Chapter 3: Metallic Madness

Act 2: Eat My Stardust

As Sonic chases after Metal, the robot slows down a bit and looks at him as they keep going.

Metal: Perhaps, I could interest you in a challenge from my creator?

Sonic: Like I'd take a deal from you!

Metal: Do not reject my proposal before you hear it. If you can beat me to the nearest launch base, I shall give the Emerald to you.

Sonic: Heh! Alright! I'll bite. Where's this base?

Metal: It is straight ahead.

Sonic: Then, Eat My Dust!!

Sonic dashes in front of Metal and tries to punch it. The robot then avoids him and keeps going.

Amy: AH!

He sprints after Metal.

Sonic: Crud! Gotta keep her safe somehow. Have to win this thing for real!

He dashes ahead of Metal and it stares at him.

Metal: Is this your greatest speed, Sonic? You are not worthy of your name.

As Metal's engine heats up, he boosts himself far ahead of Sonic.

Amy: No!

Metal: A mere 58 miles per hour and my predecessor is made redundant. You were foolish to ever hope that he could save you.

Just then, Sonic booms ahead of Metal at 60 miles per hour.

Sonic: What'd you say?

Metal: How is this possible? He is nearly the fastest animal on Mobius.

Sonic: What's the matter? Can't catch up? Maybe you're getting redundant.

Metal: We shall see.

Metal boosts itself forward as fast as it can, but Sonic is the first to step onto the massive launch base. There are robots everywhere and steel roads that lead somewhere.

Sonic: Hah! Guess you're just Toooo slow for me!

Metal: I would have won if my creator knew of your true speed.

Sonic: But! You didn't. And, That's what matters.

Metal: It shall not happen again.

Metal takes the Chaos Emerald out of itself, drops it on the floor, and crushes it under its steel foot into several pieces.
