So, with the emperor's family, troops, and siege weapons all in place, how could one possibly invade the Sacred Realm? The emperor's 900 whores plan to create an array that will slash space and directly open a portal to the lower levels of the Sacred Realm because that is the limit of their colorless Qi; they will need a lot of Qi and internal energy to pull it off, even if they combine all 900 wives' Qi,Internal and life energy will not suffice. They require a lot of energy to forcibly open a portal to the Sacred Realm. Normal Qi would simply be brushed off when attempting this process, so Inner Qi and Life energy are required.
