Writer’s corner: Greetings friends! A short chapter just to close things up.
SO, I’ve decided to make this a short chapter (1.6k words only) mostly so that I could close up what happened before starting the next arc. I’m… Still not sure what will happen later. I have a brief idea, but besides that not much… I am open for a few suggestions. (And no OP bodies for Gaz for now. He have to start out slowly.) I MAY upload another chapter today, no promises though.
BESIDES, I don’t really have anything to say here, except that the idea of a X over with Insania have been on my mind. BUUUT, no promises. Maybe develop Gaz’s skill a bit more before then.
Beep, and enjoy your story!

“Look! It was the higher up’s idea, ok? They said that you are monopolizing the professor, so they had to get her!” The lynnian businessman said with a worried tone. “I… I don’t know much besides that!”
Gaz lightly showed his teeth-like blades once again to the man, but felt when Yllivia gently tapped his head, telling him to fall back. Gaz looked at her briefly before making a motion similar to shrugging and taking a step back.
The Lynnian shrunk even more in the chair he was when he saw the scene, his body trembling slightly as he waited what happened. A sigh caught his attention, making him see the professor, still wearing the mask, slightly shaking her head as if disappointed.
“Mister… Evon, right?” She asked the lynnian, who nodded worriedly. “And if I’m not wrong, you work for… Hive-works, right?” The man nodded once again. “Well, how do I say it… the fact that you were somehow related to this is more than enough to send your whole life downhill. You do know that, right?”
“Please! No! Anything but that!” The man said worried, and all that he received was a smile from her.
“There’s no need to worry. I have no plan on doing that.” She said with an affirmative tone. “But, as you know, my bodyguards are recording everything that have been spoken here. And if I could make your life a living hell, can you guess what would happen to the place you work for?”
She asked with a smile, and the man’s face blanked for a moment before leaving his mouth hanging open.
“Glad to see you know.” She shifted herself slightly on the seat. “So, this is what is going to happen. You are going back to your boss, whoever hired the blacktriggers, and tell him this. I have the recording plus a few backups saved with me, besides the blacktriggers prisoners themselves. So, if he want to have his enterprise still up and running, he better be a VERY good business partner, okay?” She said gently and saw as the man paled and nodded hurriedly. “Good. I’ll send someone to meet him later, so please go tell him.” She said as she made a dismissing motion with her hand.
The man looked at her worriedly for a moment, but after seeing her nodding, he lifted himself and cautiously left the room, closely followed by two large troll guards.
[Geez I never knew you could get so scary…] Gaz said in their link, and simply felt a slight sense of annoyance flowing, but there wasn’t any other response besides that.
Ruby sighed loudly in mild annoyance before turning back to the other businessman, who all watched the scene with a hint of worry, she gently shook her head for a moment before speaking.
“I’ve already spoken pretty much everything I planned on speaking here, and most of your doubts I can leave to the other technicians, as they should be able to explain it as well as myself.” She said with a weary tone and saw as they nodded. “I hope you don’t mind if I cut this meeting here, as I’m a bit weary with this situation.”
The businessman nodded and took the documents with them after some short talk with each other and with Gorgoff, they left with a nod, the excitement of the attack also left them a bit too shaky to keep up with their talk, even if they were safe the whole time.
As soon as everybody else left the room, leaving only Ruby, Gorgoff and the mercs, the morfian took out her mask and heaved a long and deep sigh that surprised everyone but the large troll, who had already seen her like that before. Then, the young girl turned towards the pink haired elf and extended her arms towards her, her eyes lightly closed. The group blinked surprised for a moment, not really understanding what was happening until she said in a low voice.
“Huggy…”
The pink-haired elf’s nose started bleeding a little as her eyes turned into a pair of hearts. But before she could jump at the morfian, the girl leaned against her body and started the hug herself. Lunn’s mind went blanks as the little girl she adored leaned against her body and started to breath softly, indicating that she was sleeping.
[Okay, I take that back… She’s too cute to hate.] Gaz said.
[This feel surprisingly comfortable…] Ekis said with a slow voice, almost as if she was falling asleep.
[Mmmn…] Came from Ruby.
