Chapter 9: Death, Nature, and Life

Chapter 9: Death, Nature, and life

Complete darkness surrounded our bodies, as I screamed my voice slowly became hoarse. I held her in my arms her body was now a corpse. I could feel the warmth leaving her body slowly, her heartbeat, had disappeared. Suddenly I felt something wet trickling down my cheeks, tears.I was crying, for the first time in who knows how many years?

I hadn’t expected it. I never expected to lose someone so dear to me, I never expected the Demon Master to not only be healed, but to be an immortal. I don’t know why, but I somehow always expected everything to go my way. It always has, I’ve never been met with any real setbacks. Never lost anyone.

Rag here: What about his sister?

Back when I fought the Drake, I was always confident I would win. We were never in any true danger. But, this was different. This time we met someone far, far more powerful than us, and we even knew he existed. But still, I didn’t expect him to be here.

Was he ever even wounded?, but how long ago was that? Who said he hadn’t recovered a long time ago, and was training, in seclusion. He was an immortal. It’s impossible for him to achieve such power out of nothing.

But I never expected him, none the less, and now? Amelia! I can’t believe it, I can’t!

The tears continued flowing down my cheeks, when a sound escaped my mouth,

“AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!” I screamed, in sorrow, in mourning, in rage. The sight before me, the reality before, tore me apart. Then suddenly,

“Sigh,”

I heard a sigh from behind me. I turned around, and there was a middle aged man, wearing completely black robes, which seemed to form into smoke, as it waved off of his body.

“Isaac, my son, this sight pains me. Your wife, Amelia, the first person you ever made a vampire, your first wife, and your first friend, has died,” he said. His words, somehow made me truly realize what had happened, and I couldn’t stop myself from crying.

“Father, you have to do something!” I cried, my voice hoarse,

“Anything, please, I beg you! You’re the God of Death, you govern death, there must be something you can do,” I cried, begging him to help me, to help Amelia. However, he could only sigh further.

“Isaac, my dear son, Amelia has died. There isn’t much I can do. However, her soul is still intact, so she hasn’t truly died. When one’s body dies, the soul usually survives, allowing it to go into the cycle of reincarnation. If the soul is intact, it’s also technically possible for me to revive the deceased, however it’s not allowed, by the Council of Gods. Since I, myself, am a part of the Council, I can’t break the rule.

But there is still a small sliver of hope,” he said. The further he explained, the more despaired I became, however, as those last few words flowed through my mind, a spark lit. The spark of hope, and I would make sure to do everything I could, to keep it alive.

“There’s hope? Tell me, tell me quick!” I urged him, causing a small smile to appear on his face.

“Hehe, this is a more slightly expression. Well, yes, there is hope. As you know, I am the God of Death, so I govern Death. But my sister, your aunt, she governs life. When a God has a child, that child will possess the energy of their parents, for example, you have a large portion of Death Energy in you, and a smaller portion of Nature Energy,” he explained. I was deeply invested in his explanations, however, I couldn’t help but be confused at his last words.

“Nature Energy?” I asked him with a confused expression. My question only caused him to laugh, as if he had forgot to tell me something, which I should definitely have known.

“That’s right, I never told you. Well, the Nature Energy comes from your mother of course, the Goddess of Nature! You see, your mother, is the Goddess of Nature, Delia, and she is also my wife. One day, you will surely get to meet her, but it will have to wait for now. I’m the only one capable to see you, by taking you to this realm. I’m the only one capable of coming in, and this realm was created solely for us to commune. Every God with a child has one of these. But Delia can’t come here, since you didn’t inherit her Godhood, but mine. So yeah, you can’t see her, until you come to the Divine Realm, and trust me, it bugs her. After all, she’s your mother. But look at me, I’m babbling.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

Back to the matter at hand. You have inherited my Death Energy, and your mothers Nature Energy, however you don’t have as much Nature Energy as Death Energy. But other than this, you also possess a small portion of Life Energy. You see, even though I’m the God of Death, I also have a small portion of Life energy, like my sister also has a small portion of Death Energy. This is because of our parents, who also were Death and Life Gods.

