Chapter 84 - Chosen Names

Falyn Elway’s P.O.V

The auditorium was alive with thunderous applause and cheers as my sister, Myla, concluded her speech. Her words had stirred the crowd's emotions, filling the air with an electric excitement. It was a momentous occasion, not just for her, but for the entire academy

Gazing down form the stands I clapped as well, and also eager for the next announcement.

As the applause for Myla gradually subsided, I felt a surge of pride for my sister. Her speech had indeed been captivating, and it was heartwarming to see the auditorium's enthusiastic response to her words. Myla had always been a natural orator, and it was no surprise that she had managed to electrify the crowd.

“First Canidate,” She announced, “Sophie Tremell. Second candidate, Davis Heartbridge, and the third candidate, Kent Ashfall.” She took a breath, “That Concludes the fifth year candidates.”

The auditorium erupted with applause once more. The excitement in the room was palpable, and each candidate received their fair share of cheers and support from the audience.

Each student made their way down to the stage and stood in spotlight

So Kent made it.

I observed the other two fifth-year candidates. Both of them carried themselves like true mages, and their demeanor seemed to speak volumes about their strength.

“Now on the the fourth year candidates.” Myla, her eyes shining with excitement and pride, began to announce the fourth-year candidates. “First Candidate,” she said, “Elena Ravenshadow. Second candidate, Aric Stormrider, and the third candidate, Lyra Nightshade.”

The applause and cheers were no less thunderous for the fourth-year candidates. Each of them made their way to the stage, standing proudly in the spotlight.

Hanz, who was sitting next to me nudged my shoulder, “How strong do you think these guys are anyway? Any match for us?”

I considered the question for a moment, my gaze still fixed on the candidates. “It's hard to say,” I responded, my voice low. “But it's likely they are up to par. The academy doesn't choose its candidates lightly, and I have no doubt that they've undergone rigorous training to get here. We shouldn't underestimate them.”

Hanz nodded in agreement, his eyes narrowing as he continued to watch the candidates. The excitement in the auditorium was contagious, and we both knew that the upcoming tournament would be a true test of our abilities and skills. The competition was fierce, but that was exactly what made it worth pursuing.

Myla, her voice filled with a mix of pride and enthusiasm, began to announce the third-year candidates. "First Candidate," she declared, "Nina Shadowbrook. Second candidate, Leo Ironbane, and the third candidate, Elara Winterglen."

The applause for the third-year candidates was just as enthusiastic as it had been for the others. The crowd's energy seemed to swell with each new introduction, and the auditorium was a sea of beaming faces and cheers.

As I watched the third-year candidates make their way to the stage, I couldn't help but notice the mixture of excitement and nervousness in their expressions.

Myla's voice remained steady and full of pride as she moved on to announce the second-year candidates. "First Candidate," she announced, "Elinor Stoneforge. Second candidate, Rowan Firesong, and the third candidate, Aria Starlight."

The applause for the second-year candidates was just as fervent as it had been for their predecessors. The auditorium's excitement showed no signs of waning, and the support from the audience remained unwavering.

"Now onto the first years," My sister announced.

Hanz nudged my shoulder once more and said, "This is it, Fal. There are only three candidates. Hopefully, both of us make it."

I smiled and replied, "Hopefully."

It wasn't much fun knowing I was already one of the candidates, but whether Hanz was one remained a complete mystery to me.

My sister continued, "To start off with the first-year candidates, we have Falyn Elway."

I stood up amongst the sitting students, my face composed.

"The second candidate," she announced, "Hanz Stellar."

My friend stood up beside me with a giant grin on his face.

"And the third candidate, Renz Froston."

In the distance, I saw Renz stand up, his face deadpan as if he expected it.

The three of us made our way down to the stage to join the rest of the candidates.

At the other end of the stage, my sister stood beside the academy headmaster. He was adorned in his customary robes, standing tall as he addressed the thousands of students through the microphone.

The headmaster cleared his throat, his deep voice resonating through the vast auditorium. "Ladies and gentlemen," he began, "today, we gather to acknowledge the exceptional potential and unwavering dedication of the candidates chosen to represent our esteemed academy in the upcoming tournament."

His words were met with enthusiastic applause from the students and staff in attendance. The headmaster continued, "These fifteen individuals have demonstrated not only remarkable skills but also the courage and determination needed to uphold the values and traditions of our academy. They embody the spirit of unity and the pursuit of excellence."

The headmaster's gaze shifted to us, and he spoke with undeniable conviction. "In the days and weeks to come, as our candidates step onto the field of battle, they will be the embodiment of our academy's honor and valor. They will forge ahead with unwavering determination, knowing that they carry the dreams and aspirations of our entire community."

He raised his voice, the power of his words filling the auditorium. "I have no doubt that, with their unmatched skills and unbreakable bonds, they will lead us to victory. Their valor, their strength, and their commitment to one another will be our guiding light. They will show the world what it means to be part of our academy, and together, we shall triumph against all odds."

The crowd erupted in applause, and I exchanged determined glances with my fellow candidates, knowing that we were about to embark on a journey that would test our abilities and our bonds. With the headmaster's words echoing in our ears.
