It was a calm and boring day. The wind felt colder than usual, and the sky was grey. The world seemed dimmer than normal. I sniffed the air. Yuck. The scent reminded me of a dead rabbit that has been lingering outside in the hot sun for several days. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath while softly caressing my stomach. The door behind then started to open. Creak.
“Catherine?” Said a charming voice.
“What is it, Charles?” I replied.
“We finally got a request to take him down from the Jarl of the town.”
“So, they finally found the bastard?” I smirked. “When do we set off to take him down.”
I turned around and saw a man standing in full metal armor. The armor gleamed in the room as the clouds began letting through sunlight. The scent of the dead rabbit began to disappear as the man approached me. His scent reminded me of the forest of my homeland. I braced myself as I saw mouth turned from his usual smirk to a frown.
“I’ll be honest, I don’t think you should come.” Charles sighed.
“Why not? Don’t you know how much harm he has caused me?!”
“And that’s why I think you shouldn’t come along! Your emotions would cloud your judgment!”
“So what?! I can still fight right?! Besides, you’re going to need all the help you can get.”
“Yes, I understand that, but one wrong move and we all can get killed!”
“That’s exactly why you need me! We have known each other since we were kids and we have been in a party together for several years. Which makes me indispensable because I understand all your movements.” I pouted.
“Listen,” Charles said softly as he placed both his hands on my shoulders. “I get it that you are still sad that he killed your entire family, but you have to keep on living.”
“And that’s what I am going,” I said as I slapped his hands off my shoulders. “Whether you like it or not, party leader.”
“Tsk. You really are a stubborn one, aren’t you?” Said Charles as he wrapped his hands around me.

“And that’s why you love, me,” I said as I approached Charles and kissed him on the cheek.
Charles's face then turned red and he tried to hide his smile. He’s so cute when he’s like this. I wish we can have more moments like this. I looked down at my stomach. Maybe it will happen sooner than later.
I lifted my head and stared at Charles’s face. His beautiful brown eyes blended with his smooth brown hair. I smiled as I pressed my hand against my head. When this is all over, I will tell him.
I turned my heads towards the window to stare outside. I saw a giant with orange hair walking towards the tavern that the room was connected to. He was carrying a large sack that seemed to be packed full of goods.
“Looks like the Highlander is back from his exploits of raiding stalls.”
“He does know that he doesn’t always have to cook food for us, right? Like we are staying at a place that makes delicious food already.”
“You’re the one who introduced him to cooking,” I smirked. “You also told him that he will be our cook during our adventures too.”
“Well, it's not like I can stop him at this point.” Charlies replied as he leaned on the edges of the window.”
“Yeah, but you’re the one who’s going to have to explain to the innkeeper that we’re going to need to borrow his kitchen.”
“Says who?”
“Says me,” I said as I repeatedly punched Charles’s shoulder.
“Alright, I get it.” He replied as he blocked one of my punches.
“If you do get it then why don’t you head down right now and explain it to them?”
“Alright, Madam Ruby,” he bowed.
Thud. The floor suddenly shook as I slammed his body on the ground with my right knee pushing into his back, while I pulled both of his arms backward.
“You know how to get on nerves, don’t you, you human?”
“Okay, okay, I give up. You win again.”
“Hmph. As expected,” I smirked.
“Alright, you love birds. Playtime is over.” Said the man with orange hair.
“Welcome back Gordon,” I said as I released my grip on Charles.
“Glad to be back.” He smiled.
“What did you get from today’s raid?”
“Raid? O-oh you mean what I bought from the local shops. Well, I got a bunch of fish.” His green eyes sparkled.
“You really are someone special, you know that Gordon?” I sighed.
“And yet you still decided to form a party with me.”
“Yes, Yes I did.”
Charles got up from the ground and began rubbing his arms as if he were cold. After several seconds, he then stretched his back and cracked his neck.
“You really did a number on me today, didn’t you?”
“Yes, and I’m not afraid to do it again,” I taunted.
“L-let just goes ask the innkeeper if we can borrow the kitchen now.”
“Yay, food is coming soon!” I celebrated.
After we finished our meal, we plotted our trek for tomorrow to find him. I oversaw the gathering of supplies. Gordon was sorting through and accounting for all the food items that we needed. Meanwhile, Charles began gathering members for our quest. We were finally going to kill him. After centuries of destruction, the final Dragonlord will finally be killed. Patientia prepare to breathe for the last time.
