Zack didn't climb out of the tree for a long while after the wave of monsters dissipated. First off, he didn't want whoever lived here to get the wrong idea. Maybe classes that controlled monsters were a thing and they might mistake him for one? He wasn't sure if that monster horde was a natural occurrence or not... He certainly hoped it wasn't.
But also... Something about the three people who'd just slaughtered their way through a horde of monsters gave them pause. Their malice was controlled, for certain, but what little leaked out of them still sent shivers down his spine. Even when the three weren't aware of him the sheer presence they gave off was almost enough to make Zack faint.
Regardless of his still shaking body, Zack climbed back down the tree and touched back down on solid ground. After stretching for a bit Zack began mumbling to himself as he paced around just outside of the clearing.
"Now how in the world should I go about introducing myself...? Is this like a identification point? Will they just let anybody in? Could I ask for refuge because of all the monsters? Why didn't I ask about any of this when I had the chance? Mmmm..."
After a bit of deliberation he stepped foot into the open clearing, and was immediately noticed by a few people who were still on guard at the gates.
"Who goes there?!" one of the men called out from atop the gate.
"A weary traveler sir!"
Speaking an entirely new language that I spent absolutely no time learning feels odd.
"A traveler! In this day and age?! Lad you needn't tell the truth, but if you're going to lie at least make it convincing!"
Damn.
"Alright, fine! Truthfully, I've got no absolutely no idea! I woke up near here and just almost died! I've no idea what I did before now and I'm currently trying to live!"
Honesty is the best policy...
"Well extra hands are always welcome!" The man said shortly after. "Receive a status check at the gate and you'll be allowed in!"
"Thank you!"
Zack heard some further muttering at the top of the gate, and shortly after the massive wall that was the gate itself receded upwards. Somebody stepped out, holding what looked like some kind of crystal ball.
"Simply appraise your status and you'll be good to go." The now decidedly lady held out a dagger and the ball, looking at Zack expectantly.
"Uhhh... Right, doing that..."
He reached for the dagger, but the lady gave him a questioning look. He thought better, and instead reached a finger out. He pulled off what seemed to be a... Leather, glove. And pricked his finger on the sharp edge.
All the while the lady didn't seem confused, so he figured he was doing it right. Then he let a drop of blood drip onto the orb, and the liquid melded into it. Shortly after the orb grew brighter and brighter untill it shimmered with a deep blue light. Once it reached a peak it projected the results of his status page onto the open air.
Zack, human.

Abilities, Planeswalker.
The person who'd just checked Zack's abilities whistled slowly. "No abilities and stats like that? How the hell'd you even survive the flux like that?" She shook her head and turned back to the gate. "ALL CLEAR!"
Zack was about to speak up about having an ability, before he remembered that in the description of Planeswalker, it said that only other "walkers" could see the ability. Why it didn't specify other "Planeswalkers" like the rest of the ability did, he wasn't sure. But regardless, this woman seemed unable to see it.
She turned back around and smiled at Zack, "you're free to enter. Stop by the town hall, I'm sure they'll have something for you to do. There always is. Come along."
"Right, thanks."
Just have to figure out where exactly that town hall... Is.
...
Zack had been walking around for awhile, following a proverb he treated almost religiously back on earth. Just look like you know what you're doing, and nobody will question you. He walked with grace and poise, or at least as much as he could manage. The people he passed paid him no attention, mercifully. After all his anxiety was already screwing with him.
...Buuuut he was starting to get a bit worried, where exactly was he supposed to go...? Right now he was just looking for a big building, and he'd seen a few that were bigger then normal. But surely this supposed town hall would be larger, right?
As of this moment, he was following a group of tired looking rather muscular people. If they just finished something might they be going back to report somewhere?

You know what why don't I just ask...?
Zack caught up with the group, and before they took notice of him introduced himself.
"Uh hey, I'm new in this town, could you tell me where the town hall is?"
