Ch. 25 Groups, Notification and Departure

One of the elderly spoke out first. "There are 5 groups that we know of right now," he said without looking me in the eye, "the first is the group we come from, the loyalists, we are loyal to the Alpha and will serve you. The next is a group called the liberated, they believe that we should be free from the Alpha and elect our leaders. They also believe that the Alpha is more of a myth."

"The next group are the Zealots. They believe that the Alpha is a divine being and should be worshiped. They have tried to spread their religion and have only been successful in the Zel' Zari Talimen where it's become a Galactic religion. They are generally peaceful and our group regularly cooperates with them. They don't agree with the liberators though."

"The next two are the worst ones. We call one the corrupted as they are not like the rest of us. They seem to have been mutated in some way and can only mimic others when they consume them. They are normally extremely hostile and very twisted. The Zealots, the Loyalists, and the Liberators each banded together to coral and imprisoned them. We can not kill them and we hope that you can find a way to cure them." He looked at me with a hopeful gaze.

"The last are the ones that are hunted down for the crime they have committed. The Zealots call them Arch heretics and are trying to hunt them all down. We call the traitors. The liberators call them madness incarnate. They committed the gravest crime against our people. They somehow made an artificial Alpha. They are not as powerful nor the same as a real one, but they are still more powerful than the Beta Prime, our most powerful and capable person below the Alpha."

As soon as I heard the crime I made a great recoil, I may have been born a very different way and combined with various souls of my people but I was still a natural Alpha. The mere thought of an artificially created Alpha disgusted me and made me furious. My instincts, my very being was telling me to find and eradicate this 'thing'. In the words of a very popular game and the fictional universe, 'THIS IS HERESY'

First, though I must unite my people and visit the Librarium. As much as I want to utterly destroy this thing I had to visit my homeworld first. After that, it would face my wrath. I would bring down entire solar systems to kill it.

Suddenly, a message popped up in front of me.

The Librarium has appeared.

Directions shall be provided.

I hope to see you soon, Alpha.

The Librarium has appeared. The coordinates were shown and I quickly memorized them. The nanomachines that were improving the ship then increased its movement, building the ship at a faster pace. "Sir the ship will be complete in a few days. Once it is complete and ready I will notify you." Aldion told me.

"Thank you Aldion. Now call the rest of your group and tell them to get here as fast as possible. They only have a few days so if they can't make it tell them to group up and pick a planet to rendezvous at. Once the ship is complete everyone that has arrived will board it and we will leave. Now tell me what each of you can do." I gave out some orders. A couple of the elderly looking people came up and started to tell me what they could do.

Everyone knew some level of combat and medical knowledge. A few knew how to make and operate Empire tech as their ancestors brought data slates that contained the Empires tech. These data slates were modified so that only Omegians could use them. Some are medical professionals so that they could keep up appearances in case they were injured in public. Quite a few were combat specialists, taught how to fight in the most effective techniques in the Empire. There were also a few pilots among them. The rest knew other occupations could fill out other roles and do some manual labor. All in all, I now had a full crew available to me.

You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.

They also told me that they had their ships as well, though not as advanced as mine. I asked them what their ships were made of. Coincidentally they were made of the same materials as my ship and I asked Aldion if we could make the ship even bigger so that it could hold even more people. He said yes. I told them that I planned to use their ship at a later date to make my ship bigger so that we could all be on one ship. They didn't like that idea as it had been their home for quite a while. I then started to rethink the idea and scrapped it. I wouldn't want Aldion to be cannibalized by another ship. I told them not to worry about it.

After listening to the elders tell me about what they could do I then asked them how many would arrive before we had to leave. They told me that only a couple of ships could make it in time and told me that they comprised several hundred people each. This combined with the couple of hundred or so here would make up a nice group of ships and personnel. They told me that each of the ships coming was small cruisers and had more room but needed less crew.

My ship was also going to be the size of a small cruiser, though could be classified as a destroyer because of the sheer firepower it could yield. I would need around a couple of hundred crewmates to fully use the ship to its potential. I would take the extra crewmates from the ships to use for mine. They told me that they did have quite a few extra crew members available.

We left the hangar soon after and I accompanied them to their ship. It was around 400 meters in length and it looked like the rest of the ships available in the galaxy. They told me that they had the hull redecorated to fit the technology available. The ship was like an elongated oval with long fin-like protrusions that didn't come out that far but ran along the hull of the ship on the top, bottom, and on its sides. There were also bulges in between the protrusions.

I entered the ship with my people and checked out the inside. The inside was as big as it usually should be. The Spatial Enlargement technology was only developed and used for my ship. The inside showed its age and had its wear and tear shown. It would still function for quite a while though. There are various pictures and art pieces on the walls secured tightly to the walls. I came across one section that contained multiple plaques with Omgeian text on them. They contained the names of multiple people. One of the elders came up to me.

"These are the names of the deceased. They are the original crew of this ship and the ancestors of all of the people here," she pointed to the first plaque, "the rest of the plaques contain those that either died with age or died protecting the ship and its people." She gestures to the rest of the plaques.

"They shall be remembered for their service. We shall hold a memorial when we have reunited our race and found our planet." I said solemnly.

I entered a large room where I sat down and talked with the elders of the group to get to know them. They lived for several thousand years each and we're nearing their age limit. Their spirits were tired and they wouldn't last more than a couple of years. If they wanted to live longer they would need to visit the homeworld. Our homeworld is very integral to our species and we would be weaker during our lives if we didn't visit it once. This has always been the case.

That is the reason why I wasn't going to wait very long before leaving for the Librarium. Once there I would come into contact with Erendial and they would tell me how to find the homeworld. Once I visited the homeworld would gather the loyalists, the zealots, the liberators, and see if I could help the corrupted. Once I finished that I would unleash a campaign and search for the false Alpha. I would also see what would happen with the zealots and their galactic theocracy.

I left soon after to meditate and sleep in my hotel room. Over the next couple of days, I was led to several ships and met with my people. I picked the remaining crew I needed from them and briefed them on what was happening. I also gave them the money I accrued so that they could resupply and get ready for the journey that was to come. Once Aldion contacted me that the ship was ready I called for the crew that I assembled to meet me at the hangar where my ship was. Once I went inside and viewed my ship.

The ship was around 500 meters long. It's front was wide and had two large engines on both sides. The ship narrowed as it went along until it met with the last large engine at the end. Multiple smaller engines were also built along the hull. There were multiple mounted guns along the hull. The ship is silver in color with black and blue stripes lining the hull. I named it Indomitable. This would become my flagship. This would lead others into battle. This would strike fear into the hearts of my enemies. It would grow with me and improve itself. It would be unbeatable once it grew more. I would make it so.

Once everyone had gathered I told them to board the ship. Once they boarded it I told the other ships to get ready to depart. I gave the crew some time to get to their positions and get used to the ship. A couple of hours later we were ready to depart. I sat in an even better chair than before as I told the pilots to take us out of the hangar. I told the other ships the same. We left the hangar with a hum of the engines and waited for the other ships to gather together with us.

The other ships gathered and we were now a group of ships. There were 7 other ships besides the Indomitable that were part of our small group. I transmitted the coordinates of the Librarium to other ships and waited for them to input it into their computers. Once ready we then slipped into a hidden Sub-Space corridor and warped away in it heading to the Librarium.
