"For my first choice, I want 'War God's Perfect Arsenal'."
[War God's Perfect Arsenal]
In an Omniverse completely made up of infinite war, one god stood above all as the Supreme War God, Arswon. He massacred every other god in the omniverse with his massive array of weaponry that he called upon at any time. He was armed with every weapon in all possible histories, past, present, and even future.
Arswon's arsenal even included divine weapons capable of piercing causality and ignoring all resistances to death or existance erasure. A single strike from one of his weapons could even kill high outerversal level beings with ease.
It was almost certain that Arswon would end up as the definitive ruler of his war-torn omniverse. That was until Mitchell Scards destroyed him and gained the record for the fastest omniverse conquest, 13.34 seconds; 13.3 of those seconds were spent talking. After Mitchell defeated Arswon, he took his abilities and wealth as his own and dipped.
-The ability to summon any weapon within the bounds of your imagination and imbue it with any one special ability.
"A good choice, that guy had some pretty decent weapons at his disposal due to that skill!"
I nodded, mildly shook at the description of the skill. Just how strong is this guy?
"For my second skill, I would like to choose 'Perfect Causality'."
[Perfect Causality]
She was the luckiest woman in the universe, no, multiverse, perhaps even in her own omniverse! Brooklyn Gates' causality was so incredibly warped in her favor that she even survived the destruction of her own universe, being transported via wormhole to the safest place in her omniverse, 'The Center'.
Brooklyn wandered through the center, earning money by either participating in gladiator fighting tournaments or just appearing in front of her. One day in the tournament, she encountered the one person in the world that wasn't affected by her causality manipulation, Mitchell Scards. By the time she realized her luck didn't work in her favor, it was too late, she had lost the match by forfeit.
She grew intrigued by the strange man known as Mitchell and tried to get to know him as a friend. She soon grew close enough to him to be considered more than a friend, and eventually, a wife.
While Mitchell was working toward the conquest of her multiverse, she wanted to assist him. The foolish Mitchell allowed her help and began hunting down the strongest beings across the infinite space-time continuum.
When Mitchell and Brooklyn finally approached the strongest existence within the omniverse, Mitchell had made a severe miscalculation in his opponents abilities. An instant death ability capable of piercing through the strongest layers of causality and killing the very existence of a person. Brooklyn was killed instantly, and Mitchell absorbed her ability into his collection. Mitchell was then killed instantly and sent back to the [REDACTED] where he selected a more powerful form of himself and went back to defeat his opponent.
-Causality will always twist in your favor. The best possible outcome of any situation will always occur.
"Another excellent choice, but remember, just like the description says, 'if your opponent can negate causality, it won't work', I learned that the hard way. So it won't work on that Aaron guy"

He sounded somewhat sad while speaking, but after reading the description, I could understand why.
"Anyways, what will your final ability be?"
"Of course," I took a deep breath before finishing, " For my final ability, I will choose 'Eye of Absolute Certainty."
[Eye of Absolute Certainty]
Once, long ago in a distant omniverse, there was a man living in the largest cyclops village with an eye capable of determining the future. He would use his eye to determine when crops would grow and when they wouldn't for his and other villages. He could determine when the soil was rich enough to plant crops on, he could determine if a plant was poisonous or not, he could even tell what illnesses a person had. He eventually became worshiped and loved in all cyclops villages as one blessed by the gods.
One day a man named Mitchell Scards passed through the peaceful village with permission from the chiefs to rest. By sheer coincidence, Mitchell spots the cyclops with the special eye in the village market one day. At first, he didn't know how special the cyclops' eye was. However, when he looked at him again with his helmet on, he noticed just how incredible his eye was.
One night, when the cyclops was walking through the village alone, Mitchell snuck up behind him, covered his mouth, and tore his eye out. The cyclops clawed at Mitchell's arm with all his might to no avail. Finally, annoyed with the cyclopsis clawing, Mitchell smashed his head into the hard ground and ripped it off with the spine attached. Mitchell then sliced open the eye to reveal a shiny golden ball within the center. Mitchell crushed it and absorbed the ability. He promptly left the village right after, leaving the mutilated corpse of the cyclops to be found in the morning. This was the main reason for the Human/Cyclops war in which took place over the next 300 years that led the Cyclops population on that world to extinction.
-You will be capable of seeing status windows with detailed descriptions of any object you want to. Capable of viewing the full stats and skills of any person or weapon. Capable of peeking up to five minutes into the future.
"I remember that one well, cool abilities, right?"
Is this man serious right now?
"Bro, what the fuck? You murder a saint and drive a whole race into extinction just for a dude's eye?"
"Well, yeah, but it was a pretty cool eye."
Can't really argue against that logic I guess, I am the one who wanted the skill anyway.
"Alright," Mitchell began speaking once more, "with that all out of the way, now that you have selected all of your abilities, I will be sending you off back to your body with a few bits of information."
"Ah, okay, thanks."
Mitchell stood in front of me with his finger pointed in one.
"First off, now that the author has dipped, I will have full control over the direction of this story. This means that I will be changing the events that will happen quite a bit "
"What!?" I gasped in shock at his words.
"Now calm down just a minute, I'm not going to change when or where the events happen, I'll simply make the difficulty higher so that you and whoever you're with becomes stronger. However, this includes events that happen to Aaron."
I breathed a sigh of relief when he finished. While it's unfortunate it's not only for me, it's better like this. I'm glad he didn't decide to change the plot entirely.
"Now, you might be wondering about why I'm doing this, but don't worry, This is all just for entertainment."
"Entertainment? What if I die a gruesome death?"
"Um, first off, you won't," He sighed, "You're the main character, let's be real now."
"Eh? Bu-"
"Secondly!" Mitchell's loud robot-like voice cut off my sentence, "It's highly likely that the Author is hiding out within the same novel you were transported in. So keep an eye out for characters that you didn't see in the original work."
"Really?" I was initially excited to be able to meet the author who wrote my favorite novel, but I immediately frowned, "Wait, the novel wasn't too keen on details, so just about any background character would have never been mentioned."
"Ha, I know, I was just fucking with you."
What a god damned asshole.
"But if you do find them, try to become their friend. I peeked into that person's life, and I think they really need someone by their side." Mitchell sounded unusually serious when he spoke about the author. If I didn't know any better, I'd say that he was actually a nice person.
"And that brings us to our final piece of information. Lastly, I will be making periodic check ups on you once every year or so. We'll meet in this area when you fall asleep, so you don't have to worry about finding me."
"That's kind of creepy dude."
"Yeah, I know." He chuckles a bit, "Welp, that's everything I guess. I'll send you back to your body now."
Mitchell waved his hand once more and I watched myself slowly beginning to fade away.
"Take care, Jason. Wait, should I call you Raine now?" Mitchell asked while I was leaving the space.
"Jason is fine for now I guess. I would like at least one anchor to my past life."
"Alrighty then," Mitchell nodded, "Take care, and make sure to save Stella. I'm interested in seeing your so-called 'perfect ending' for everyone."
I nodded. I looked at my two hands which were fading in from transparent to invisible. I looked up expectedly and waited to be transported back to my sleeping body. I wondered how much time had passed? Probably not much.
"Oh, one more thing," Mitchell called out, "if you see the goddess or current demon king from the novel, send one my way, y'know."
"Hmm." I thought for a moment before saying, "Nah, I'm good. Maybe I'll sleep with them both instead."
I grinned and Mitchell started laughing, "Alright, you do that man. Peace out."
And with those final words, I left the domain in which I was held. From my shoulder, I could feel a small hand nudging me.
"...Raine."
The small voice slowly grew louder.
