Mi Tha observed Aiden through Lan Yueya's body from the corner, hiding behind a large boulder that saved her from the prying eyes of the surrounding disciples. With her identity of sword hall elder's daughter, no one bothered her.
Aiden stood on the edge of the cliff, unmoved as a timeless statue. Fierce gusts whipped his long hair, yet his face held a tranquil expression. Like an immortal unbothered by the mortal desires. He wore a dark brown robe, and many women stared at him. Even she had to admit he looked handsome. No wonder the girl, Lan Yueya, followed him like a bee following honey.
However, his handsomeness didn't affect her, but his ways of living did. Aiden wasn't the same person he showed on the surface. There were layers and layers of mystery around him. Least was his status as a transmigrated soul from another world, and second was his dark secrets. He killed people like they were ants in front of him. A couple of days ago, he had killed two people and abducted another one in the dark of the night. For killing, he used a formless poison she wasn't aware of, and the ease he showed, and the skills he used were all unfathomable. Like the Soul Teether.
That's how he thwarted her possession of Lan Yueya.
But how could he know such rare skills? That too at his current cultivation level?
It wasn't just that. His ways of ruthlessly killing people amazed her.
She wasn't a saint, and she had killed tens of thousands of people, but when she was at his age, she hadn't had her first kill. Aiden killed mercilessly and eliminated every opponent that could become a problem for him in the future. He killed decisively and wiped every trace that could lead to him. And he killed for smallest of the reason. Why would someone kill a girl just because he had robbed her a couple of days earlier? It was going too far to wipe out the traces of one's deeds.
Whatever, she was only concerned about her memories stored inside him. He didn't show any sign of unveiling them, but then this guy was shrewd like a sly fox, and he might be hiding it inside him. If only this guy had a high aptitude, she could have found a way to possess him, but his D grade aptitude meant he couldn't advance by any means.
"Brother Ma, did you hear they found two bodies in the labor disciple huts?" someone whispered.
"Yes, I heard that guy was poisoned before, and the girl sucked his cock and died with the same poison. What a way to die. I like it," someone else replied.
"At least he got something good before heading to yellow river." Another one chuckled.
Mi Tha coughed hard, unable to control her emotions. What was wrong with the narrative? How did it end up like this? It was a clear murder of two disciples using poison. When did it become a fuckfest?

Or did she miss something? Was Aiden lurking in the shadows to watch a free show?
No way. That guy didn't even look at Lan Yueya with any lust. Absolutely no lust.
What was going on in this world?
"You bitch, get out of here! Let me be me." Lan Yueya woke up and wrestled control of her body. "Brother An is here, so let me go to him," Lan Yuaya shouted inside her mind and Mi Tha was pushed aside.

As Aiden caught sight of Lan Yueya pushing through the throng of people like a frantic parent searching for a lost kid, his legs went cold. The desperate longing in her gaze sent shivers through him.
"Fuck, why is she heading toward me?"
Suddenly, everyone turned to his right, and he sensed a strange energy rushing around him. It was familiar and yet not familiar.
"Void Energy." He grimaced at the sight of a shimmering portal materializing mere feet away. Black lights sparkled inside the swirling vortex, dancing like malevolent fireflies against an inky backdrop. The energy within coalesced and twisted, forming a violent maelstrom that seemed to devour the very air around it. A bone-chilling cold emanated from the portal, raising goosebumps on Aiden's skin and making his breath visible in wispy puffs.
The familiarity of the void energy hummed inside his chest, attracting him toward the portal.
"Everyone, the portal is open. Everyone will go in as per my instructions…" The elder who was overseeing the quest entrance was saying something, but Aiden was in no mood to listen to him and he entered the portal without waiting for others and while entering he heard someone shouting.
"Don't go, kid. You shouldn't enter for the first two minutes else…." The voice was cut by the shimmering portal and he became dizzy.
His body whirled like a broken boat caught inside a giant whirlpool, spinning wildly out of control. The force was so intense that his muscles strained against the invisible current, his joints aching from the unnatural twisting. He couldn't even take a breath as his lungs constricted, the air seemingly ripped from them. His vision blurred, colors and shapes melding into a dizzying kaleidoscope as his body moved round and round and round.
Unending motion assaulted his stomach, turning it into a grindstone that made him motion sick.
Then he dropped on a patch of dark grass head first. Intense pain smashed through his nerves as he rolled around, spitting everything he had for breakfast in the morning. It was a miracle that he avoided vomiting on himself. That would have been a nightmare for his OCD.
He swore loudly, regretting his choice of spicy food that morning. On hands and knees, he hacked and coughed, the sour flavor clinging to his tongue. With shaky steps, he moved away from the puddle of sick. Relief washed over him as he noticed his pants and leather shoes were free of mess - a small win in the battle of dizziness.
His stomach grumbled in an intense roar. He took support from a thick black tree, his heart racing because of the teleportation, and his head still dizzy.
Suddenly, a branch coiled around him tightly and lifted him into the air.
The world once more swirled around him and he ended up throwing whatever was remaining.
A red warning flashed across his eyes, and he realized he was losing 1-2 life each second.
Fuck! It was the tree, and he was hanging in the air, four feet above the ground.
A terrifying feeling seized his chest as he spotted a jagged branch lunging toward him. The branch bristled with razor-like edges, as if someone had wound a string of knives around it and launched it to end his life.
Shit! He was in deep trouble now.
