"Elder Li, do you hear me?" The tall man with a thick mustache reaching his chin grabbed Aiden's shoulder, jolting him out of his daze. The man's large hands firmly gripped Aiden as he shook him.
"Who are you?"
"Elder Li, I'm Elder Mani, your friend. How can you forget me? Are you all right?" The tall man helped Aiden to sit on the edge of the bed with his back resting on the smooth wall. The tall man smelled like oil and grass. What was he doing before coming here?
Aiden shook his head. Things came back to him. He was in a Soul Cryo Tank, and an AI bitch offered him to reincarnate his soul in another world with RPG rules and promised him a Necromancer class, but he got reincarnated into forty-year-old alchemist. And now he had two classes. Holy Alchemist and Corpse Doctor, and he knew squat about any of those classes.
"Corpse Doctor, what kind of class is that?" Aiden asked, his gaze lingering on the character sheet for a moment. This was interesting. The AI bitch didn't tell him everything. This world worked on the RPG laws, and he had a character sheet. It opened up a lot of possibilities for him.
Holy Alchemist. Good. It came with a powerful cultivation base, and he would definitely use it for his advantage.
"Elder Li, did you really contract the disease from a Corpse Doctor? I thought it was..." He hesitated.
"Do you know about the classes?" Aiden asked, surprised.
Delia walked in with a tray in her hand. A faint aroma of Elaichi, and Ginger wafted out of it and Aiden reached forward to grab the piping hot cup.
"Thank you, Delia." Aiden smiled at the young girl. She was a good servant. When his own family didn't even come to check on him, Delia was always around him, taking every order from him as a word of gospel.
"Master, please don't insult me," the young girl said, looking down.
Aiden arched his brows.
"Elder Li, I think the disease is affecting you. Masters of a house don't thank servants." Elder Mani whispered in his ears. "Little girl, go back." He picked up the second cup and brought it to his mouth.
When Delia walked out of the room, elder Mani retrieved a small glass needle and dipped it in the tea and when nothing happened; he put it back.
"I'm a bit paranoid, but I don't trust servants," he said.
"Don't worry. She is good," Aiden said. He trusted Delia.
"It can't hurt to be extra careful." He shrugged.
Aiden sipped the warm tea, relishing the smooth, effortless flavor on his palate - a welcome change from the bitter aftertastes he despised in milk tea and coffee. Nothing compared to the crisp bite of his beloved whisky over ice cubes, but this would do for now.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"What was that about? And where is the elder Wuji?" His furrow deepened.
"He left after I threatened to contact the sect master," Elder Mani said. " Don't worry, they can't force you to reveal your method of getting rid of the disease."
"Elder Mani, what were you saying about the Corpse Doctor? I'm sorry, but my head hurts when I try to think too much about my past self. My health has a big debuff too."
"Of course it would be. You survived one of the most hideous curses in our realm - it's a miracle. In fact, the sect master wanted to come himself, but an envoy from the Blue Moon Sect arrived, so he was held back."
Aiden seeped the tea, letting the flavors burst on his tongue. This was the best thing he had after waking up in this world.
"What about Corpse Doctor?" Aiden asked, irritated.
"That is a Dark Realm class, a pretty rare class. Did you meet someone in monthly quest? Why did you go there? With our cultivation, we can just skip it for a few years, and go together to have the best chance of survival."
"I don't recall. What do they do?"
Elder Mani sighed.
"Elder Li, as a Holy Alchemist, you would know better than me, but as much as I know, this is equivalent to your class in the Dark Realm, and those nasty people grow medicines from the human corpses. Can you believe they turn the corpses into pills that can increase other's cultivation base?"
Aiden's cup remained frozen in the air for a moment. A Corpse Doctor used a corpse to make cultivation pills? It sounded interesting. Not as interesting as raising skeletons, but it sounded cool.
However, he suddenly realized both the classes he received from the system were non-combat oriented, and they would not assist him in his plan. If only he had got the Necromancer class, he could have raised an undead army and swiftly conquered a country or two.
"Elder Mani, I will return to the sect in a couple of days." Aiden frowned. This won't do. If he wanted to integrate with this world, he could only go to the sect and use his powers to do it. As a Head Alchemist, he should have enough power to set up his cult, and as per old man Li's memories, he could do that easily.
"But alchemist Ha said you will need to take a rest for a few more days." Elder Mani refused.
"Am I head alchemist or alchemist Ha?" Aiden asked. He wanted to visit the sect the very next day and check the library, but didn't press on it as he had to sort through old man Li's memories and a couple of days' rest would be enough.
"Of course, you, elder Li. I'll convey this to the sect master." Elder Mani put the empty cup down and got up before bowing to him lightly.
"Thank you for visiting, elder Mani." Aiden cupped his hand from the sitting position.
"Elder Li, I don't know if I should tell you this, but your son is missing from the day you went into unconsciousness state."
"My son?" Aiden furrowed. Old man Li's memories were a little fuzzy about his son, and they were now becoming clear.
"Yes. Shall I ask the sect disciplinary hall to look into this?"
"No. Please keep it as a secret for me. It's a family matter. I will check this myself," Aiden replied with a firm voice. Whatever it was, he didn't care. He wasn't the owner of the real body, and he didn't want whatever disciplinary hall to involve in this mess.
"Then I shall take my leave." Elder Mani bowed slightly and took his leave.
Delia walked into the room with a tray with a green liquid.
"Delia, I don't need this anymore. I'm doing well now, and if you want to say anything else, send my wife and I'll tell her this myself."
"Master, you can't say no to this. Please. Don't make me lose my job." Delia stepped closer, and something touched his penis.
Was she touching him. What the fuck was wrong with her.
Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through his groin and stomach. When he looked down, a dagger had appeared in his stomach. That bitch, she had betrayed him and stabbed him with a dagger.

Delia dropped on her knees next to him, the tray she held in the second hand slid down, the green liquid flowing on the red tiles.
"Master, please forgive this little one, but if I hadn't, then they would have killed my family. Please forgive me in the afterlife."
System: Your health has dropped to zero. You will die.
"You bit…" Aiden lost control over his body and then everything turned dark. Was it unfortunate to die right after coming to the new world?
