Ch.43 One and the Other

Ch.43 One and the Other

I entered the ship and followed my guards. They led me past the bodies of people who tried to resist and toward the bridge. We walked as the captives looked on to me. Some of my guards had damaged armour but were fine. The ship had a vile and repulsive aura about it. The halls, dark and grim. The people on it were feral and aggressive.

I walked through this ship with a grim look. I could feel the twistedness of their souls. I could feel the darkness and hatred in them as they looked upon me. They wanted me dead. They wanted me torn apart. I knew that they would laugh as they did it. The corruption was embedded deep within every man and woman I walked past.

I could tell that no matter what I did, they wouldn't change. They were too deep in their ways, too engrossed in it. It made them who they were and it was how they looked upon the universe. They believed that they were abandoned by their leader, so they made their own and were shunned for it.

They wanted someone to guide them but they didn't have them. So in their desperation, they created someone to guide them. They succeeded but paid a deep price for it. In their want in creating a leader for them, they had done things that they shouldn't have. They made deals and paid prices with dark beings. They had fallen off the path of rationality and logic.

Now that path led here. Now they gaze upon me, the leader they wanted but didn't have. They gazed upon me as I walked to where their leader was at, as I walked to kill the fruit of their labor. I didn't look at any of them. I couldn't look at them. They made me feel shame at not being there for them, even though I knew I didn't have a choice in the matter.

I felt sadness as I felt the gazes of these people, the hate they felt for me. I walked their halls as they thought I abandoned them. I stopped and turned to gaze into one of the rooms. Inside there was a child, newly born and innocent. He gazed at me as his father hid him behind him. The father had eyes filled with anger and hatred.

I walked into the room as my guards opened a way. I walked to the child peeking from behind his father. I squatted down and looked at the child with a kind gaze. He looked back with eyes filled with innocence. His father spoke.

"What do you want?" He barely held himself back from attacking me. I could see his muscles straining themselves as he held himself back, he knew he would die if he tried to.

"I wanted to speak to your son. Eyes filled with curiosity and innocence. They are nothing like yours nor anyone else." I spoke not lifting my gaze off the child. He tried to come out from behind his father but was held in place.

"I will not let your words poison him. You left us alone against the darkness of space. We prayed and begged for you to come help us but you didn't. Our ancestors died trying to keep us safe and trying to get you to show. When you didn't the smartest of the time came together to create a new Alpha. They succeeded and we were saved. And now you come to take him away from us."

"I could not come to you because I was not born yet. I have no control over the circumstances of my birth just like this child and yet you blame me for that. I also do not come to kill you Alpha just because he lives, no I am having him pay for what he has done." I finally looked him in the eyes and stood up.

"He did what was necessary for our survival! He did what he thought would help our people as a whole! And yet you think he is wrong for doing what you could not? You think he should die for his actions, die for trying to protect his people?" He started to shout.

"Genocide is never needed for protection. Torture and experimenting on living and feeling people is not needed. Forceful brainwashing of people is not needed. He ordered these things for ENTERTAINMENT. He watched as people screamed and begged for mercy. He laughed and made fun of them! Do not dare to tell me that he thought that it was necessary when it is obvious it was not. Some were even children, CHILDREN!!! And yet he still watched and enjoyed it. He will die not because he was born and not because of what his creators did. No, he will die because of what he has done and what he ordered to be done." I roared, my eyes glowing their silverlight. My aura rolled off of me as my anger made itself known. Almost everyone on the ship felt it.

The man before me cowered as he felt it. The people around me, including my guards, strained against it. I calmed down and retracted the aura. I turned away and left the room. I stopped just outside of the room and turned my head to look at the child in the eyes. "You are an innocent child. Pure and uncorrupted. You are the future of these people, their hopes and dreams. Do not become what they want you to be. Become who YOU want to be." I then left down the hall.

I walked down with renewed determination. I walked down the hall as people corrupted but paradoxically innocent gazed at me. I started to radiate a pure and holy aura. I walked with even steps, each foot clanking against the metal underneath me. Some people, the ones not fully corrupted, then kneeled at the shock of the people around them. More joined them as my aura radiated throughout the entire ship. People who couldn't even see me but could feel the aura also knelt.

I walked down the halls to the bridge where he waited. I could feel him. He also started to make his aura known. The corrupted then bowed as they felt it. They got on their knees and placed their heads on the ground. Our auras battled each other. Neither at full strength, they stood neck and neck. Neither overpowering the other.

I traveled the halls like this. As I got closer the strength of our auras started to increase as well. Both getting stronger and stronger. The weaker of my guards started to slow down as they felt this. Some started to stop as I got closer to the bridge. More had to stop as well as I got closer and closer to the bridge. My guards stopped at the doors leading to the bridge, guarding it.

The doors opened as I walked to them. Inside it was just him sitting in his chair. He stayed in his chair as I approached. Neither of us spoke a word as the auras stayed neck and neck. I stopped four meters away from him. We stared at each other with neither of us speaking. I noticed that this happened a lot when I met people. Weird.

"Shall we go now?" He asked.

"Yes," I replied.

We both vanished from the ship releasing everyone from the weight of our auras. Everyone was then shown a screen of both of us on the moon we were around. A vast plain surrounded us. Both of us started to stretch as the wind blew around us. Very cinematic in my opinion.

Then armour and weapons showed up in front of us. He had a rifle and spear as his main weapons with daggers and pistols as backup. His armour was red with golden decorations. It was embellished with gems and had runes all over it. The helmet looked like an eagle head and had some cloth attacked around the waist. It looked very regal and like knight armour. A lot of armour looked like that in the universe. Strange.

His spear had a motif of a snake head just before the spearhead. It had a red pole while its spearhead was yellow. It had runes inscribed all over it and was 230 cm in length. He stood at 200 cm as well.

I was equipped with my halberd and pistol. I had a sword for back up as well as a mace. My armour was black and silver. The main armour had little decorations and had runes inscribed on the inside of it. It also had a coat that went over it that was also inscribed with runes. The armour and coat were both made with the gemstones crushed and infused into them. My helmet was like my guards except it had a deep blue visor that only went over my eyes.

We equipped our armour and weapons. Both of us getting settled into the armour. Neither of us really used armour at all. Only this time did we use it. This showed the respect and seriousness we felt for this battle. Our surroundings quieted down once we finished. We both faced each other. One gaudy and obviously well made and regal. One more tuned down but still radiated a sovereign aura.

Everyone that witnessed this watched with their full attention. No one made a sound and none moved. Their vision set solely on this. We both watched each other, looking for an opening. One, thousands of years old. The other, around a century old. Both were strong and powerful. The sun rose to its zenith. Once there they both vanished from sight before they reappeared again. The fight had begun.
