Actually, little Coal had made his decision almost instantanenously. It was just too cold and he was too hungry to think clearly.
But even so, he still made sure to check the wooden cave first before going inside. He thought that with such a big cave, the animal living in it would not be small, but on the contrary could be very big. And he also didn't think that it would be a good idea to go in there barehand.
So he went home and thought about what could happen in the cave and made some preparation corresponding with. He wanted to make sure that even if things happened in the worst scenario, he would be able to run for his life.
But sadly, he tried hard but failed to prepare anything.
He first tried to make a bow but he didn't know how to do it. He only saw his father used it twice when some boar tried to harm his field, but he never learned how to make one. And ask about how to defence toward a big animal, he thought that it was very simple, really. You didn't, simply by appearing in front of its eyes is the best way to suicide. And he wondered if his some crude arrows he made along with his bow in few short days could do any harm on it.
He then tried to make an armour, but only received the same answer as when he tried to make a bow. And if he assumed that it could, he thought he wouldn't be able to run away or hide anywhere with it. He would be a perfect sandbag in the shape of a big belly rabbit.
Only after a few more fruitless attempts, he decided to wistful pick up some big stones near his place with his hope that it could make some distracts for the unknown bigbuddy, and then went straight to the cave in the mood that he would go right straight to the morgue.
Didn't know that the big stones would be the hero of the day...

The wooden cave appeared to grow out of nowhere in front of the snowy woods land, with snow surrounded the cave from all sides but it front.
In its left, right and behind side, Coal saw a stunning scene. He saw snow, a lot of snow, and an endless land made out of pure white snow. On that enless white land, he saw a numberous of death slim and very tall trees which didn't have any leaf left on its writhered branches, all together they make an emourmous dead forest, and there was also some very high mountains which theirs peaks pierce through the sky contiguous with the dead forest, a large gray mist covering the whole higher part of the mountains and a part of his sight.
It made Coal couldn't help but thinking that if his woods where he was living in was invaded by the snow, would it be the same at what he saw here? He didn't know, and he didn't need the answer either. Everything just kept it way was much better.
The wooden cave turned out to be just as small as a dot in the white land. But even so, it was still a lot bigger than Coal and he shouldn't be careless.

The cave front side faced the snowy woods. Between them was a lot of tree stumps which Coal thought was the cave materials. The place where he was stomping on was a bit strange, the snow here is flat and there was no rock or mud under it and it was a bit lower than the snow around there.
The cave had a large but thin wooden platform under it. The lower part of the cave was made of peeled trees lying down and stacked on top of each other while the upper part was opposite, a part of peeled trees standing but sticking to each other.
The upper part looked larger than the lower one but just a half as tall as the lower one. The lower part had two big holes, which had four more holes inside them and one tall hole made out of wood on the front side while left and right only had one big hole but behind had none.
He used to see the big holes turn orange once but that day it was black. Coal didn't think he could go through the tall hole so he thought he should try the big ones. But the problem is that the big holes was very high from the ground and he didn' t know much about climbing except enough for him to know how to get out of his house. So, although he really wanted to but he didn't think that he could climb up to the big holes.
He thought that he needed another plan, a plan that was more clever and much more decisive than compared to go through some dangerous holes which he didn't even know if they were his future grave holes...
After a while thinking, he actually came up with a plan. That time, he would not need to climb or enter any of the holes anymore. He would first let his universal... stone explore the big holes first and if something appeared from the holes. He would run while the stone cared the rest... Well, he would observe it from afar while the stone kept it busy.
Said no more, he started his plan right away. He then tried to get as far as he could from the cave but at the same time enough for him to toss his stone into the one of the big holes easily. After made sure everything still followed the plan, he threw the stone and then run straight to the woods bush near the place without looking back. He then heard some noise but only when he thought that the stone had entered the wooden cave that the looking back to see what happened.
What he saw make him stunned. The universal stone did not enter the cave but lied near the indent of the big hole on the left of the front cave side. It didn't look like he fail to throw stone into it but it looked more like something stopping the stone from entering the cave. The substance looked like a frozen water or maybe, ice but at the same time it was not. It just too pure and he could see through it as if nothing there.
Coal thought that if it was ice, it would be very hard and it would need a lot of time for him to break it. He thought he should just give up because he had already seen ice once before, it was everywhere in the river near where he lived and no matter how hard he tried to break it, it only broke a little bit each time.
But he still didn't want to give up just like that...
But he also couldn't do anything about it. Sadly, he turned his head up to the hole, looked at it once again before promising himself that he would go back to his house, find some food and come back to his nightmare once again. At least he tried.
But then the moment he about to leave. He heard some strange but resound noise. Turned his head back to the hole, he saw something very amazing. Suddenly some snow thread appeared inside the ice substance, and then the ice collapse. A lot of shatter pieces of the ice substance fell out of the hole onto the ground but the some were still on the hole, while the universal stone relaxed comfortably near in the end of the hole's indent.
Coal thought that if the stone could talk, it would tell him to praise it. But sadly, it could not so Coal praised himself.
Not long after, while he was still celebrating, he suddenly heard a noise coming from inside of the cave, and something was coming out of the tall hole.
Coal suppressed his joy and hid deep inside the bush, once again.
