Re : Last survivor

Her observed

Inside a cave.

There was a mysterious ruin that spread as if it was part of the cave from the beginning, no one knew what was inside.

So that what is around the ruins is always shrouded in a very vague history.

David Howard happened to enter the cave. It was winter with snow piles that made his feet almost unable to move, moreover if David was in contact with the cold air for too long, he was afraid that his ears and nose would become inflamed so this place might be his final burial place.

Hence, he decided to retreat into this cave, warming himself while trying to think of what he should do.

Unusually, however, curiosity about the ancient ruins led David to decide to explore the deepest part of the cave.

There, in the deepest part of the cave, was a very sturdy steel gate. The steel gate seemed to be made by giants or those with special abilities, the surface of the steel looked very smooth without the slightest rough scratches as a result of the molding or hammer blows of the craftsmen.

David was speechless at the iron gates he saw now, they were far beyond what he knew.

"Ancient civilization? But which civilization is this from, the Dragon King Scaramur? Or the Rebellion of Muneir from the north?"

In the historical records that David remembered, he had never heard anything about an iron gate hidden in the cave. Although he realized that knowledge had great limitations, but he should have heard some words from history or even the Bible about this iron gate.

The young man with a big beard named David then took a step back to try to move away. He was now trying to break through to see what might be behind the gate.

"O blessings of heaven, please give me the light of judgment, the help of the thunderbolt."

A magical particle shone near David, gathering at one point creating a bright purple colored beam.

The surrounding rocks trembled slightly due to the wave of energy that seemed to rebel.

Closing his eyes, David shouted.

"Lightning Hammer!"

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

A purple-colored light beam struck the steel gate. If it was normal steel David believed that a hole might be created.

It was a magic spell that he cast that had the attack power to scorch a 10-meter tall monster without a trace.

But the result of the reality made David's eyes shake. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.

"Impossible. This gate cannot be destroyed, how can it be?"

He then dropped the wand in his hand as he looked around.

There was nothing but hard rocks and a large, solid gate. For some time he continued to do that, his attention was then distracted by a thick smoke that appeared out of nowhere.

David immediately covered his nose with both hands, but it seemed that the smoke had passed through the cracks of his body, making his legs feel so heavy.

He then fell down.

Vaguely, he then saw that deep inside the thick smoke, a blue light from behind the gate began to shine on his body.

Slowly, the sturdy steel gate opened.

....

Wait a minute, what's really going on?

I can't believe what I'm seeing. Electric charges can only be created from the interaction of magnetic fields that usually come from electrically charged materials or the natural phenomenon of the earth's electromagnetic field.

How is it then, that a wooden stick held by a human can create an electric reaction large enough to be called lightning? Wood is not an electric conductor and the resistance value is too high, on the other hand humans are also unlikely to be able to create lightning just like that.

This is starting to make me very confused.

The man who said something in mixed English-German had obviously just created lightning. So for safety, I immediately let out a chemical gas to put the man to sleep, fortunately there wasn't any damage inside this bunker so any mechanism was operating properly.

After that, I brought the strange man into the isolation room.

From behind the glass wall, there was a monitoring room where I was currently relaxing while drinking a glass of chocolate coffee.

This coffee was quite delicious and I really liked it, especially when the warm water that entered my throat just flowed. Ahh... somehow my mood suddenly became better.

It was probably because that man's existence made me feel that the human race was not extinct by time. This assumption is very much based now.

"Let's test, what's really going on outside this bunker."

I then placed the cup onto the table beside me while looking at the reflection of my own face that looked very small in the glass.

Just like the cup, reality and truth can be seen in the reflection of a mirror. This is a simple mathematical understanding that even an elementary school child can grasp.

The fact that the man I put in the isolation chamber still had both eyes, a nose and a mouth created the possibility that the outside world was habitable. There was no radioactive radiation from the war left, perhaps it had merged with nature and created a new ecosystem.

I sighed softly at this result.

Oh... the man is awake.

From behind the one-sided glass wall, I saw the man with the strange cane wake up from his sleep. Immediately, he looked around with a puzzled expression, the way he behaved reminded me of an old movie about the research of chimpanzees, primates covered in fur but without tails. Yes, that's exactly what the man looked like.

The only difference was the clothes the man was wearing. It seems that the decline of civilization is not too far away, when I was relaxing I once assumed that if there was a civilization outside this bunker there might only be pre-historic humans, but it turned out that it was all wrong.

"Hmm..Clothes made of silk...Hmm. Could it be that the knowledge from the time I lived can still be understood by them?"

The man in the isolation room then looked towards the table, there I had prepared a plate of sweet pudding, a meat steak along with a small knife and fork.

I did all that so that I could know which one made the man feel familiar. The way humans behave will usually be in line with their life habits, and habits are the beginning of civilization.

Just as I thought, scientific papers that have gone through various processes of Trial and Error, have a greater chance of grasping broader knowledge. I feel a little flattered at this knowledge.

Next, the ancient man began to take up the movement. His eyes that were sluggish from not yet recovering his consciousness returned then looked at the pudding for a while, from the expression on his face he didn't seem to know anything about pudding.

The man's eyes again looked at the other side, this time the meat steak along with the knife and fork. The man then grabbed the knife and fork without any trouble, automatically proving that the culture the man had was probably familiar with the correct way to eat steak.

"...interesting."

I nodded slowly at the results I got.
