13th Birthday (I)

Just like last year Ron and Harry come over the night before my birthday, but this time Theo joins as well. I tried to get Neville as well but his grandmother said no, probably because he wouldn't be with Dumbledore this time.

This time Theo brought over a beautification potion as a gift to Auntie and a stress reliever spray for Uncle. He is very good at sucking up to people, that being said I think he will make a killing off these potions when the school year starts back up.

I have been recently thinking about expanding my servants to include my friend's parents. So I plan to question Theo about his dad tonight and Daphne about her parents as well. I just don't know how to bring it up, like 'Hey is your dad a fucking horrid racist or an okay racist?' it just doesn't roll off the tongue you know?

Instead, while Harry and Ron are taking turns playing Final Fantasy I have a game of chess with Theo. I still am not that good and still don't like it but hey, it's a good conversation game.

"So, are you thinking of opening a potion shop when you eventually take over the Nott family?" I ask genuinely curious.

He shrugs, "Knight takes pawn. I don't think my Father would like that, he always says working is a poor man's profession."

I look at him befuddled, "Does your dad not like you making potions?"

"He says learning is for the rich, so he likes that; however he would hate if I told him I sell potions."

"But didn't your dad work for Voldemort, he was a mid-level Death Eater right?" I ask genuinely curious.

Theo grins at my words, "I guess he doesn't consider being a servant as work."

"Huh, So on a scale of Draco to Lucius, how bad is your dad? You know, muggle wise."

"Ehahaha, Why is Draco the baseline?"

I shrug moving a rook up to my frontmost pawn, "Because he is snobbish and annoying but he doesn't actually HATE anyone, you know?"

"Knight takes rook. I don't know, I heard Lucius has gotten a bit better lately, not much though."

I smirk, "Pawn takes knight. What can I say, he had a change of heart."

Theo sighs, "Pawn takes pawn. My father doesn't really hate anyone, but he does think himself their better. Let me tell you he isn't, mans a nightmare. He treats half-bloods alright but he can be nasty around muggleborn."

"Does he think we should rule the muggles like the other psychos?" I ask leaning back in my chair.

Finally, his brows furrow, "Why are you asking about this stuff."

Our eyes meet as he finally looks up from the board, "Do you want the truth?"

A bit of concern crosses his face, "Yes," he says with conviction.

"The Dark Lord is back, the Order of The Pheonix will be reassembled soon. Your father already knows all this, he will probably return to his post as a Death Eater soon."

Theo's face turns serious, "You think he would?"

I shake my head, "I know so, I already have proof he's been in contact with the other Death Eaters about his return."

"How do you know?"

"I can't tell you that, but I have to ask you. Do you love your father?" Theo stands up almost knocking the board over causing Ron and Harry to look over.

I give them a smile, "Hard loser," I gesture at Theo before turning back to him seriously.

"I suggest you convince your father not to return to the wrong side. Because the Dark Lord will not win this time either."

Falling back into his seat Theo holds his head in his hands, "I will try to convince him, but what if I can't?"

My brows furrow at the thought of killing my friend's father, "If he refuses, tell me, I will give him an offer he cannot refuse."

Theo nods fully trusting me, "Okay… thanks."

I give him a smile, "No problem," sometimes I forget that Theo is still only 13 with how mature he is but sometimes he is still naive.

The next morning on my birthday all of us get up around the same time around nine in the morning. It's a bit early for the duo of sleep but they manage. Heading downstairs Auntie gives me a glare warning me not to step into the kitchen.

'How did she know?' I think to myself as I sit at the table next to Uncle.

"Morning boys," Uncle says putting down the paper.

"Happy Birthday Soren," he says with a grin.

Before I can say thanks Auntie speaks up "Happy Birthday, if you would like to help you can wake up your sister."

"Thanks, and sure, was she up late on a mission or something?" I ask standing up.

"No, she was watching muggle movies all night, I could hear her from our bedroom."

I nod at Aunties' words as I set Gilg and Enki on the table in front of Harry, the person they like the most."No snakes on the table!" Auntie yells from the kitchen without even turning around.

I shiver as Harry takes them from me into his arms, "I'll watch them don't worry."

"Thanks," I say as I start up the stairs.

Standing outside Sis's room I can't hear anything so she probably is actually sleeping. Usually, on her days off she will lay in bed listening to music for hours on end.

*Knock Knock*

Waiting a while I get no response so I knock again, this time I hear a grunt from inside. The door slowly opens revealing the tired face of Sis still in her pajamas with obvious bags under her eyes.

"Geez, how late were you up? I thought Veela were supposed to be beautiful no matter what?" I say sarcastically stepping back preemptively dodging her fist.

"Tch," She clicks her tongue as she turns around, "I'll be down in a few minutes."

I nod as I slowly close the door, "Okay, make sure you zap away those bags, don't wanna scare the boys." Seeing a pillow coming my way I quickly close it with a triumphant laugh.

Getting back down the stairs I see breakfast is already set I sit next to Harry and Ron, across from Theo.

"Did your sister hit you?" Ron asks confusing me.

Seeing my confusion he gestures to my messy hair, "She tried," I say fixing my hair before grabbing some food onto my plate.

"Must be nice having only one sibling," Ron says a bit enviously.

Theo smiles at Ron, "I have none, it's pretty boring."

Ron sighs as he takes a large bite of food, "I wish I could have a boring day." He says with a full mouth receiving a 'really' look from Auntie.

He takes a large gulp swallowing the large mouthful of food, "Sorry ma'am."

Noticing Harry is oddly quiet I turn to see him feeding Gilg and Enki some sausage under the table. Having been found out Harry blushes a little and goes back to eating pretending it didn't happen. I see Gilg and Enki on Harry's lap are both looking up at him flicking their tongues asking for more.

Giving my consent I slide the plate of sausage patties closer to Harry and give him a knowing nod. Uncle seems to know what is going on and gestures to Arthur who is sitting on his lap. As Harry takes a patty I slide the plate over to Uncle who grabs two for him and Arthur.

Sitting at the end of the table Auntie gives us odd looks, "What are you three nodding about?"

"""Nothing,""" we say in unison.
