Chapter 8 Following the dust bunnies to a mysterious trail of sawdust!!

I'm Sunny Crumpet and... Wait... What'd I just hear?

Comic of Momma Kate saying, "What was that? Did I hear you're actually going to clean your room Hon?"

So... Does that mean it's messy..?

Like... The Victorian tower bedroom that we play repunzel in is... Messy?

"Hey Sunny!" Momma Kate asked me, "Wanna try some cocoa? Mandy brought it from a real mocha shop!"

A real mocha shop? A real one? Did I doubt Kate's honesty?

Yes, I did, but I also know that WHEN she lies, she has a tell and that tell it...

Well, she sounds like a robot!

("Beep Beep!" (Picture 2 panel comic, panel 1 is a picture of a Mud pie. Panel 2 is Momma Kate's comic about tasting a mud pie... "Smells alright. Looks alright, tastes really amazing!"

"So..!" Momma Kate started to ask me after I had my first taste that left a smile on my face in the kitchen windows reflection and..! "What do you think about this cocoa?"

"Well..." I wanted to have some more in my mouth. "After trying some of this delightfully creamy mint cocoa!" I tried to sound like a connoisseur like my uncle Randy, "I think that this is the best blend I have EVER tasted!"

"Really!" Momma Kate smiled at me, "Then I'll order some more!"

"So," Narrie hurriedly asked me, "do you wanna see the cool new thing inside of my bedroom tower or not?"

"I..." Narrie darted at me before I could answer her, but..! Even though lasting 5 seconds is surprisingly hard, (for me,) I can be determined!

So... 1: Okay, there's this game we play, the staring game, and...

2... See, Narrie always wins... Because...

3... "AHH!!! It's torture!"

"Then I am not going to let you see inside my bedroom until you can!" Narrie laughed and I know why too! Because it's messy. Anyways...

"It's cool." I told her as I tried to follow the fish. Oh, by the way, this bed and breakfast has a lot of fish tanks, and guess who's job it is to clean all of them?

Narries!

And as the light reflected off the corner of the dinning room aquarium, she looked around the room and muttered... "Hey! Maybe those dust bunnies will lead us to the prism rainbows treasure."

(Picture of a dust bunny leading the way to a rainbow.)

"And... There it is!" Narrie pointed to a picture that Lauri's Dad painted as the dust bunnies floated around in the sunlight and told me that, "Maybe the stories about how the dust comes together to create dust bunnies that lead people to butterflies and rainbows, and the treasure at the end of the rainbow are real and true and even if they are just make believe, we can share the stories around the Christmas tree and then they really will be real."

"Okay..." I giggled and asked her, "And anyways, like what stories in this town aren't true?"

"Yeah! Exactly!" Narrie smiled at the picture in front of us and exclaimed, "Momma told me that Grampa used to tell her that."

Well... I looked at the painting with her momma Laurie's Dad's signature, and I also know that Narrie Trish Middlecreek Alexander believes that her grandparents ghosts are haunting this place and well... It's not really spooky, and it's definitely not silly.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

Not after the adventure that I had! I didn't even know ghosts were real until I met Joey in Aunt Missy's attic...

Anyways, this is Noel and that's most likely that's who she just waved to before she pointed to the painting and told me, "See! I get to see Grampa like everyday now!"

(Picture. "Hi!" A bold windy voice caused me to jump!)

Well, I was... Blah about it all until the wind blew and I was greeted by a bold voice that knew my name! "Hi Sunny!"

Phew! Well, after my crawling skin relaxed, I took a good look at the person who runs the local hardware store and then waved to Narrie's Grandfather, "Hi Mr. Middlecreek!"

"You two think there's still some more of that new special cocoa that Kate made?" Narrie's grampa Middlecreek gave my mug an animated sniff, and then asked me, "I heard that it was available and... Yumm! I just want to try it!"

Then he whispered into my ear and told me, "That's just an excuse to see my kids. And to welcome you back Sunny!"

"Wait..!" He exclaimed as he went all corny and pulled a coin from my ear, "Is this yours?"

"Yeah!" I looked at the American Innovation Dollar coin and casually asked Narrie's grandfather... "So Narrie told me about some dust bunnies? Would you happen to know anything about those?"

"I do." Narrie's living Grampa, Bryan, of Bryan's hardware, (Yes..! I finally remembered who he is.) "And it seems to me the dust bunnies most commonly find the kind of treasure that, "they" personally like though, so what I mean is that dust bunnies tend to like to hang out with more dust bunnies!"

Well, I do, you know he does sell vacuum cleaners and trashcans...

"Hey hon," Dad just called to me, "Mom's wants to leave so you got a choice to make, would you like to wait for us here and we'll pick you up later for dinner at the twisted diner? Or would you like to be the first one to see whatever note you left on the fridge when we left a few months ago?"

Basically? I do NOT remember what I wrote on the fridge and I just "KNOW" That it's going to be super embarrassing!

Like I'm seeing it now... A Christmas list? AHH!

Like seriously..! Now that I know about Gaia I don't even remember being that little kid anymore! I'm a teenager (Preteen) now! So..!

"Love you!" I gave Narrie a see you soon hug, then I ran out the door and added, "Text you in the car!"

Opening the farmhouse & The rainbows and magic tunnels under the farm house.

"Sunny..." Dad just started as he wiped the mud mat for good luck and led me towards the car, "I remember asking you to write a Christmas wish list on your phone and well... It's already in the December teens so... You might wanna check it out sometime."

"Okay..." I told Dad as we got into the car, snapped on my seatbelt and while they kissed, I found the Christmas wish list and read:

Sunny Crumpet's Christmas list: BTW Santa! You can just give me dreams about these things happening Santa!

All I want for Christmas this year is that...

Mom will tell me what she does for work.

Mom will want to spend time with me.

My parents will stop treating me like a little kid who can’t handle scary stories.

And my secret wish is that IF if they get divorced, Dad will get me.

And that uncle Randy will come live with us in Noel! Please!!!

And please give Narrie will get whatever she wants. I know that you gave her so much last year Santa so like, don't stop showering her with some of your magic please!!!

*

Oh yeah! I got one of those things!

Am I still scared that Mom and Dad are going to get a divorce, never really was. I just didn't want to move to a tired town just so we could keep and eye on a really boring uncle. And well... I suppose that just because uncle Randy is here right now, doesn't actually mean we "live" here anymore...

Full time at least.

Well, while Mom slowly got settled in the car, I texted Narrie some nonsense, "I hope there's a lot of dust bunnies for the dragons to eat, so that when they're away, we can follow the rainbows and help them share their chocolate egg treasures?"

Yup! That's like a script for an ad for the dragon eggs that might be a feature of the Middlecreek bed and breakfast.

Anyways..! We just started the car, got our seat belts on, and while I waved goodbye to uncle Randy we did the most important thing of this micro-adventure..!

And that is that we took a left and started driving up the windy mountain to open up our dusty old farm house!
