Prologue

"The hell is wrong with this protagonist!? You have all these girls, and yet you continue to act like that!?"

Yo, my name is Jason, and as you can tell, I'm currently angry at this harem protagonist here. I've been reading this novel series since my freshman year of high school. I continued reading even when I had finally graduated college. It's gotten me through some of the toughest parts of my life, and sadly, this beloved series of mine is finally coming to an end.

Surviving my Rebirth in this Hellish New World. From the start, this is a series that had very few readers. It seemed like a generic isekai web novel that we've already seen a bunch of times. And that was true in the beginning. The only problem is "the beginning" consisted of around 300 or so chapters of straight mediocrity.

This, naturally, made the entire fanbase of the small series disappear like magic, except for me. Yes, yes, I know this plot sounds similar to a certain web novel, but trust, it's totally different!

Anyways, as I lay on my bed idly scrolling on my phone, I received a notification that "Rebirth" had been updated.

A warm smile flashed upon my face for a moment as I open my reading app and got ready to read Rebirth, as I usually do, until I noticed the chapter was titled END.

"This is the final chapter, huh?"

"Hopefully that asshole actually answers one of the girls' feelings."

I clicked on it and began reading. It left off where the last chapter left off, the protagonist, Aaron Leonheart had finally fulfilled his grand revenge scheme and killed every last relative of King Knightford, the man whom had betrayed him. This arc was particularly intriguing to me.

I have always hated revenge stories with a passion. Everyone has reasons for what they do, and I had always wanted to know those reasons before taking action before doing something regrettable.

I would always get annoyed when a protagonist would be quick to take revenge without thought, yet for some reason, I had found myself so deeply immersed with the story that I was hardly bothered by it. For someone like Aaron, who I had spent countless chapters with, to finally break, it simply felt like it was only natural. It was a part where the hero didn't feel like a hero at all.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

I got to see true pain and anger in this guy as he slaughtered, not only the people who had wronged him, but just any nuisance in general.

"No remorse whatsoever, eh Aaron?" I sighed as I scrolled through the pages.

I had grown attached to this character from day one. I had often hated his choices on many matters but one could not help but feel sorry for him. The years of abuse from being from a fallen noble family, being looked down upon by all of Knightford Academy when he enrolled, the betrayals from trusted individuals.

Through the course of nearly 2800 chapters, he's experienced some awful things, but that's not even including the hardships he faced in his previous life…

"Huh? Wait, what's this?"

As I scrolled up and down the pages, rereading like a maniac, I finally realized what I had just read. 'With what little strength I had left, I drove my sword through my chest, I no longer want to live in this cruel world, nor do I need to.' Did he kill himself? Are you for real? Seriously?

"Damn…" I rubbed my forehead with my fingers.

I was far too shocked to even utter a full sentence. I continued scrolling through the pages, not that there were many left. They simply described the emotions he felt as he was dying as well as the events that led to his decision.

No need to live? What the hell was this guy on about? You still have three beautiful girls that love wholeheartedly, they survived death together with you. They're waiting for you! Are you seriously ending it there?

As I stopped at the final page, I read the contents out loud for a reason I could not explain.

"A shame truly. If only his life had turned out differently. Perhaps you, my dearest reader, would like to change his life?

Two boxes were under words that were written, one of the boxes said yes, and the other said no. I immediately pressed the button that said yes.

"I'm not letting this dumbass die! You think you're gonna drag me around for 3000 chapters without allowing me to see a happy ending?"

The moment I clicked the button, my vision became blurry and I began to feel tired for some reason. I read the words that popped up on the screen afterward.

"Then let's hope that you can change the story well, enjoy your last night on Earth, sweet dreams."

"Wha…

What the hell is this? Before I could finish talking, I dropped my phone on my nose and began to fall deep asleep. Who would've known that my pressing yes would've led to living life in a completely different world? Anyone. The answer is anyone. I knew what I was getting into the moment I pressed the button.

I'm rather excited, what kind of life am I about to experience?
