconventional proposal regarding "magical dungeons" that truly baffled the assembled officials.
Undeterred by their skepticism, Jeremy implored the general to contact their superiors, emphasizing the need for a patent to legitimize their endeavor. Thus began Jeremy's audacious plan to bring the Adventures Guild to Earth, a scheme that would forever alter the course of history.
The bigwigs immediately after Jeremy's talked with the general had to talk, and they had also been informed that Jeff's Powers were no longer functioning after Jeremy and he told them Jeff openly said that Jeremy gave him Joker and because he wanted it to be seen it wasn't invisible anymore and then it was just a black stripe like Jeremy's but thinner.
Stolen story; please report.
Jeremy tried a couple times to change his but for some reason and I'm thinking the art did this on purpose as a joke he couldn't change it from the one that the ark set up but I'm guessing others would be able to make them invisible so that people didn't know I guess I'm trying to read into what alien Minds in the ark are thinking so thanks for that my brain is now hurting.
Jeff was whisked away someplace, and Jeremy knew which direction but not exactly where on the map he was, and honestly, for a while, that was the last he saw of him.
But with all this power came the ability to get his crew to talk to him, and after they had been there enough and they weren't infected, he had sent them home. But Jim would not leave, and Jeremy was grateful, so Jim and Jeremy worked with Jag and the president of the United States and the prime minister of Canada to make a treaty to be the first two countries in the world after Scotland to get its first engines. The Scotland dungeon would not be considered a proper dungeon but a controller and therefore would not be allowed people anywhere near it AKA lockdown.
So Jeremy was still locked up in this little tent in Scotland for the next week or two, where the politicians of the world were going nuts, all demanding that they at least get one. That fight took 3 days for them to understand that they don't get to pick where they are is where they are so just now going to be battles and Wars over them.
Jeremy was so freaking disappointed and angry that Scotland Canada in the United States got told off by Jeremy to the point where he was so mad at them on a call that the president of the United States bowed her head out of disgrace for her and the rest of them people of the United Nations and the United States.
They made a deal. They made it so that the governments of the world will own the dungeons, but they have to work with a company called The Adventures Guild to make sure that the dungeons are maintained and that is the one rule. If they're not maintained, they will explode. And by explode, I don't mean monsters flooding out. I mean literal explosion of land as a chunk of molten metal shoots up out of the ground and then just screws up everything, including environment at the sphere in a couple other things that we don't need to get into, but basically it's like dropping a nuke.
It took six more days, and they signed all but three countries, so those three countries, they just were not a part of it. It was told that they will not have access to their dungeons if there's any in their land, and for now, no one really gave a s***, but a couple people realize that that's going to be a problem down the road.
Jeremy was even getting personal death threats over this, and it was really ugly from the United Nations. You would think people would be more willing to work together and not kill each other.
What not a lot of people realize was the governments were locking everybody out of all this, so the different hacker groups of the world were just you gave them time you gave them time to figure stuff out they were in all the equipment they were listening to all
of this. They knew how upset Jeremy was; they knew what was going to happen. So they took away the government's control over this for some of the countries because one more day later, a map of the world was leaked with all 200 dungeons marked on it. Someone had figured out where one was and then tried to figure out how to photograph it, and yeah, it was a door in the middle of a desert in the middle of nowhere, just a door that went to Nowhere that was closed. It's about 30 ft wide and about 10 ft tall.
So when that little secret got out and someone had figured out how to look at it, someone broke into a satellite and used that satellite and all the others that they had kind of broken into and took pictures of the whole planet. Now this just showed within a mile of where it should be, so there were 200 of these little pink dots on this map, and wow, people just started going to these places. Towns, villages within a day or two had started to pop up, people that wanted to make money they showed up, people that wanted to worship Magic.
One of the first things everybody kind of noticed about all the doors was if you wanted to talk to someone at another one of the doors, there was a communication system set up through a group called The Crusaders. Some of them were religious, some of them weren't; their entire belief system was to prevent the monsters from escaping the Gates of Hell into Earth.
At every single one of the doors, what was supposed to happen was a building was supposed to be set up for exactly that to keep anything inside the dungeon inside and also to allow quests and jobs to be put on a board to get done, and then hopefully down the road, that would all become digital.
But for now, the only two that were going to be opened as a testing ground were one in Canada because that's where Jeremy was from, and we had to kind of do that, or else he would kind of get in trouble, and one in the UK that the Americans would have access to because of what's happening. What no one really knew was that Jeremy secretly agreed to get the third one running in the United States ASAP as a personal favor. In return, Jeremy would work with the US alongside them to help the rest of the United Nations not murder each other during this transition, and Jeremy would get paid.
