As Wesley enters the village he is met with many stares. Men and women moving widely around him gawking at him curiously. It never dawned on him that his cargo jeans, t-shirt, backpack and hiking shoes aren't exactly the style of this era. He begins to have the same feeling of unwelcomeness that he experienced his first year of schooling. Wesley stares at the ground as he walks until he feels someone tugging on his shirt. Wesley turns and sees a sweet little girl with a long dress and aprin standing next to him. She smiles at him and waves, directing him to follow her. Not exactly knowing where he is going anyway he follows the young girl who leads him to a blacksmiths shop.
As Wesley enters he sees several swords, knives and axes hanging along one wall, many wood boxes of round headed square nails and other freshly forged items. The little girl leads Wesley to the back of the shop where Wesley sees a large man with long hair and thick beard pounding on some kind of bracelet.
"Good Revna, Now please go fetch your mother."
The man says to the little girl as he puts the hot metal bracelet into some water to cool. After dropping the bracelet in water the man grabs a rag and wipes his hands clean and looks at Wesley.
"Not from around here are you." The blacksmith says with a thick accent.
"Not exactly sir" Wesley says shakily beginning to worry that he made the wrong choice following the girl into the shop.
"You dress funny, you talk funny and you stick out like Bridgemoss in a heard of Hornskox." The blacksmith says.
Confused wesley asks "A what in a heard of what?"
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
"And you don't know what common pokemon are." The blacksmith says with a grin. "Whats your name boy?"
"Wesley, sir." Wesley replies embarrassed by the blacksmiths comment.
The blacksmith shakes his head "No that won't due."
The young girl returns holding her mother's hand. Her mother is a beautiful young women wearing a long dress and brown aprin. Her long Brown hair tied in a different but lovely fashion.
"You sent for me Thorkell?"
"I did" the blacksmith, Thorkell says "Please take young Ivar here home and get him a change of clothing. Just like the last one."
Wesley turns his head quickly toward Thorkell as he says "the last one." Thorkell looks back at Wesley, smiles and nods as if he already knew Wesley was going to ask about Delsey.
Thorkell grabs a rugged fur cloak and hands it to Wesley.
"Put that on and go with my wife Yrsa. She will help you with some clothes to blend in more. Ask her what ever you need to. I need to finish up here than I will see you when I return home."
Wesley wraps the fur around himself trying to cover his clothes and follows Yrsa and Revna. When he steps outside he is filled with excitement that he is one step closer to finding Delsey but also happy to have found someone who can help him figure out this Vahallan region. But his excitement is quickly shut down as he begins to hear shouting in the direction that they are headed. Yrsa pulls the hood of her cloak over her head and pulls wesley close to her before they turn a corner.
"Keep your eyes down until we get past the crowd and just keep moving." She instructs Wesley.
When they reach the corner they turn and there are several groups of people standing outside a large building with many guards. As they walk through the crowd wesley can hear complaints of the men and women.
"We get knocked back here and they won't even open the door?"
"We had to come all the way back here from Helmawe and have to wait? What is this about."
"We've gotten sent back three times and this is the first time I've ever heard of this only two armrings rule. What is going on?"
Yrsa rushes Revna and Wesley through the crowd as quickly as she can without drawing to much attention. When they make it through the angry mob of people they sneak around to the back of the building and get inside.
