Chapter 7: Standing

Cheng Tong, Cheng Hong and Cheng Miu. Three people. So far we had eliminated three people of the Cheng clan. We still needed to kill five more. There was the master of the Cheng family, Cheng Teng. His wife, Cheng Ming. Their two sons, Cheng Rong and Cheng Rang, and lastly their daughter Cheng Song. These five people we needed to kill, one by one, letting the seed of fear sprout into a magnificent tree of horror.

After one more person died, it was very likely that they would decide to leave the city, not caring about their businesses. But that wouldn’t help them, for Kato was always observing, stalking them, like a shadow. We decided to make our next target Cheng Ming, the wife of Cheng Teng, master of the Cheng clan. But this was a bit tricky, for she never left the mansion these days. Amelia, Kato and I had all been observing her these past weeks, but she had never once left the house. Before she would leave from time to time, but the fear of getting killed kept her inside now.

The only way for us to kill her now, would be to infiltrate the mansion and then kill her. This wasn’t too hard for us, but we would have to be careful. I knew that the Chong family had a D rank under them. This man wasn’t strong enough to pose a threat to us, but if he discovered us, then that would be annoying. If anyone discovered our identities, neither the Coldblood family, nor my little group would be able to stay in the city. Therefore it was essential that we went in, killed Cheng Ming and left, without being discovered. But we also wanted to kill her in a scary way.

We waited until midnight. All four remaining members of the Cheng clan were now sleeping. Only a few guards were away, patrolling the mansion grounds. It was time. I had Amelia and Kato stay behind, as I snuck into the mansion. Jumped over the wall and landed in a corner. I used darkness magic to become invisible in the darkness. From days of observing, I knew where the lady slept. I snuck to wall beneath her window. Covered in shadows, hidden by the night, I climbed up the wall. I appeared below the window. I snuck a look inside. They were sleeping. I didn’t immediately go inside. I kept observing Cheng Teng and Cheng Ming as they slept for two hours. I had to be completely sure that they were asleep.

After two long hours of observing and waiting, I finally opened the window, slowly. I snuck inside, silent as the wind. I walked slowly over to the sleeping Cheng Ming. I stood above her. With a contemptuous look I slowly took out a knife. I help the knife over her chest. I stabbed into her chest. The knife pierced trough her skin and entered her heart. She died. After the deed was done, I hurriedly left, leaving the knife in the heart. Just like that Cheng Ming had died, right next to her sleeping husband, not noticing a thing.

I left the compound and met up with Amelia and Kato again. We didn’t immediately leave. We waited for a while, when we all of a sudden heard a heart piercing scream come out of a certain room in a certain mansion.

He had woken up. The blood had flowed out of her, like a spring of blood. Cheng Teng had eventually woken up from being soaked in blood, and had found her wife with a knife piercing her heart. Judgement had fallen. The Cheng family had had kill the wife of Bogat Coldblood, so therefore the Cheng family had been hunted, several members of the clan killed.

The guards hear the scream. They immediately rushed to master bedroom. Inside they were shocked as they saw the state of Cheng Ming. Immediately after, the guards rushed all the compound, looking for the killer. After they couldn’t find anyone, they expanded their search to outside the mansion grounds. But to no avail, because no matter how they searched, they never found anyone. We were still observing, hidden by the shadows. Soon all four of the remaining members of the Cheng clan had gathered. All the guards had gathered as well.

“Everyone, my wife, Cheng Ming, has died. She was stabbed with a knife, right in the heart. I was sleeping right next to her, but I didn’t notice anything as the assassin killed her. We need to leave this city. This assassin is not someone we can deal with, if we stay any longer all of us will eventually die. We need to take this opportunity, as the assassin has already left. Everyone, gather your important items. We leave in fifteen minutes”

Cheng Hong said with a somber voice. There was anger, sadness and despair present in his voice. Fifteen minutes later, they had gathered again. Thus they left the city, thinking that we had already left, since they couldn’t find even a sign of me.

