Chapter 10: Legacy

The lottery interface continued the style of the previous screens—minimalist.

The entire screen displayed only two words: "Enter Lottery…"

Gazing at this seemingly unreliable lottery interface, Ash tugged at the corner of his mouth, feeling that anything drawn from this lottery might be of little use.

"Let it be, one shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Despite its simplicity, who knows what treasures it could yield? Even some money would be nice," Ash mused as he slightly shook his head.

After all, anything gained for free was a bonus. There was no loss if nothing came of it. Given his current situation, it would be great if the lottery could give out money, ideally in the tens or hundreds of thousands. That would cover the costs of training Pokémon and even improve his family's living conditions, easing his mother Delia's burden.

"Let's see what we can get," Ash thought decisively, gently tapping the button labeled 'Lottery.' Instantly, the screen changed to display a slot-machine-like interface.

Instead of three divided slots typical in lotteries, it displayed a list of nouns. The first to catch his eye was 'Big Pearl.'

"Big Pearl?!" Ash exclaimed. In the world of Pokémon, a Big Pearl is a valuable item, essential in crafting numerous things, and currently priced at 3700 Pokémon Dollars each!

"If I could draw a Big Pearl, that'd be sheer profit!" Ash felt a rush of excitement. 3700 was a considerable sum that could certainly make his days a bit easier.

However, the spinning of the interface dimmed his hopes for a moment; he had thought he drew a Big Pearl, but he hadn't. The screen slowly scrolled down, revealing a new item, 'Sitrus Berry.'

Before he could recall what a Sitrus Berry was, the screen continued to shift, speeding up. With Ash's current eyesight, it took only two seconds before he could no longer make out the names flashing before his eyes.

"My eyes are going blurry…" Ash quickly hit the stop button, not caring what he might get since it was all free anyway.

As soon as Ash pressed stop, the screen gradually slowed down, and soon, Ash could clearly see the names of some items that shocked him.

"Ice Rock… Razor Claw… Sun Stone… and even… Z-Crystal?!" Ash looked on in disbelief at these items, unique to the Pokémon world, among which the Z-Crystal was particularly valuable.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

A Z-Crystal is essential for unleashing a Z-Move in battle, but it cannot trigger a Z-Move on its own; another item is needed, which Ash had not yet seen.

"There are also TMs, HMs…" Ash's excitement grew; obtaining these items would allow him to avoid many detours on his journey as a trainer.

Under Ash's eager and expectant gaze, the lottery interface finally came to a halt, and the word 'Legacy' appeared before him.

"Legacy?!" Ash frowned slightly, puzzled by what this meant. In the world of Pokémon, there was no talk of 'legacy,' only 'inheritance.'

"Could it be an inherited move?" Ash wondered, clueless. Meanwhile, the lottery interface vanished, and a red orb of light appeared before him, materializing in the real world, startling even Pikachu.

"Pika—!" The sudden appearance of the red orb made Pikachu's fur stand on end, and sparks flew from its cheeks as it sensed immense terror from the orb, as if it were facing a deity.

In contrast, Ash felt nothing from the orb of light, but Pikachu's reaction made him sense that something extraordinary was afoot. "Don't worry, Pikachu, it's okay, there's nothing to be afraid of."

While soothing Pikachu, Ash also scrutinized the floating red orb. It shimmered in a crimson hue with streaks of electricity arcing through it, and a shadowy figure seemed to flicker within, though Ash couldn't see it clearly. Curious, he reached out to hold the orb closer.

"Would you like to use the Legacy? Current possible target: Pikachu…" The moment Ash's hand touched the orb, a cold, mechanical voice echoed in his mind.

"System?" Ash was startled to hear the system's voice at this moment and immediately questioned, "What is this?"

"Would you like to use the Legacy? Current…" But the system offered no response, merely repeating its previous message.

Ash furrowed his brow. Without understanding what this so-called 'Legacy' was, he was hesitant to let Pikachu accept it—what if it was something harmful?

"So... what exactly is this?" Ash wondered silently, while Pikachu anxiously hid behind him, clutching at his shoulder as if finding some comfort there.

"Attribute panel, can you show me the information on this item?" Ash reopened the system and summoned the attribute panel, instantly seeing details about the orb that left him in disbelief.

"Is this… real?!" Ash couldn't believe the information before him, shocked that he could draw such an item. Was this unscientific, or just too unreal for the Pokémon world?

Legacy: Osiris the Sky Dragon

Using this legacy on a Pokémon would greatly enhance its qualities and grant it the powers of Osiris the Sky Dragon.

Ability One: Thunder Force Attack

Ability Two: Superconducting Wave

"The abilities of Osiris the Sky Dragon from Yu-Gi-Oh?!" Ash knew well what Osiris the Sky Dragon was—a deity from another anime, Yu-Gi-Oh, and one of the three Egyptian God Cards!

Of course... it was also known as the legendary traitor dragon, but undeniably, it was a god! A true deity!

"So... if Pikachu accepts this Legacy, it could gain the powers of Osiris the Sky Dragon? This…" Ash was so astonished he was almost at a loss for words. Was this lottery really so terrifying?

Could it truly bestow divine powers as a legacy, potentially making him reach the pinnacle of his career with just Pikachu, undefeated in battles and on the peak of life?
