Writer’s spot: Greetings friends! A late chapter today, and two important annoucements!
SO, starting with the serious announcement, I'm dropping beepy.IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE, KEEP READING! First of all, I want to say that the main reason I'm doing this is because I really wanted to troll you guys, so no, I'm not dropping beepy, that was a joke. But it might take some time before the next update since I'll be making 5 chapters straight of IO to commemorate it reaching chapter 100.
BESIDES, I also started a wordpress blog for myself. It's a VERY simple blog that I made for a few reasons. But I'm not going to post IO, Beepy or Lia there. If you check the page, you’ll see that it’s a place where I will dump ideas that I won’t post in RRL for a couple of reasons, like being just a brief project, not thinking it will go far and so on. If I didn’t do that, I might seriously end up cluttering RRL with my stories. The fics there HAVE NO GUARANTEE THAT THEY WILL BE COMPLETED AND MIGHT BE DROPPED OUT OF NOWHERE. But there’s also a chance that new stories pop up there or that I might resurrect an old project out of nowhere, so read at your own risk.
MY NEW WORDPRESS!
With that out of the way, have your chapter of Beepy!
BEEP, and enjoy your closing of an arc!

“We were used.” Ruby said as they finally reached the hallway that led to the exit. Heaving a long tired sigh, she saw as a pink haired elf waved at the group from the door, a couple of bodyguards laying knocked out on the ground.
“You also thought so?” Sorius asked with an annoyed tone.
“Yes. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were the ones to actually send us here in the first place.” Ruby said as she dodged a tackle-hug from Lunn.
“What are you talking about?” Lunn asked as she quickly got back up, making it as if nothing had happened.
“The fact that we probably won’t get paid.” Ruby said with a hint of annoyance, and with her cold words, Lunn immediately reacted to the words by putting a shocked expression.
“What do you mean?“ Lunn asked shocked. “Didn’t we get our job done just right? Why wouldn’t we receive our payment?”
“Because we might have been set up on this job by someone else, so there’s a chance that the job we took isn’t official.” Ruby explained briefly, making Lunn stare at her in shock for some time. Then, they heard something snapping.
“AFTER ALL WHAT WE DID, WE WON’T GET PAID AT ALL?” She shouted angrily, making Ruby flinch in fear for a moment before nodding. “EVEN AFTER ALL WE DID WAS SO WE COULD GET SOME MONEY TO SURVIVE THE WEEK?”
“Looks like that’s the case.” Ruby said with a sigh, and Lunn’s eyes went glassy before she became completely limp and dejected, heaving a long sigh of desperation.
“What…. What are we going to do now?” Lunn asked depressed.
“Is money really that bad?” Sorius asked confused, but Lunn nodded weakly.
“We might not even survive the month the way things are going, you know?” She said dejectedly. “We might not even have enough to pay for a transport back the way things are going...” She said while staring at her brother in annoyance for a moment.
“I took care of that.” Ruby said briefly while motioning towards the door.
Following her gaze, the others stared towards the doorway, seeing as what looked like a limo being escorted by three large black armored treaded wagons. The vehicles screeched to a halt right in front of the door, and from inside many different soldiers wearing a black armor and helmet.
The soldiers quickly passed through the group while giving a brief glance towards them, with Ruby looking away from them as if she didn’t want to be seen. It didn’t take much longer before shouts started to come from inside the building as the soldiers quickly started overpowering the bandits. While that was happening, the limousine’s front door opened and from there popped a certain Troll wearing a suit.
He made a motion for the group to come in, which they quickly complied to although all of them having confused expressions. Yllivia went first, gently lowering Beepy into the seat while sitting besides him.
[Oh! Mirage!] Gaz said in an understanding tone as he saw the small cat laying on the couch besides him, looking surprised. [I see, so you sent her to call Gorgoff.]
[Yes. When I noticed something was wrong, I decided to send Mirage to call him.] She said while remembering back to the time where they were in the storage. While she said that, she gently pressed her fingers towards her temple as if trying to calm herself. “Keeping this up is getting a bit tiresome…” She said out loud before giving a long sigh.
“Sweetie?” Lunn asked worried when she heard that.
“If Lunn does anything odd with me, please teach her a lesson, okay?” Ruby said mysteriously to the others.