We silently followed them in the darkness, until we were outside of the city. When we had gotten a good distance away from the city, we decided that it was time. Like a flash we appeared a dozen meters in front of them. They looked at us with shock. This speed was so shocking that they had not even seen us coming. The only one that could see us, was the D rank Guard captain, but even for him we were only a blur. Soon after Kato also appeared behind us. He was still quite a bit slower than us, even though the maturity period had long passed. He was currently at the middle D rank. Amelia had also reached the middle C rank, now being two stages beneath me.

“You really think you would be able to escape?” I asked with contempt, a mocking smile on my face.

“You! Are you the one who killed all my children and wife?!” Cheng Teng asked with fury ever apparent in his voice.

“Yes. You killed the wife of my dear friend Bogat Coldblood. The only natural response is to exterminate you clan. But first let’s deal with those puny guards.”

I said and gestured for Amelia and Kato to follow me and massacre the guards. Our bodies flashed and blood started flowing. Limbs were chopped of and necks broken. A moment later, thirty guards, including the D rank one, were strewn around the ground. The Cheng family was looking at us, terrified.

“Now witness, as we kill the rest of your family in front of your eyes.” I said menacingly as I walked towards Cheng Song. I stood before and grabbed her shirt and tore it off. Her two naked breasts appeared before, then my hands flashed, and they fell down. The girl screamed in agony as her two mountain peaks fell to the floor. I grabbed her neck and let my teeth sink into her. In but a moment, her body laid lifeless on the ground. Cheng Teng and his sons looked at me, madness in their eyes.

“Monster!” They screamed at me. My body flashed and I stood before Cheng Rong. I grabbed his head and shoulder, then pulled. With my monstrous strength I tore his head apart from his body. He screamed as he could feel his flesh tear from his body. A moment later another dead body decorated the ground. My body flashed once more, as I stood before Cheng Rang. I punched him in the stomach. He flew a dozens of meters back, but still survived. I didn’t kill him yet on purpose. I flashed once more, then I stood before him again. I stepped on his knee. Crack! His knee shattered and Cheng Rong let out an ear shattering scream. I stepped onto his other knee. Once more he let out a scream that didn’t even sound human. Then I stepped on his shoulder, completely shattering it. Now he couldn’t even scream any louder. I stepped, another shoulder shattered. Now all his limbs were broken beyond repair. I placed my foot on his chest. Then I slowly put more and more force into it, until his chest started cracking. I was wrong, because when his chest caved in, Cheng Rong let out another scream so loud and horrendous that it seemed like his entire life essence was put into it. Then the life in his eyes slowly faded, as he died.

Now there was only one man left. Cheng Teng. Cheng Teng couldn’t even speak anymore, from the sorrow of watching his children get tortured to death. I slowly walked towards him. I grabbed his head with both my hands. Then I put pressure into them, and Cheng Teng started screaming. After who knows how long of heart shattering agony, his head finally exploded.

They were all dead. We finally burned all the bodies to ashes to finish up. We were finally finished. I hadn’t had so much fun ever before. Listening to their screams as I tortured them to death. Watching them as the fear grew in their heart, until the final moment where I could kill them all. This was true entertainment. It’s not that I was a complete psycho though. It’s not like I would go torture random people. Them I would usually kill quickly. But these people killed the wife of my “dear” friend Bogat. I couldn’t let them suffer and easy death, now could I?

With this business finished, we returned to Fenlai City. After returning we immediately went to the Coldblood mansion. We didn’t care that they were probably asleep, they should be getting up soon anyway, as the sun was rising in the sky. We entered the mansion uninhibited. The guards there had often seen us before, and didn’t even dear to try and stop us.

We sat in the room that we usually met in, waiting for Bogat to get there. An hour later he finally appeared.

“I’m sorry for being late, I didn’t even know you were here. Now tell me, has another one of those bastards died?” Bogat said hopefully.

“They’re all dead now. The Cheng family in no more.”

I said to Bogat, and explained to him the events of the night.

“Great! This is great! They’re all dead now. Not only has my wife been avenged, now I’ll also be able sweep in and take their businesses. This will increase my influence here in the city exponentially. Now the Coldblood family will be the biggest influence in Fenlai City, under the government. Now tell me, is there anything you want? I’ll give you anything, from money to women. I’ll even give you my own daughter, if you want her!” He said excitedly.

