1010 AD, 4th Month of 12, Aokigahara Forest, Planet Sky, Mirror World Of Earth
10 Years Later
During this time, Shawn had never left the forest. He stayed there and continued understanding his body. Aside from the common wildlife that he feasted on, he never encountered any other intelligent species like humans or the elves that supposedly exist here. There was however one thing that Shawn had discovered.
[This marks the tenth year and I still haven’t aged a day past 5 years old. The only thing keeping me sane is that I can feel myself growing, although at an incredibly slow pace. I’m mildly guessing I’ll be stuck like this for quite possibly the next century or so.]
He has also figured out how to control his metabolism, heart rate and other parts of his body support system. He can even produce adrenalin on his own now. Other things like changing his skin colour are possible as well. Another thing he had discovered was the ability to shape-shift into a humanoid form. In this form, he looked like a five-year old boy with pale skin, black eyes and extremely long black spiky hair that reached his knees.
In his dragon form, his length had doubled from thirty to sixty centimetres with his tail taking up half his length. His height had mildly increased by five centimetres, making it ten centimetres. He still preferred his dragon form over his humanoid form.
His work on chakra though has seen the biggest progress. He is able to control his own internal chakra to a masterful degree while also being able to affect the environment around him to bend the elements to his will. His mastery over the elements would put him at a stage where he could topple over an entire city single-handedly. He still hasn’t figured out how to utilise the elemental deviants like sound (air), absolute cold (water), gravity (earth) and lightning (fire) but he decided to leave those for later. With ice, he had no problems. After recalling his past knowledge along with some minor tweaking here and there, he was able to make ice, water and mist.
He had also focused on getting used to close-quarters combat in his humanoid form while boosted with chakra, making for some highly acrobatic moves. Most of that time was spent fighting against the chakra beasts in the process until he became the overlord.

All in all, while he didn’t make as much progress as he wished, he at least got his basics down and is confident that he can now complete what he did in ten years in three.
He stood up from the tree he was sleeping on, his cocoon slowly retracting into his body.
[I’m reaching a limit on what I can do on my own. It’s time I go to the human world to learn a few skills from them. Learning their arts will probably also allow me to come up with new ideas on how to use my body.]
He jumped down from the unnaturally large tree branch and landed on the forest floor, the faintest ray of sunlight that had managed to break through the canopy illuminating his face. A black swirl surrounded him as he reverted back to his humanoid form. His black hair looked feral, giving him the appearance of a barbarian but by running his chakra through it, he managed to straighten it a bit.
His bone armour came into being, covering his skin while still allowing mobility. He looked like a child paladin.
[It’s time to leave this place.]
Royal blue aura surrounded his body while his muscles visibly tightened. His bone density subtly increased while his paladin bone armour creaked from the sheer amount of chakra being channelled through it. He watched as a lone leaf slowly fell, watching it gently float down to the forest floor. As soon as it touched the first grain of sand…
BOOOOOM
Shawn took off, leaving a devastating shockwave behind as he seemingly vanished into the vast expanse of the forest. There was also another reason Shawn left the forest this early. He had realised after analysing his body that he truly will start having problems with his body after reaching his 100th birthday. Since he’s vampiric, he’s technically more dead than alive. As he grows stronger, he’ll need higher quality blood to support himself, which he instantly knew was not sustainable and since he will start his growth spurt in ninety years, he would need a continent’s worth of blood. So there’s another method he had to resort to. Becoming a host. By accepting a living lifeform into his body, they can essentially help him become ‘alive’ and stabilise him. Either that or reach the 5th Gate, which he knew he couldn’t achieve anytime soon.
[My best bet is to find a yokai, especially a kitsune since they’re known to be especially active around humans and there should be less complications should I merge with one.]
He leaped across a cliff, finally leaving the large island he called home for the last 10 years and landed on the other side. He stopped and looked back. The sound of the waves hitting the shores below while the wind tussled his now knee-length spiky black hair was all that could be heard as he admired the view of the island.
A myriad of thoughts and emotions flowed through his mind. This island that he lived in was where he grew up and he knew he would come back soon.
“I should give you a name.”
He lowered his head in thought while wave after wave crashed against the cliff face. He looked up. Seeing the densely pack trees that were thicker than an elephant and branches that could support twenty men, he smiled.
“Aokigahara. The sea of trees. That is the name I will give you. As for my name…Uehara. Aoki Uehara will be my name.”
He turned away as blue aura surrounded him again and ran.
