Commander Lucas Winch was sitting in his office going over FLT Kenna Mackenzie's file he felt bad for what he had done to the star hawk team, but he had no choice. He could not afford to offend any of them. The file in front of him was amazing, full of so many recommendations it made his own file look like it was somehow lacking.
However, there were also complaints that tarnished it slightly, the video file attached to the biggest complaint made the complaint obvious bull dung. Since she had left boot camp, more had been added from officers in the Twiddles' clan, stating that FLT Kenna Mackenzie had incited a war in their territories. This was a way to get back at a Sergeant Eloana Twiddles from their clan. This was for some perceived slight that Kenna had taken as an unreasonable attack against herself.
Personally, he hoped she actually was, the level of disrespect the Celestial Count clan was showing towards someone that was meant to be in a Celestial Marquess-Tak clan was shocking. On the other hand, one's military service and your clan were meant to be kept separate. The complaints went on to warn future commanding officers of Kenna Mackenzie to be careful when bringing Kenna into their command.
This is why none of his officers had wanted to take the risk, forcing him to assign her to one of his own drop carriers for her to ferry drop-ships into the atmosphere. He was pissed at the Twiddles' clan for doing this to Kenna. He had originally wanted the star hawk team to build a drop-ship squadron or perhaps an entire platoon, removing the drop pilots from the ground forces command chain and creating a new command chain with the Star hawks leading it.
However, because none of his officers had wanted her, he was forced to put on a dog and show pony interview for her. In hopes that she would accept that there was nothing that could be done about her team splitting up. He had even used the celestial Emperor in the speech, hoping this would alleviate some of the fall-out that the Celestial clans were going to throw his way.
Lucas had indeed shortly after received a great deal of complaints and you better explain yourself messages from those celestial clans. He had to explain why he had done it and send them copies of the complaints the Twiddles' clan had attached to Kenna’s file.
He let out a loud sigh as he closed the file and looked at the holographic screen in front of him. The screen was displaying the estimated time of arrival for Terance exit from subspace at a combat zone Solar System where he had been ordered to drop players onto a bug planet. A second carrier was also on its way, and they were meant to arrive at the same time.
They were carrying the other team of players that was meant to fight his players for ownership of the planet. He knew towns and stuff would be set up and all sorts of player shenanigans were going to happen, turning the entire planet into a sort of pvpve type scenario. That would last centuries.

“I hope they wipe the Twiddles clan out soon and purge the complaints from Kenna’s file so I can get her star hawk team back together. Then I will be able to train my drop pilots to be better at their jobs. Hopefully before this land grab mission is complete, or the planet is destroyed. Maybe after I have my pilots trained up a bit more, I will have an easier time coming out on top in the future.”

Ashley Mackenzie was so excited when the card turned gold that she had done a dance of excitement right there before snatching the card and running for the rig. She had in her excitement left the door open while she ran around the long arm that descended from the ceiling into the middle of the pod shaped room. It ended In a flat piece of metal with a slot in the centre just big enough for the card. Ashley quickly inserted the card and heard the door close. But she didn't pay any attention to that, her excitement at what she thought this card would do was blinding her to all else. A transparent window with blue fire licking the borders appeared in front of the panel.
Guild Scion Ashley Mackenzie do you wish to log in?
Yes/No
“Yes!” She squealed Excitedly.
The next thing she knew, she was standing in a grassy field that stretched as far as the eye could see. However, in front of her stood herself staring back at her. She thought she looked rather beautiful with her straight ginger hair falling down her back, she had freckles across the bridge of her cute button nose. She smiled, but the her in front of herself did not smile back. This caused her to frown in confusion. Was this not a mirror of herself, perhaps it was another person that just looked like her, trying to creep her out. She discarded that thought quickly, because if it had been true, then they would have yelled boo or something by now.
Ashley could not figure out what was going on until she had the thought that the her she was staring at would look cuter as an elf. This thought had led the woman standing in front of her to morph, becoming taller and a bit thinner. Her skin shifted, losing its blemishes and freckles. The tips of her ears extended into points and within three seconds an elf version of herself was standing in front of her staring down at her. A tattoo showing a weird symbol slowly appeared on the left side of her neck. It was placed discreetly so as not to draw attention. A line sprouted off it into a holographic screen with the symbol on the screen. It quickly started spinning and morphing until it was in English. ‘Player.’
“Holy mother, flapping figgy pudding! I love it!” she squealed in delight.
The woman vanished, leaving behind only the screen that now read. ‘Character Accepted. Character customisation complete. Logging In!’ The world around her vanished and in its place was a hall as she turned her head looking around at all the little shops surrounding the hall. She could see one with guns on the walls, another had what looked like white plastic armour in the window. There were also dozens of people, dressed in green camo, walking through it.
“Where am I?”
Ashley turned around to look behind her, spotting a huge sign that read ‘First Time? Come inside and learn about the game’ she quickly walked over to the desk by the sign looking at the man sitting behind it as he stared at a screen in the desk. He looked up at her approach and smiled to her.
“Welcome to the game, player! How can I help you today? Or perhaps you would like me to answer that question you asked? Yea? You, my dear new player, are on board the Galactic Federation Carrier Terance.”
