Each day a small increment of drawing will be chipped off the old block, and in time–perhaps–such complexity will seem only natural.

One of the great challenges of animation is cleanup, which is the tracing of frames for scanning. The thickness and shape of every line must match the animator's, and the tracing must also be clean enough to use as the final product. Apparently new animators take around three months to complete their first cleanup assignment–which is, incidentally, the standard probationary period in the industry.
