A smooth seven months had passed, and I had learned to crawl. It was a long and arduous process that required patience and constant hard work. When I had finally succeeded, I felt ecstatic. Even though it was just a stepping stone, it felt like much more than that.
During the past few months, my sister had turned five, and we had celebrated her birthday with a small gathering. My father had given her a silver necklace with a crescent moon charm that shone brilliantly in the sunlight and moonlight. My mother, on the other hand, had given her a short sword with a silver blade and a black hilt. It was something that I could see myself using in the future, simple and durable. I never really liked flashy things.
My gift to my sister, however, was the best of all. Instead of my first words being "Mama" or "Dada," I looked straight towards Myla and said "sissy." Everyone was dumbfounded at first, but then they burst into a fit of giggles and laughter. After my sister had accepted her gifts with a smile, we had cake, and that was that.
The next few months consisted of me getting used to my new body and listening to storytelling from my parents. My father and mother had apparently met as "adventurers." I didn't know all the details because both of their stories were different. Mother claimed that he had fallen for her, and father said that she had fallen for him. By the way they debated, it didn't matter which story was true or not; they seemed made for each other.
Besides all the love and romance stuff, their stories were quite interesting. My father told stories of how he had battled beasts and monsters twice his height. Even my mother had told me how my father had gone toe to toe with these creatures. And apparently, my mother wasn't a scrub either. My father's exact words were, "Your mother's swordsmanship was outstanding. She moved around on the battlefield like a breeze, taking out all the bad monsters in seconds. Yeah, she was good, but she had nothing on your old pops."
In one story, he had even come face to face with a dragon. He and the dragon had apparently been allies, fighting side by side. I was shocked by this. In my old world, dragons were fake, nothing but fairy tales and mythology, stories from the past. Here, though, they were real and out there.
Anyway, besides all the stories and birthdays, today was the day. I had been practicing crawling for two days, getting the ropes and basics. I was positive I was ready. Mother was outside with Myla, teaching her swordsmanship, and my father was cooking dinner. He was too busy to completely keep an eye on me, so I made my way to the study room.

I had been in the study room multiple times. When my sister studied, I usually sat on the floor and looked around. But every time I tried to grab a book, my parents would pull me back and put it away where it belonged, so I never got to read anything. Well, until now.
The room was of medium size, with a big desk stationed in the middle and bookshelves at the front and the back of the room. Some days, I spent hours just sitting in here, so I knew where to go for the books I needed. I made my way to the back shelf, grabbing a book called "Lotia Encyclopedia."
It was the first volume of a three-volume encyclopedia about Lotia. I eagerly flipped through the pages, scanning the table of contents. I quickly located my point of interest and began reading the section on the Continent of Lotia, which was listed as number eight. As I delved into the encyclopedia, I found myself captivated by the rich and diverse world of Lotia.
According to the encyclopedia, Lotia is comprised of three kingdoms: Thezmear Kingdom to the north, Delodora Kingdom in the center, and Vintess Kingdom to the south. The Lunar Mountains stretch along the eastern border of the continent, spanning from Thezmear all the way to Vintess. These mountainous forests are filled with dangerous beasts and monsters, with three-quarters of them remaining uncharted.
To the west lies the Liona Archipelago, consisting of many small islands surrounding one large island called Liona Capital. The archipelago is a symbol of peace and is not ruled by any one kingdom. Every year, the three kingdoms' royal families hold a tournament on the archipelago for student mages and adventurers to compete for rewards and glory.
Tri Beach is situated on the eastern edge of the continent, connecting the mainland to the ocean. Similar to the Lunar Mountains, Tri Beach spans from Thezmear to Vintess and is a part of all three kingdoms' borders.
In this world, Kings/Queens pass the reign to their son/daughter and so on, but unlike my old world, it has different races such as Elves, Gnomes, Dwarves, Humans, and Demies. These races coexist peacefully throughout the continent.
I was human in my old world and I'm pretty sure I'm human in this one, but the other races are new to me. I don't think I've seen any other races from the time I went out either, I wonder what they're like.
It's weird though, this world only has one continent? AS there was no information on this, I chose to leave it be and continued researching.
Beck Town Is located in the southeast of the Vintess kingdom. So the mountains I've seen in the distance are the Lunar Mountains.
We've been this close to dangers and my parents aren't worried? They must really be bad asses.
Aside from all that, This word also has a really distinct hierarchy. The more rich and powerful you are, decides your rank in society. We might have money for us to live in the small village for some time, but I don't think our family's all that rich and powerful. I couldn't help but ask myself, will this new family of mine be okay? Letting the question linger in my mind, I opened the next book. "Basics of Mana and Magic".
