“Klutzs will be your temporary personal knight our young Sun”
“I see, understood” I was shocked as I heard the young Sun spoke for the first time, making me look up at him as I was kneeling down.
I then thought to myself ‘What has this child been through for the past year…. To look so fed up…’
“…Welcome back, Sir Klutzs.” The usual smile present on the young Sun’s face was no longer seen, only tired eyes and a cold expression remained.
“Yes! Thank you young Sun!” I replied happily as the young Sun remembered my name.
The young Sun didn’t question me at all, nor did I do so as well. This may be for the best.
The past should remain the past…
I still vividly remember the young Sun’s figure as he slowly collapsed near the exit of the auction warehouse.
The screams and chaos outside were loud and the metallic scent was everywhere yet the sight before me was shock inducing…
The monsters were all frozen, as if they were newly made glass sculptures precisely carved by a skilled artisan.
To be able to immobilize all of these creatures for a long period of time despite passing out was indeed a feat on its own, but the caster was someone who ‘can’t use’ magic.
It was between being impossible and downright amazing.
But…The young Sun’s powers are dangerous towards others, but all the more so to himself.
My job is to protect the young Sun and prevent him from accidentally hurting others.
‘This time, I will make sure I succeed.’
….
…
Time passed by rather fast for me, yet I for one think that ‘I’ remained constant.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
The only difference was is that I began to meet up every other day with the young Sun’s language teacher.
That was my only pastime aside from sword training.
She was mature for her age, though I have no idea what her actual age is, I just know that she is young.
We often meet in the gardens where our young Sun chose to play in.
Well rather than ‘play’ it would be more right to say ‘study’… As the young Sun stubbornly buries himself in books, that even I can’t understand.

The young Sun never really smiles anymore, it was like he suddenly grew up in a blink of an eye.

Often times I find myself having difficulty in locating the young Sun’s whereabouts, even with senses that I have developed in the battlefield these past few years.

Lady Marthiel, the young Sun’s language teacher always invites the young Sun to a picnic.
She says that it is to help clear the mind, though I think that this was just an excuse to help the young Sun escape from the palace’s tight surveillance.

Then with that, time flew by rather slowly…
…Yet all good things must come to an end.
In order to give me a title, I was tasked to marry a girl as young as I, which I have yet to meet.
The thought of marriage never really crossed my mind as I was sure that I would serve beside the young Sun for all eternity.
Yet when I was faced with it, the only person that I couldn't stop thinking of was the lady…
I swallowed the useless thoughts as this is for the young Sun.
No matter who I am destined to spend my life with, I would be sure to whole heartedly love them and care for them even if they don’t do the same.
The role of a husband isn’t something to be taken lightly.
It would be difficult for me but more so to the lady that I would take as my wife…
I did decide to steel myself and yet when I took off the white veil covering her face I was hit with a wave of relief.
The one I was tasked to marry was none other than the young Sun’s language teacher, Lady Marthiel.
Though my relief was rather one sided as I could see her crying when the veil covering her face was lifted.
When the priest finally beckoned us to seal the wedding with a kiss I was rather frozen for a while and soon decided to just do it.
As I closed in, she closed her eyes shut.
Seeing that heavy reaction, I kissed her on the nose and then whispered to her ear. “Don’t worry my lady, without your consent I won’t kiss you any further than this.” Soon I parted away from her and gave her a smile.
‘Ah, this is the first time in a while since I smiled. Maybe like the young Sun, I too have changed from being carefree a testament to what I’ve seen on that battlefield.’
