Chapter 57.4- Stories of Old(Part 5)

A cave much larger than the one in Murim's center could be found on the outskirts of the city, where no land could be seen beyond the horizon. Its entrance was wider, taller, and had more doors to accommodate more people, so all of the slaves could fit inside the mysterious cave's seemingly infinite hallway. When we arrived near another massive cave entrance, there were tall hooded figures with curved backs and really tall spines waiting for us.

They welcomed the slaves, opened the massive 500 white doors for them, bathed them, and fed them simple yet delicious food, the most delicious thing they'd had since being enslaved, only eating grass and dead dogs or animals beaten to death by their owners. After that, they were given soft blankets and a place to sleep; being treated only with kindness caused some of the slaves to cry because they hadn't been treated like humans for so long; the scene was heartbreaking.

Murim's 700 quadrillion free people finally got some proper food and rest for the first time in years. The next day, the hooded figures gave them the same things and continued to treat them the same way; nobody needed to work, nobody needed to do anything inside the cave, and everyone was still fed without doing anything. People praised these unknown figures, kneeling before them and thanking them from the bottom of their hearts. The hooded figures said nothing or spoke once, but they waved off their thanks because it was common for them to help people in need; it was almost like it was their calling to help anyone.

As a result, the 700 quadrillion people became even more devoted to these masked figures and would go to any length for them. This continued for months inside the cave, despite the fact that there were so many people; there were people sewing, making clothes, writing and writing poems, and different types of martial arts being taught by the hooded figures. People who had discovered their talents inside the cave began to emerge one by one. It was a paradise on the inside; they had food, warm clothes, a bath, a warm bed, and freedom. Meanwhile, in the heart of Murim, the emperor's traitorous family maintains its tyranny.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

The chosen 200 quadrillion people were subjected to horrifying changes and were forced to participate in horrifying treatments by the emperor's family. Various poisons and Qi were injected into these people, as well as various forms of torture, for their experiments with the newfound power they had obtained by pillaging the resources of Murim's center cave. Citizens? Slaves? These were an understatement of what they were in the kingdom of the central Murim; they were more like disposable pawns, thrown somewhere to feed the soil when done. The more these people are subjected to these experiments, the stranger their bodies become and the more they shed their mortal forms.

They now resemble animals, having lost their morals and feelings, and have transformed into bloodthirsty beasts ready to rip apart anything and everything in their path. There were even different varieties for these monsters, the most common ones having wolves' heads, spiders' bodies, bears' bodies, tigers' bodies, horses' bodies, some of the rarer ones having a lot of arms of different species, the most extravagant ones were making people's corpses into dragons, which they made a lot of them with a mix of dead bodies, and even people who were alive. I could go on, but to summarize, they experimented and fused people with every kind of animal they could find in the hopes of creating the perfect human.
