Chapter 22: Burning Doors
Jason tries his radio to get the location of his friends. "It's not getting any signal. I had to find them on my own, what a pain in the ass," he mutters to himself.
"I even forgot to ask him how much time had passed since I've been gone," Jason thinks as he starts to curse himself for this silly mistake. He checks his watch and sees that only half an hour has passed since he left.
"Now this gives me some relief. I hope they are all well," Jason thinks to himself as he begins to search for his other team members.
POV Shifted To Bhim
As we were exploring the runes, suddenly one of the words on the wall started to light up, and everything in front of us turned white. After a few seconds, when our vision returns, we see that nothing has changed except that Jason is no longer standing where he was before.
I try to contact Jason through the radio, but there was no response. When we check his location, we receive an error message, which is strange as the radio always shows the exact location of the person.
"Search around. If you find Jason, call us on the radio. If you find something odd, don't try to be a hero. Call us and wait for the team to arrive," I command my team.
This is a serious situation, and Jason is the second most powerful person after me. We must find him first; it's what we learned in our department - never leave your comrade behind.
I divide my team into two groups. I put Jerry, Suzzy, and Mark on the first team, and Lily and I go on the second.
As we go deeper into the cave, things start to change. The words on the wall become less and less, replaced by colourful crystals and stones of different kinds. If someone saw this place for the first time, they would think it was maintained regularly.

I notice that this place is fully suitable for monsters, but there isn't a single sign of them being there. However, I decide to ignore this - it's not the moment to focus on this. Suddenly, a message comes through my radio.
"Captain, quickly come to this place. We found something mind-blowing," I hear through the radio.
"Wait there, we're on our way," I reply and quickly head towards the location of the first team with Lily.
A few minutes later, we find our teammates.
"There you are," I say to them.
"Now, are you guys ready to tell me the reason why I'm here?" I ask.
"There's nothing to say, just come and see this," Mark says, pointing in a direction.
"What is it that you can't tell me?" I ask sarcastically. I follow Mark towards the edge of the cliff.
"There's no path a few meters away from you. You have to come this way," Mark explains.
As I reach the edge, I see something that I will never forget, even if I want to. Two doors, almost 15 meters tall, made of ore and metals that I’d never seen before. The most stunning thing is that both doors are on fire - one is in red, and the other one is in blue.
After watching the scene, I turn towards my teammates.
"So, what's your order, captain?" Suzzy asks.
"We had to go down there and according to my institution, Jason must be inside," the speaker said.
"Suzzy and Lily, you guys record everything you see odd and send it to headquarters. The rest of us will figure out how to get there. Any problems?" Bhim asked.
"No, captain," everyone except Bhim replied at once.
Ten to fifteen minutes later, Bhim and his team finally made it to the burning gate, standing a few meters away from it.
"Even from here, we can feel its heat," Lily said.
"It's true, but have any of you thought about what we should do now that we're here?" Jerry asked.
"Of course, we have to open the door," Mark said.
"And who do you think is going to do that?" Jerry replied sarcastically, as the door was burning with such intensity that anyone who got too close to it would burn within seconds.
"Did you guys notice that we can only feel the heat when we are within 5 meters of the door? Isn't that weird?" Suzzy said.
"Suzzy, it's not weird. Whoever built this place must have been 1,000 or more times more powerful and advanced compared to us," Bhim said, as what they were witnessing was only possible in the imagination.
"It's true. Even who knows how many years have passed, this place looks like it was made just yesterday. It's truly unimaginable," Lily said.
"Guys, aren't we losing our focus? We have a job to do," Mark said.
"Quit your nagging. We know that you feel jealous when people ignore you," Suzzy said.
"So what?" Mark replied.
"That's enough, guys. Go look around. There must be something that will open it," Bhim said.
At that moment, Lily spoke up, "Guys, I think I found something."
Before anyone could get there, Lily touched the object.
Boom!
With a loud bang, the door started to open up, and the fire also began to subside.
"Good job," Mark said to Lily while giving her a thumbs up.
"That's good, but from now on, don't touch things that you don't know about," Bhim said, just like how a leader should.
"Did you guys see anything from outside?" Bhim asked.
"No," everybody replied.
"It looks like we have to go inside," Jerry said.
"Let's go, guys. Maintain your position, don't be too far away from each other, and be alert all the time. Who knows what we'll have to face up?" Bhim commanded his team as they finally took their first steps inside the door.
"Guys, are you following me?"
"Guys, why aren't you responding?"
Then Bhim turned back and realized that somehow, he was alone. But he remembered correctly that they were very close to each other, and it was only a second since he entered the door.
So, it was not possible that he somehow ended up alone, but then he realized that this must have happened to everybody, not just him.
"We are f*&^%d," for the first time since they had stepped on this Planet, Bhim lost his composure.