Laughing a bit at her sleep thinking, Gaz turned back towards Lunn, who looked like she had just ascended to heaven, found true love, won the lottery and met her favorite idol, all at the same time. Different from the pink-haired elf, who was lost in her own fluffy world, Sorius turned to Gorgoff a bit worried.

“What happened?” He asked. “It was like she was a completely different person!” He said surprised.
“Yeah… The professor tends to change when it comes to negotiations for her projects.” The troll said with a wry smile. “But she also say that it leaves her exhausted mentally, and she always end up sleepy after meetings like these… But I must say that she did look a bit more into it than the last time. I almost didn’t recognize her.”
“The little princess is more of a queen than all of us thought!” Ross said with a short laugh. “She went an’ changed the problem into a business chance. It’s not anyone who can do that.”
“She truly is a blossoming talent.” Gorgoff said with a nod before looking toward Gaz, who was also receiving his share of hugs from the other female merc. “And that’s quite a nice work from the professor… But I still don’t understand. Why did you keep him behind a fake wall?” The business man asked confused, and Sorius nodded while pointing at the window.
“You see, that window, even being dark enough to make it difficult to see from outside, it still allows you to see the outlines of the people inside.” He said before pointing towards Gaz. “And his shape would become really obvious for a spotter, and they might notice that there’s something strange with the decoy meeting we had the security set up on the twentieth floor.”
“And why would that be?” Gorgoff asked, still a bit confused.
“Ya see, if we simply stood there, we would be just like your other security guards.” Ross said while lifting a finger for emphasis. “But with a robot slash animal walking around, dey could find dat dere’s something weird going on here.”
[But staying in there since the morning was also boring as hell.] Gaz complained in his mind.
[It wasn’t THAT bad.] Ekis complained slightly.
[Tell that to Ruby. She’s the one that suffered the most here.] Gaz said in a slightly mischievous tone.
“Oh! I think I see it now.” The troll said with a nod. “Then, that shot you made there…”
“Was to get their spotter.” Sorius said with a nod. “In case they had a second strike team ready.”
“I see.” The troll said with a nod. “Not only did you protect the Professor, you also helped us greatly here by avoiding a potential disaster.” The troll said with a sigh. “Well, I guess I own you a payment, right?” He said with a smile, and Sorius nodded seriously. “It’s a shame we probably won’t see you again. I’ve never seen the professor so cheerful before.”
“There’s no need to worry about that.” Volgoff said with a nod. “The little princess hired us to be her bodyguards for some time.” He said with a gentle smile as he patted the sleeping girl, only to be almost bitten by a raging Lunn, who looked like a wolf protecting her pups.
“Oh, she did?” The businessman asked. “Well, that’s wonderful then! The professor really took a liking to you! Let’s go, then?” He said finally to Sorius, who nodded before walking away with the troll, leaving the remaining group alone in the room.
“Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s go to the truck.” Ross said cheerfully while leaving the room.
Lunn nodded while carefully picking Ruby up in a princess carry and humming happily as she carried her. Except that her nose started bleeding again when the little girl moved around a bit so that she could be a bit more confortable, and ended up leaning against the elf.
Luckily, Gorgoff made sure to take all the guards away, so no one saw that scene of the so respected professor.
Gaz followed behind them while being scouted by Yllivia, who left her hand atop his body all the time while walking. The group all got at the elevator, but Ross stopped just as he was about to go in and called the other elevator.
“I’ll go an take a look at the triggers. Want to see if there’s a ‘friend’ amongst them.” He said while waving at the group. “Be with ya in a minute.”
And with that he left the group who was going downwards towards the garage. Once there, Volgoff quickly opened up the truck and let all the others in while he went to the cabin. Lunn gently put Ruby down into one of the beds.
But the moment that Gaz tried to go to his usual corner on the trailer, he was stopped by Yllivia, who held him by the neck with a hug. When he tried to get away, he saw as the lynnian pouted slightly.
“Beep?” He asked a bit confused.
“Beepy spending too much time with Ruby. You stay with me today.” She said while dragging him back and hugging the robot’s body.
[Seems like Ylli is jealous.] Ekis said in a wry tone.
[As a man, that statement leaves me with a conflicted feeling, since she only sees me as a pet...] Gaz said with a dry laugh as he was pulled away by the jealous lynnian.
