Rise of the Forgotten
Interlude: Sightseeing

Interlude: Sightseeing

With the siege of Earth finished I used it as a stable launching point. I would use it to launch attacks against other key planets across the federation and capture as many major politicians as we could. Once we had enough I would then contact the major influencers of each race. There might be thousands upon thousands of them but I had Erendial and Aldion that could find out who they are and send messages to them.

These influencers would then try to sway the species opinion about the Tailmen. Once the species' opinion had swayed enough I would have Erendial and Aldion sent out messages stating that we could negotiate about them coming under our banner. This would be easier than just seizing each planet over decades.

Once Earth had been taken under control I had sent out orders for the remaining fleets in the galaxy to go after the other founding species planets. This was to hope that after capturing them and showing the strength of our fleets that the federation would capitulate. If they didn't then I would sneak my to the president and then have her call an emergency meeting. When all of the senators had gathered I would have my fleet invade.

This would be my final option though. I didn't want to truly force them into surrendering when they had no choice. Instead, I hope that with the capturing of these planets that, while they might not have any other choice, it was still their choice to surrender. This would make me look less like a tyrant and more like an unstoppable force. Should this option happen then changing the public's opinion would only take time.

I waited on Earth as the fleets commenced their attacks. I would watch each of the attacks as they happen. I would help if they needed it, though I doubted it. They would be attacking in a couple of days and in the meantime, I would be sightseeing. There are many things I would like to see on the planet like the Monalisa. Also the great pyramids and the roman coliseum. This would be time for my guards to relax as they hadn't had a true relaxation period for around 92 years. They deserved it.

I took shuttles around the planet taking my time visiting each location while hiring a local guide. I visited the pyramids first as they are some of the most ancient monuments built on earth. The humans had worked hard over the many years preserving the pyramids and keeping them as whole as they could. I then traveled to the Vatican and walked around the massive church. This place has been the center of the Catholic religion for millennia.

After visiting it I walked around the streets of Rome and tried local cuisine. I walked and came upon the massive Colosseum and walked in the stands. I then traveled to various other places and tried their cuisine. I stood in Jerusalem and visited Stonehenge. I walked to the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa and walked along the Great Wall of China. I stood at the top of the Eiffel Tower and visited the Taj Mahal. I sailed by the Statue of Liberty and visited Notre Dame.

I walked into St. Basil's Cathedral and gazed upon the Berlin Wall. I visited the Forbidden City and toured the Acropolis. I entered the White House and visited the immortal queen in Buckingham Palace, she was delightful. I saw Pompeii and gazed upon Christ. I climbed the Mayan pyramids and entered Angkor Wat.

I tasted pizza made from all over the world. I ate hamburgers made by all kinds of fast food joints. I ate curry and ramen. Devoured dumplings and rice. Ate steaks, inhaled spaghetti, had a croissant, ate gold. I visited everywhere I could and tried everything I could. I talked to the people and asked about their history.

I learned all sorts of things and enjoyed every minute of it. Nothing could beat learning about another culture right from the source of that culture. It was bliss. Sadly time goes on and the fleets got ready to commence battle.