The four gave him a confused glance, before shrugging it off. "It's at the center of the town, same as most other places. Never seen civilization before?"
"Ahah... You could say that, thanks."
Awkward...! But hey! Just gotta go inwards then? Off I go then!
...
After another few minutes, Zack came across a building that he could definitively pin down as a "town hall". It was almost three times the size of normal houses, and he was pretty sure that it wasn't a normal place. Given the amount of people moving in and out of it. So with a great effort, covered by a false confidence, he stepped through the doors. And pretty quickly he figured out where to go.
Zack stepped up to a counter with a bored looking man sitting at the other side. Though he looked up and straightened himself a bit as Zack got closer. "Hello sir, don't believe I know your name?" He asked questioningly.
"Ah, names Zack. I'm new here, I was told to come here at the gate to look for work?"
Learning what to do and surviving is my current priority...
"Ah, well new hands are always welcome. Especially during times like this, can you believe it? Unlucky enough to live through a rising flux, ridiculous." The man sighed exasperatedly. "So, what can you do?"
"Oh, physical labor. That's about it."
"What? No, mate, I was asking about your class. What is it?"
"I see... Well uh, my class is wanderer."
"...Is that a advancement of advanced scout?"
"Uh, no... This is my only class."
"Hm... Not sure I've seen somebody get a tier two class for their first class before, that's interesting. Welp! So you'll be good at scouting yeah?"
"I'd certainly hope so. I have a skill called wanderlust. As long as I'm moving I'll eventually get to where I need to be. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but as long as I'm walking, I'll reach the place that I need to be at some point."
"Hmmm, that could be quite helpful. Is there anything more specific about it? Or is it only vaguely described? Mind reading it out for me?"
"Yeah, I can do that." Zack cleared his throat before speaking again.
"Class, Skills." Zack proceeded to tell the man verbatim what the skill description was. "Wanderlust, unranked skill, evolution possible. Your soul yearns for freedom at all times. Nothing may bind you, nothing may tie you. Grow empowered in both mind and body by traveling the world. Subconsciously find your destination."
"Well then, definitely a bit better then what I initially thought it was if it's an unranked skill that you can evolve. Glad you came in, you could be pretty helpful with locating and dealing with some of the stronger beasties before they pop up in a flux. So do you know what exactly counts as a destination?"
"No... I don't, I haven't had this for long sorry."
"...Say, mate, when did you get your class?"
"Errrr... I think I might have amnesia of some kind."
"Hell makes you say that mate? Pretty damn rare issue! If there's something you don't want to say you don't have to tell me."
"No, I'm serious, I don't remember."
If I need some kind of excuse I'm going to go with a classic, not. "Oh yeah I'm actually from a different world, sorry guys can you explain everything to me?" In the first place, Planeswalker is prooooobably hidden for a reason...
The man eyed him suspiciously for a moment, before shrugging and sighing. "If you say so. Well, what would you say to doing some testing, and if it goes well. Looking for a troublesome monster that managed to get away from the EGO users this flux?"
"Sure? But also, what exactly does that entail? And the hell is an EGO user?"
"Hooo boy, I'm not sure if you're pulling my chain here or not. But if you really want a full course, I'll oblige ya mate. Hey, Jeff! Mind taking over for me for say... Twenty minutes? Got a fella with "Amnesia" here who needs a primer!"
I heard the air quotes in that you asshole...
A taller man strode over to the desk and eyed Zack disbelievingly before shrugging and motioning for his companion to get up. "Right, go ahead and clear up this guys questions then." He shrugged again and crashed down into the chair as the prospective guide stood up.
Zack realized he hadn't asked the mans name yet, and sought to correct that mistake. "Say, what's your name? I don't believe I got it."
"Ah, names Miller, current acting mayor of the town."
"Oh... Nice to meet you, Miller."
Note to self, maybe don't lie to the mayor of the town? Ah well in for a penny in for a pounding.