As they watched her saying that, she closed her eyes and seemed to focus for a moment. While Gorgoff widened his eyes in surprise as he understood what it meant, the others were still not used to it, so they simply watched in confusion.
Then she suddenly seemed to lose her balance and fall down towards Lunn who held her hurriedly. Holding Ruby against her chest, before she even had the chance to ask what was happening, Ruby passed her arms around her waist and said in a low and tired voice.
“Big shis… Sho tired… Huggy… Nappy...”
For a moment, the group flinched in surprise, Ruby’s sudden drop of the professor mode caught them off-guard as she suffered from the backlash from the extensive use of the mode.
Lunn, the one who almost literally took the brunt of the attack was completely frozen as she had a face mixed with confusion and delight, her fingers twitching as she overflowed with desire to hug the hell out of the girl who was already emitting cute sleeping sounds against her chest.
The only thing still holding her back was the worry that Yllivia might stop her with one of her usual death punches, however, the Lynnian was too occupied with watching over the damaged robot to notice the situation.
Having no one to actually stop her this time, she immediately hugged Ruby, squeezing her delightfully against herself while putting a satisfied smile.
“For how long have she stayed as the professor?” Gorgoff asked confused.
“Since afternoon.” Yllivia replied briefly, but Gorgoff widened his eyes in surprise.
“Afternoon? It’s almost the middle of the night right now!” The troll said surprised. “She never stayed as the professor for that long!” He turned towards Ruby with a worried gaze. The others also turned to her with a similar feeling, but seeing the girl sleeping so peacefully seemed to bring a bit of calm towards the group. Sighing in relief, Gorgoff sat back on the chair and made a motion to the driver to start the car up. “I’ll take you guys home today. And when she wakes up, tell her that we will transport the robots back to their places as she requested.” He said before frowning slightly. “Except those three that followed you. I take it they are yours?”
“Huh?” The three adults said in unison as they looked towards the place where Gorgoff had been looking at.
Sitting on the floor of the limo, looking up towards the damaged Beepy, were three that at least the girls had seen previously. One was the Hugger, who had been following the group previously, so he wasn’t much of a surprise. The other two, however, caught the trio unaware.

One was a large boar-like robot with excavators for front paws. A hasty job had been done in fixing its front leg that was twisted in an odd way, but it seemed to barely allow him to walk for now. The other was a leaper that had a hatchet added to its side, as well as the armor removed from another, revealing the treads it used to move around.
“Are… Aren’t those the ones Beepy defeated?” Lunn asked surprised.
“Beeeep?” Gaz asked confused, as the angle where he laid didn’t help looking towards the ground, so the robots were just out of his vision. [What’s happening? Can someone tell me...? Ruby…? Ekis…? Anyone…?] He asked, but from the looks of it, both were out of commission, as neither gave him a reply.
Sighing loudly in his mind, he tried to raise his body to look down at the three robots that the others mentioned being there, but the moment he tried to move, a sharp sting of pain crossed his body, making him beep in pain.
Yllivia quickly reacted to his beep and she held him before pushing him back down gently while looking at him worried. Although he felt grateful to the lynnian, Gaz still grumbled annoyed into his mind.
[...It’s kind of boring when there isn’t someone to talk to...] He complained to no one in particular.
As he beeped in annoyance, receiving another worried look from Yllivia, Gorgoff got the attention of the group by clearing his throat.
“So, what exactly was happening back there?” He asked with a somber tone. “Why were you and the professor in that place?”
“Well...” Lunn said awkwardly while looking away, only to put on a silly smile as Ruby nestled against her a bit more. “It was a mix of surprise expenses, unfortunate timing and really, really bad luck with jobs.”
“What do you mean?” The troll asked confused.
“You see, with us having to move our base, some expenses that we weren’t ready for appeared, leaving us in the red. Along with that, Volgoff and Ross left so they could get a few things they left back at our old base just as mister serious-pants here left to scout the city, so we were left without a person with whom leave sweetie with.” The elf hugged the morfian as she was mentioned, who replied with a brief satisfied smile. “Soooo cute! Anyway, we also got a really bad luck with the job, so we ended up in the hideout of a massive gang in the process.”
“So, you took her with you despite knowing the dangers?” Gorgoff asked with a tone of doubt.
