Instead of knocking on their front door, I snuck in the stable and made my way to an empty stall. I strip to my briefs and tear some of the cloth from my shirt and tie them around my wounds.
After handling that, I feel myself dozing off so I place a few stacks of hay into a pile to rest on.
I awoke to the sounds of voices outside the doors. I couldn't tell what the exact time was but I must have been asleep for five or six hours, If the darkness of the sky was anything to go by.
The sounds of creaks and old metal in need of a lather resounds. I hid behind the door of the stall I was currently occupying.
I hear a woman's voice...complaining about cheating men, moving in with her mother...and the blood stains I left trailing.

I could tell she was following it, a source of light; lantern, was drawing near. In a few seconds she stood on the opposite side of the stall. I held my breath.
Immediately after the door opens I rush out and slam my shoulder into her. I knocked the lantern and the broom she had out of her hands. Oh...she must have thought I was an injured animal. haha.
She pathetically scrambled to her feet but the point of my sword to her chest was quicker and made her halt like a deer in headlights.
"Scream and---"
"Mom! Dinner's ready! I'll finish setting the table, okay?"
"---I will kill the child while you watch."
She nods and I tell her to respond as if everything is normal. She nods again.
"Okay, honey...RUN AS FAR--"
She gets caught off by a hook that rattled her brain.
"Are you okay? What's going on in there?" A curious voice asks as she opens the door.
She was met with a hand around her pulling her in.
