Several minutes later, two female wolf kemonomimi arrived at the scene. One of them was a blonde wolf girl with tan skin in a pot pink trench coat.

She was accompanied by her friend and colleague, who was a brown-haired wolf girl in a green trench coat.

Before this would become an official crime scene for the police, they were dispatched by their employer to get to the bottom of this horrific crime. But this was a top priority because of the people who are now dead.

They surveyed the area carefully, as the first thing they saw when they entered the crime scene was a banner with a language they didn't understand written on it in red paint.

“Okey-dokey, this is some fucked up shit," the blonde wolf girl announced in a Southern accent.

"I mean, I heard about the Red Arrow mending fences with us, but my God," the brown-haired wolf girl said in a German accent.

“Oh yeah. These old fogeys…” the blonde wolf girl teased as the brown-haired wolf girl went around the room, examining the dead bodies.

“Shayna Hu, their Killer Queen from the Red Arrow. And four of her senior advisors,” the brown-haired wolf girl identified.

“And don’t forget a dozen bodies our killer stacked outside of the warehouse,” the blonde wolf girl added.

Then, the brown-haired wolf girl made a quick revelation. "For fuck sake, these guys are the Red Arrow's political branch. And with Shayna dead, Xerxes will now have his own roundtable here and occupy New York City.”

“So, why are we here again? Do we still get paid?” the blonde wolf girl rambled on as the brown-haired wolf girl paid attention to the banner stapled on the wall. “I bet ya any money, that's blood. Just straight-up blood. I don't even know why anybody would do stuff like that now. Why don't they just use—"

While the brown-haired wolf girl tried to get another word in, she was stuck in the neck with a dart. Immediately, she felt dizzy and collapsed to the ground. The blonde wolf girl sees this and rushes to her partner. But it was too late; she was completely unconscious. Feeling somebody walking behind her, she pulls out her kunai. She turned around, preparing to fight who was behind her, only to be greeted by a tall, voluptuous woman wearing a dark purple gown with a matching golden mask with a pair of royal purple feathers.

“Mrs. Anderson, it is an honor to meet you," the diara politely greeted in a low garbled voice. "However, this is a bit out of your jurisdiction; what brings you here all the way from Madrid?"

The brown-haired wolf girl eased up on her guard, but she was still cautious. “Lady Memento. I thought you were retired…” she identified.

“I didn’t know I was popular amongst the ladies in the syndicate. And it’s part-time,” the female diara, Lady Memento, fritted. “One of the victims is in critical condition, but he’ll live along with another one who suffered second-degree burns on his entire face. Turns out our unsub used a lye-based compound and mixed it into the foam.”

“These were all Xerxes’ opposition inside the society. He did this to take over…” the brown-haired wolf girl assumed.

“Unlikely, Mrs. Anderson,” Lady Memento corrected. “He has nothing to gain from killing them. They are worth a lot more alive than dead.”

This made the brown-haired wolf girl roll her eyes. “So, Ideology? That is why they are all dead?”

Lady Memento shrugged while surveying the area. “It’s obvious they weren’t planning on attacking anyone. However, judging by the documents that were left behind in a hurry, it seems one of your superiors was in the middle of a business deal, and someone had other plans. This time, Eichner and Hu weren’t involved in a double-cross. This was more of a reckoning.”

This made the brown-haired wolf girl sigh in despair. “Okay, so how do you want to work this?”

“There’s nothing we can do. However, your work is done here for now. I suggest, Mrs. Anderson, that you call your daughters. They’re worried sick about you,” Lady Memento mocked with a grin as this upset the brown-haired wolf girl.

“What the hell do you know about my daughters?!”

Suddenly, the blonde wolf girl tried to wake up and pointed her fingers at the guy who drugged her, wanting to shoot him with her light beam. “Ya sneaky son of a bitch!”

Immediately, the brown-haired wolf girl stopped her as she merely turned around to see Lady Memento, only to see no one behind her. Rattled by the encounter, she focused on the banner that wasn't painted in red blood. It was regular paint. Paint you can buy in any hardware store. The language that was written in was Aramaic.

A simple question that everyone would get to answer real soon. “Do you understand?”