“Tell me Bogat, have you ever heard of Vampires?” I asked.

“Vampires? Well, yes, who hasn’t? Do need books on them or something?” he replied with a question.

“Not exactly. Do you remember that other day, when you asked me to kill the Cheng family? That day you said there is more to me than meets the eye. That is very correct, for you see, I am a vampire. The first vampire in several millennia. Now, I give to you an opportunity. The opportunity to join the ranks of immortals. Will you serve me and become a vampire? Yes, or no?”

I looked at him. Both he and Serana were looking at me in shock. Then Amelia, then Kato. They now understood why we were so powerful, and why Kato had seemingly changed ever since joining us. They were vampires! The vampires from legends! The immortal vampires, ruler of the night! This was the taught that went through their heads.

I stood waiting patiently for his answer.

“You’re really vampires? Even the first in millennia? Will we really become immortal if we accept? Will we have to drink blood? What about sunlight, I have seen you out in the sun?”

He asked question after question, Expectation in his eyes.

“Yes we are really vampires. Kato too. And yes I am the first, personally created by God of Death Gebados. Yes you will become immortal. You will stop aging completely. And yes. You will have to drink blood. And the sun is just a bit of an irritation.” I answered repeatedly, my voice becoming more serious at that last sentence.

There was a moment of waiting.

“Alright, if Serana accepts as well, then we’ll join you.” He said as he looked at Serana.

Serana looked back at her father, then at me. Another moment of waiting.

“Okay, I accept.” She said in a small voice.

“Bring five servant slaves here. You will need to drain two of them of their blood each. The other one is for me.”

I said. A moment later five girls appeared in the room. They didn’t know what they were here for. They were just ordered to stand there, not making a sound. I walked over to Serana. I stroked her cheek, then kissed her neck. I let my teeth sink into her skin. The blood flowed into my mouth, until she was almost drained of blood. Then the venom flowed into her body. I made her a powerful vampire, the same as I did with Amelia when I made her. That drained half of my energy. After I was finished, Serana fell to the floor, unconscious. Bogat looked at her with worry. I told him not to worry, that it was the normal reaction. Then I walked in front of him, and let my teeth sink into his body as well. When he was almost drained, the venom flowed as well. I made him just as powerful as I did Serana and Amelia. Now I had barely any mana and blood essence left. I walked to prettiest of the slave girls, then quickly drained her of blood. The other girls screamed in horror, but were quickly subdued by Kato and Amelia. We waited for an hour before they woke up.

“Good, you’re awake. Now that you have become vampires, you will need to drink blood. The first time, you need a lot of blood. You will have to drain two of these girls each.”

They both nodded and walked over the girls. Serana quickly bit into one of them and drained her of blood. There was an ecstatic expression on her face. Bogat did the same and also seemed to enjoy it. Soon there were four more corpses on the floor, accompanying the first slave girl. These Coldbloods really lived up to their name, not minding to kill four innocent girls. I liked it.

“Good, you did well. Now I need you to prepare a room for me. I have to go hibernate for a while. I spent a lot of energy making you this powerful.” I said in a tired voice.

It really was a good idea to help and turn Bogat and Serana. They were now the biggest business organization in Fenlai Prefecture. They owned almost all the businesses no Fenlai City now, since they were mostly dealt between the Coldblood family and Cheng family. But now Cheng family was no more, so all the businesses went to the Coldblood family. They also had numerous branches in the other cities, so they were an organization that spread all over the Fenlai prefecture. And with the wealth they now possessed, together with their immortality, it was only a matter of time before they expanded all over the kingdom. Although they wouldn’t be able to control the organization openly forever, since that would cause suspicion. At least not until the vampires had been completely established, so that they wouldn’t be eradicated. But this would take a long time. Now the vampires at least had a bit of a standing in the world. But it was still nowhere near enough.

I was soon led to a secluded room with a bed in it. I immediately laid down in the bed. I was very tired now. I soon felt my consciousness fade away as I fell into a deep sleep.