And thus, you also have some Life Energy. And this Life energy, can be used to revive people, if you have the right tools. However, you have far too little Life energy. Only someone born from my Sister, whether that person would inherit her Godhood, or the father’s, would be able to revive someone.

However, my sister has no children,” he said.

“Then how am I supposed to revive Amelia?” I asked desperately.

“Well, you see, you have a brother. Your brother, who inherited your mother's Godhood,” he said, causing me to freeze a moment. I had a brother? When did that happen?

“Hehe, I see your surprise. However, your brother is far, far older than you. He was around even before the last vampire progenitor was around. He’s also very strong. He would have been able to kill Allpos with only a stare. However, as he is your brother, he is naturally my son, therefore, he also has a bit of Life Energy. However, I’m not completely sure where he is.

He lives in a domain hidden from a God's sight. Not even your mother can see through it, but that’s only because we made it. He said he didn’t like us being able to see everything he does. By the way, we can see everything you do, both me and your mother. She can see you, she just can’t talk to you, or come near you.

Rag here: Kind of creepy that they can always see you.

But yeah, we don’t know where the domain is, only the general location. I’ll send you to the general location, but be warned! It’s composed of a hundred continents, and they’re all close to the center!” He said, once more shocking me. I didn’t know a lot of our world, but I knew it was a big circle, and it tended to get stronger and stronger the farther inn you went.

“Yes, this means you won’t even be considered a super expert there. However, as you know, people get stronger and stronger the farther into the world you get, but that doesn’t mean everyone is super strong. There are countless normal mortals there, but there are also countless Legendary Saints. I guess I should explain to you, how the power ranking works.

As you know, there are Saints, Mythical Saints, and Legendary Saints, and then the illustrious Immortals. However, it doesn’t stop here. After all, we gods aren’t just simple Immortals. After the normal Immortal, there is the Mystic Immortal, and then the Exalted Immortal.

These are the three stages of an Immortal, but it still doesn’t stop there. After becoming an Exalted Immortal, you can become an Eternal Soul. An Eternal Soul, is someone who sheds their mortal body, and became an Eternal Soul. They are able to freely create new bodies, but it isn’t all powerful. They’re still a bit stronger than Exalted Immortals, but all the Eternal Soul is, is a prerequisite.

You see, becoming an Eternal Soul, is necessary, if you want to become a Demi God. And when I say Demi God, I don’t mean the kind like you, who are born from Gods, but the stage of power, just before full Godhood. A Demigod is extremely powerful, and is the peak of this world. A single Demi God can easily kill all the Exalted Immortals of this world.

But there are very few of them, and the reason for this is, most Demigods go to the Divine Realm, after ascending. However, there are still a few that stay for various reasons.

And where you are going, there is one Demi God, however you shouldn’t worry about him. Just make sure to be careful about whom you offend, since you aren’t all that powerful there yet. However, before I send you away, I have a small gift for you, my son. You see that technique you train in, isn’t very suited for you. Sure, it might give good results now, but in the future it will bite you in the back. Not that it is a bad technique, it’s actually a very good one. But it was made by one of my sworn enemies, so it’s not very good for Death or Nature energy. It is however good for Life Energy, for a particular reason, which is also why it worked so well for you.

However, it will only hurt you in the future. Therefore, you shall train in my technique, the ‘Death Lord Art’. It will train your body to extreme extents, even more than the ‘Way of the Chaos God’ and it will train you to use your Death Energy. Other than that, I also have a gift from your mother.

It’s the ‘Fairy Art’, the same one your brother mainly trains in. It focuses on speed, and will teach you to use your Nature Energy. As for your Sword Technique, it’s a very good, one of my worshippers created it, so it fits you perfectly. I would give you a sword technique of my own, but that’s not allowed by the Council, as it would make you too strong.

Well then, I’ll send you off now. Oh, and I’ll take care of Amelia’s body and soul, so don’t worry about that. Now, off with you, my son!” Gebados said, as he waved his hand, and suddenly, the scenery around me changed.

End of chapter 9.
