The first thing I noticed when I regained consciousness was an annoying beeping sound. It took me a few more seconds to finally crack open my eyes. The second thing I noticed was a blue window screen hovering about a foot from my face. Before my eyes could focus enough on what it said, I noticed the third thing. Two women were standing with their hands behind their backs on each side of the room's exit, wearing a Giorgio Armani Pure Silk Crêpe Tuxedo. I groaned at the sight of them as I turned my head to the other side of what was quickly becoming obvious to be a hospital room. I spotted a grey-haired gentleman wearing a suit just as expensive looking, slouched in a seat in the corner asleep. A man stepped forward out of the shadows, placing a hand on his shoulder and shook him awake.
“My Lord, the young miss is awake,” he said before stepping back into the shadow.
“Get the doctor!” he responded instantly before straightening in his chair and getting to his feet.
The two women by the door vanished instantly, just to come back a few seconds later, standing at their posts as if they had never left. My vision had cleared enough that I could see properly again, and I could now recognise my father standing by the machines reading their info. My eyes shifted back to the blue window screen, reading it.
Welcome! You have been initiated into the Galactic system!
The system is currently evaluating the initiation event. Please wait seventy-two hours for the evaluation to be completed.
After I finished reading it, the window vanished and was replaced with a new one a few seconds later. My eyes glanced over to my father who had started rubbing his chin as he watched the monitors, I could see him glancing at the door every few seconds. I smiled and directed my eyes back to the blue window.

The blue screen hung in the air after I finished reading it. Frowning slightly, I read through it again. I was about to make a decision when the door opened and a man in a white coat entered the room. Looking at the two women before turning to my father.
“Lord, you requested my presence?”
“Yes. Light sage, my daughter is awake, run a diagnostic on her now.”
The man bowed slightly before turning to me and raising his right hand. A soft white glow appeared around his hand for a few seconds before it vanished back into his skin, and he then lowered his hand and turned back to my father.
“The diagnostic is complete. The young miss has been recovering for four weeks and the diagnosis indicates she will require another week before full recovery. The head wound is fully healed, but the bruising on the brain is taking its time. The system has not completed the initiation yet, the chosen class is still pending. Two titles have been equipped. Of course, there is the expected clan scion title, but your daughter has also received the rare title, survivor's guiding light,” He paused to look at me for a few seconds before continuing. “Considering how much your young miss loves her car, I would not be surprised if she was being offered a pilot's class.”
My father turned away from the monitors to look at the light sage, a small smile appearing on his face as he nodded his head.
“Ha! Survivors guiding light, that is great news indeed.” he then turned to look at me and smiled happier, before continuing. “Okay, now we have gotten the b.s. out of the way, let me ask the important question… how are you feeling, my princess? Anything uncomfortable? Causing you to worry?”
“My car?” I croaked, feeling my throat rough and a little dry, causing me to cough.
I saw the slight smile before it vanished just as quickly.
“I made sure it was airlifted with you when you were brought home to Inverness. Your car is in perfect working order, undamaged and back home, it is being looked after and was cleaned.”
The light sage moved to my bedside table and poured a glass of water before sliding a straw into the glass and offering it to me as my father spoke. I nodded in appreciation after drinking slowly.
“My daughter. Let us now talk about your initiation. I intended for this to happen a few more years from now once you had come home. But here we are. Now, with your scion title, you will only be offered noble classes thanks to my position as a clan leader in the galactic system. That would mean you are offered three classes, but the good doctor here said you might have a fourth, the pilot?”
I nodded my head and slowly responded “Yes, knight, artisan, sage and void pilot”
I saw the shock on everyone in the room's faces before it was quickly hidden. My father used his fist to cough into it as he looked around the room to the other four people before turning back to me.
“Well, uh, my dearest daughter, you don't want the knight, the young guard on the left side of the door is a knight they are best used for guard duty and leading troops into combat like…oh, like a squad leader for those American seal teams. The sage like the young guard on the right is not a good choice for you either as they tend to be supporting roles. For instance, moving in those squads as medics or working in private hospitals like this one as doctors and nurses. If you don't get a light affinity, then you might get hard work in mines or landscaping for the earth element. Air traffic or maybe weather prediction for the air element. The fire element tends to work as firefighters or crematorium workers. Those of the water element tend to get sent to aqua resources or if they are low in the clan they could be sent to make rain in clan research labs or clan greenhouses. Basically, depending on what affinity you have for each element, you could end up working in any role that would request those spells to help the clan.”
He paused looking me over before continuing a little hesitantly.
“I do not think you will enjoy the artisan class, as it sends you across the world looking for resources only to bring them home to combine them into new things and build something for the clan or to sell to make money for the clan. That leaves the Void pilot. However, I am hesitant to suggest it as nothing is known about this class. It has not been offered before, but since it is a pilot class, I can hazard a guess that it has something to do with flying or driving. However, having said all this at the end of the day, your class choice is your own to decide as you will have to live with it, so my dear daughter, scion of the Mackenzie clan, which class will you pick?”
