CHAPTER 27: THE HOSTILE!

CHAPTER 27: THE HOSTILE!

The command table was displaying the droids leaving the dry dock area and marching across the city-less city towards the hangars to collect the ores when Zeo looked up from it to nod her head at me.

“Yes, of course. To fix your problem, you will need to become a legitimate Solar Tak. You can do this by taking the skiff to… uh, what's your furthest planet from the sun that no one has a claim over?”

“Pluto” I replied by reflex before I paused to consider how true that statement was. I continued slowly. “I think, scientists on the planet below keep changing its designation, it used to be a planet then it got downgraded to a moon without a planet then I think it was listed as an asteroid before being changed to a dwarf planet. And there might be more dwarf planets out that far, but I'm not sure.

“Uh, alright. Let's go with Pluto. You will need to take your skiff out to this Pluto dwarf planet and land on its surface. Don't worry, I brought a gift for you to set up here in your guild hall, it is a printer that is set to print my own clan's space suits. They are skin tight full bodysuits that cover from your toes to your neck. Once you are wearing it, it will then form a transparent shield around your head and provide you with fresh oxygen. Completely safe and can be worn under your normal clothes… Uh, right back to the point. Haha. Well, when you land on Pluto, you need to exit your skiff and stand on the planet's surface. Once you are standing there all you need to do is say ‘I Kenna Mackenzie Scion of Mackenzie Clan hereby claim this celestial object as my personal property.’ that will make you, Kenna, the planetary king of Pluto. Then you just do that to each planet and dwarf planet or moon as you work your way back to this planet below. I would skip it and continue to grab all the Celestial objects that are unclaimed by anyone else. If someone does have a claim to even an acre of land, the system will inform you that you can not claim all the land. And then inform you who has a claim and how much of a claim there is on the celestial object.”

I slowly nodded my head as I glanced down at the command table, watching the droids move the ores towards a spot on the north-eastern side of the habitat.

“Getting all the celestial objects would probably take me the better part of a couple of days.” I mumbled as my eyes tracked the marching droids.

“In a C9 skiff, yes, most likely.” Zeo replied as her eyes dropped from my face to track the droids as well

“That explains how I become a planetary king of each place, but not how I become an actual Solar Tak.”

“Oh, once you have a majority ownership of the solar system you are recognised as the true owner of the solar system, and you are ranked up to Solar Tak. The reason you word the claim the way I told you to is so you, Kenna Mackenzie, become the planetary king and not your clan. That way, no one in your clan can claim to own more land than you and usurp your control of the guild. But as a member of the clan, your entire clan benefits from your rise.”

The droids had arrived at the warehouse construction zone and started putting the ore down off to the side, but one of them had not done this, instead it walked into the middle of the construction zone and from what I could tell. It sort of looked like it was melting the ore in its hands, then spreading it out in a wave to land on the construction area that was then self building the foundation of the warehouse. A 1% had appeared in the middle of it. Next to a countdown timer starting at 6:00:00.

“There you go Kenna, you will have your warehouse in six hours. And then the droids will begin construction on your skiff.” Zeo said to me excitedly.

As I stood there watching the droids slowly build the warehouse, a thought crossed my mind and I turned to look At Zeo.

“Wait, do You know who Sutori is?”

Travis shifted uncomfortably Before he answered me for the group.

“Uh, yea he is Sutori Twiddles, some military officers in my clan have been trying to build a case against him for a while. Our belief is that he is using his position to place recruits in boot camps above their skill level in hope they will wash out permanently. It's not exactly illegal or abuse of power, as he has claimed in the past that he thought they could handle the challenge and wanted to give them the opportunity to rise to their potential. Not all recruits fail, so it's hard to prove he is doing it out with malicious intent. However, they are always placed where another member of the Twiddles clan has control over their training, and the training seems more challenging than it should have been. In your case, my cousin says you offended Sutori somehow, and he decided to overreach and instead of sending you where fewer people would have noticed, he sent you to a celestial camp where everyone would notice. The likely reason was for you to mess up so badly and be caught out that it would have angered enough celestial clans that they would have wiped out your solar system. However, when you went to the training like a Bilto to air, it forced your twiddle training officer to really overreach and by doing so she offended a scion of the celestial duke clan with the way she treated his men. This caused the celestials to come down on them instead. Which left all the celestials thinking you were one of them, but none of us knew which clan you were from, so they are treading Carefully in case you are from a higher clan than themselves. My clan doesn't, now, as I have been keeping them informed of my findings as requested... and I have no doubt those two have been doing the same. But on the bright side, my clan has declared war on the Twiddles clan and has started moving carriers and warships to take their land from them.”

“So has mine”

“Mine too”

“You see Kenna, you impressed a lot of powerful people or enough people that they influenced your status in the military enough that our clan's leaders have decided they want you in the war effort and have decided to give you a chance.”

Zeo waved her hand in front of Travis and drew my attention to herself before she took over the talking.

“Our recommendations to have you remain the leader of our team even after boot camp is probably a part of that influence that swayed them to keep you, but that means the three of us are now also responsible for you, since you are not actually a celestial, but we have already vouched for you.”

She turned her head, looking down at the progress the droids were making. I checked too and saw they were now at 3%. I then looked back at Zeo who was staring intently at my face.

“Kenna, we are going to need to teach you the celestial code of conduct and help guide you into becoming a celestial Tak, but it is now time for us to talk business, and I am afraid our friendship has no place in it.”