“That’s the problem. It wasn’t supposed to be dangerous.” She said with a long sigh. “We were supposed to come in a small Gearbox, find enough proof and get out. But it seems we were a bit unlucky this time.”
“Ruby said that you might have been set up.” Sorius said briefly.
“What?”
“She said that she think someone tried to set you up to go in that base.” Sorius said seriously. “I think it were those guys.”
“...I see...” Yllivia said with a brief nod as if she understood what he meant.
“Who are ‘those guys’? Am I missing something?” Lunn asked cofused.
“The announcers. And head bodyguard.” The lynnian said shorty.
“Oh...” Lunn said surprised before nodding weakly. “Those guys… I see...”
“Why would someone set you up for something like this?” Gorgoff asked dubious, but the siblings could only look at each other in helplessness.
“Maybe they didn’t want us.” Yllivia gave her opinion. “Maybe they just needed mercs. We were unlucky.”
“Hmm… It could have been that.” Lunn said heavily before shrugging. “Oh well, I guess we’ll never know.”
“I see...” Gorgoff said with a nod before sighing. “The professor did ask to check whether there was such a request on the mercs headquarters, and as she feared, there really weren’t anything along the lines of checking a gear-box in recent archives.”
“Haah, is that really so?” Lunn asked dejected. “Then we won’t get paid at all...” As her words hung heavily into the air, the group sat in silence for the rest of trip to their house.
Gorgoff did think of lending a bit of money to the group, but they decided against it in the end since he had an idea of the Professor’s personality. That, and the elf gave him the feeling that she wouldn’t accept an offer like that so easily. At least not at the moment. Should their situation become a bit more serious, he would lend them a hand.
Well, although honest feelings were there, he was almost sure his boss would fire him without a second thought if something happened to the Professor, so he did have some second intentions.
The limo circled the hill that made up the group’s house and stopped just in front of the entrance. Hopping out of the vehicle while carrying Beepy, Yllivia led the way being followed by the three robots who made a small line while following the broken wolf robot. Lunn came out of the limo with a sad look, since Gorgoff was carrying the napping Ruby due to his greater strength, even though he was a more intellectual type of troll. Lastly came Sorius who followed the group from behind.
Seeing on how Gorgoff was going to leave Ruby on her bed, Lunn decided that she would at least take a shower and wash away the sweat she built up in all that exciting adventure of theirs.
Leaving the alloy she managed to get after her brief adventure inside her locker, she quickly directed herself towards the shower.
A few minutes later, the elf came out while humming happily and thinking of how she would be able to snuggle up with the sleepy Ruby while she slept. Quickly putting on a simple shirt and shorts, completely ignoring the monetary problems since it wouldn’t be good for her skin to lose a night’s sleep over that, she made her way through the house until the girl’s bedroom.
“A wonderful purchase! The guys at the R&R will be delighted with this!” She heard Gorgoff’s voice coming from the corridor. Peeking over, she saw as the large troll carried something under his arms while laughing happily.
“What was that?” Lunn asked when she saw Yllivia standing on the place where the troll had been previously, looking downwards to something in her hands.
“Just sold the painting.” Yllivia said while raising her head towards the elf, who had a confused look. “The one I was doing before we left.” She explained briefly.
“Ooh! The one with Ruby and Beepy?” Lunn said surprised. “How much did you get?” She asked excited, and the Lynnian raised her hand, fully open. “Fifty credits?” With that they could last one, maybe two more days! But the lynnian shook her head. “More? Fi-Five hundred?” Lunn was now shocked. With that much money, surviving until the end of the month would be possible! But as she started to get excited over the prospect and seriously considered pouncing the cat-girl in happiness, shocking words came from her.
“Five thousands.” The lynnian said while putting on a proud look.
The elf froze in place at the girl’s words. The job they took earlier had the payment of one thousand credits. And after all they went through, they ended up, they weren’t even paid. However, Yllivia just went and said that she got five times that by simply selling something she did for fun?
Just as Sorius approached the girls to try and ask what was happening, he heard something snap.
“WHY DID WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALL OF THAT?” She shouted in desperation.
Within Yllivia’s room that was close by, the trio heard as a robot kept beeping repeatedly. Since neither Ruby nor Ekis were in condition to actually talk to him, no one noticed that Beepy was laughing his core off.
