Chapter 100 - Blue

Zephryus Elway’s P.O.V

The two combatants strode purposefully toward the battlefield, and I could sense the electric anticipation in the air. The crowd held its collective breath in eager expectation.

As the announcer's voice resonated clearly throughout the colosseum, a hushed silence enveloped the spectators. Every eye was trained on the arena, waiting with bated breath for the impending clash. Then, with a sharp blow of the whistle, the contest commenced.

The two wizards circled one another, weaving their elements into complex patterns. Hanz's flames danced alongside Kent's spiraling water, creating a mesmerizing display of elemental prowess. A surge of energy pulsed through the arena as the combatants traded powerful spells, each countering the other's moves with astonishing precision.

Kent conjured a deluge of searing flames, only for Hanz to redirect them with an electrifying bolt of lightning. The flames twisted and danced in the air before dissipating in a spectacular display. In response, Kent's mist magic enveloped Hanz, creating multiple illusions that darted and weaved, obscuring the true source of his power.

Hanz and Kent continued their intricate dance, each trying to outmaneuver and outwit the other. Hanz summoned a wall of fire that roared to life, creating a barrier of searing heat between them. Kent responded swiftly, drawing water from the air and forming it into a cascading torrent. The water engulfed the wall of flames, hissing and sizzling as steam filled the arena.

With a flick of his wrist, Hanz sent a fiery serpent coiling through the air, aiming it directly at Kent. The serpent hissed and lunged, its jaws agape. Kent remained unfazed, raising his hand to create a swirling vortex of water. The serpent struck the watery whirlwind, only to be extinguished in a brilliant display of steam and smoke.

Kent seized the moment, weaving his fingers in intricate gestures. The mist around Hanz solidified into water spears that shot towards him from all directions. Hanz reacted quickly, summoning a powerful gust of fire that dispersed the watery projectiles. The air currents clashed in a violent whirlwind, creating a maelstrom of mist and fire that engulfed the combatants.

Amidst the chaos, Hanz emerged from the tempest, his flames burning even brighter. Kent, now concealed in a thick shroud of mist, appeared to have vanished. The crowd watched in anticipation, unsure of where the next attack would come from. Suddenly, Kent's illusions faded, revealing him high above the arena, hovering on a platform of solid water.

With a graceful dive, Kent descended, his hands outstretched. A colossal wave of water surged from beneath him, crashing towards Hanz. Hanz responded with a final, desperate gambit, channeling his energy into a fiery explosion that expanded outward, colliding with the oncoming wave.

The resulting explosion was blinding, filling the colosseum with a brilliant, searing light. The crowd shielded their eyes, their senses overwhelmed by the elemental forces unleashed within the arena. When the glare subsided, both wizards stood at opposite ends of the battlefield, panting.

Hanz Stellar’s P.O.V

The deafening roar of the crowd was like a distant echo as I focused on Kent. The intense heat from my flames and the swirling energy in the arena filled me with an exhilarating rush, and I knew that only one of us would emerge victorious. If I didn't win this round, I wouldn't advance.

Kent's water surged towards me in a torrent, a cascade of liquid power that threatened to drown my flames. With a surge of will, I channeled my magic into a searing bolt of lightning. It arced through the air and met Kent's water, causing it to hiss and sizzle, creating a mesmerizing dance of steam and mist that momentarily obscured our vision once more.

My fiery serpent, a creation of pure elemental rage, hissed and lunged toward Kent Once more. But his swift response was like poetry in motion. He conjured a vortex of water, an undulating barrier that clashed with my fiery serpent, extinguishing it in a brilliant burst of steam and smoke. The crowd erupted in applause, and I could hear their admiration even through the thick mist.

Kent's illusions played tricks on my senses, weaving in and out of my perception. I tried to focus, to discern the real Kent from his illusions, but it was like chasing a shadow. The audience's gasps and exclamations heightened the tension, adding to the surreal quality of the battle.

Though I had learned that throughout the battle that If the surrounding heat was hot enough the mist was naturally evaporate, causing this effect to go away.

As the maelstrom of mist and fire engulfed us, I had a sense of exhilaration, knowing that this was a battle of wits as much as power. I was determined not to let Kent's clever tricks sway me. I was going to save this last technique I've been working on for later in the tournament, but it looks like I'll have to use it to stay in.

I changed both fire and lightning throughout my being. I felt my body run hot as the two elements collied and began to produce something great.

Zephyrus Elway’s P.O.V

The revelation of Hanz's newfound power sent shockwaves through the crowd overseeing the tournament. As the mist surrounding him began to dissipate under the immense heat he was generating, it was clear that something extraordinary was happening. Blue flames, an awe-inspiring and legendary phenomenon, engulfed Hanz like an aura, a sight so rare that it had only been witnessed once before, by none other than King Stellar himself.

Apollo's astonished gaze remained fixed on the unfolding spectacle. "Father, isn't that..." he began, his voice trailing off, as he realized the significance of the moment.

King Stellar, a man of immense wisdom and power, nodded gravely. "Yes, it is," he replied, his eyes never leaving the arena below. "Hanz has harnessed the very essence of Blue Fire. He learned it the same way I did – through the guidance of mana. There is no teacher, no written instruction, for such a technique. It is a rare and ancient magic that can only be discovered and mastered by the most exceptional of wizards."

The concept of Blue Fire was a captivating and enigmatic one. In a world where elemental powers were well-known and often harnessed, this was a unique fusion of two seemingly incompatible elements: fire and lightning. It was a legacy passed down exclusively through the Stellar bloodline, a testament to their innate connection with the elements.

For generations, the natural high elements had been recognized and understood: Ice, Sand, Mist, Mud, Plant, and Magma. However, King Stellar had shattered the conventional boundaries of elemental magic by introducing Blue Fire, a fusion that defied convention and unleashed unparalleled power.

As the colosseum buzzed with murmurs and astonishment, the legacy of the Stellar bloodline and the incredible feat of Hanz's mastery of Blue Fire were brought to the forefront. The tournament had taken an unexpected turn, revealing a new level of magic that would undoubtedly shape the future of elemental wizardry.
