Cooper walked next to an unoccupied caravan, deeming it the best place to look at his Stalker's skills in peace.
"Nobody should bother us here for a bit, so let's have a look at you properly." Cooper met his Stalker's expectant gaze.

"Apparently you're the more intelligent of the two of us and you can't even talk. Though I suppose speech isn't necessarily a mark of intelligence." Cooper mostly ranted to himself.
"Since you are pretty agile, I can imagine you're gonna get skills that work off that later down the line, or at least I hope you will. I was thinking of investing in that and bringing that up to 30, what do you think?" Cooper asked his surprisingly attentive looking Stalker.
"Right, I agree, it's a solid investment. Next, your Endurance is pretty low so maybe bump that up to 10 and maybe keep with the theme of you being smarter than me and get Intelligence up to 10 as well." Cooper's Stalker turned his head to the side.
"Oh, so you agree with that too, do you? That's good. Lastly, I think we should just throw the rest into Strength, maybe you'll be able to bite through troll skin. That'd be neat." Cooper thought back to the fight with the troll, remembering it's nigh impenetrable hide. Assigning the points, Cooper looked at the new and updated Status for his Stalker.
Juvenile Grey Stalker (Male) - Level 10 Stalker - Companion
HP 175/200 MP 5/5
Strength - 14
Agility - 30
Endurance - 10
Intelligence - 10
Wisdom - 3
Magic - 2
"Huh. Your HP went up with the Endurance upgrade. At least I'm assuming it was the Endurance that did it, I don't think mine worked like that. You didn't go to 200/200 either, just a halfway point it looks like. Maybe there's a threshold I have to reach before Endurance starts doing it's thing, or Companions just work differently." Cooper brought up his own Status to make sure he wasn't losing his mind.

Cooper - Level 10 Human - Ranger
HP 124/150 MP 18/35
Strength - 10
Agility - 20
Endurance - 15
Intelligence - 6
Wisdom - 10
Magic - 8
"Oh. I guess I didn't check last time but it did go up. I am sure it did not the first time, I think I got my Endurance up to 10 from 8 or 9 and it didn't affect my HP so looks like there's a threshold for me at 10." Cooper rubbed his chin in thought.
"Well, regardless, that takes care of that. I should rummage around and see if you have any skills or skill points to divvy out as well."
Cooper saw the same 'Abilities' part in his Stalker's status that he had and poked at it.
Abilities
Communication - Level 3
Loner - Level 3
Last of the Line (Unique) - Level 1
"That's actually pretty sad. Is that why you were on your own in the woods when we met?" Cooper could swear his Stalker shed a tear and looked down at the ground.
"Well, you're not alone anymore, though you seem to go off on your own a lot of the time." Cooper pet his Stalker who perked up almost immediately.
"So, what do these Abilities actually do, I wonder." Cooper extended the display of Communication.
Communication - Level 3
Improves the ability to understand commands and wishes through the bond, both ways.
"Both ways? Meaning you could actually impress a wish on me through the bond?" Cooper looked at his Stalker who didn't seem to have a thought behind those eyes.
"Keep your secrets, then. What about Loner." Cooper poked at Loner.
Loner - Level 3
While working independently or alone, increases damage resistance by 15% and damage by 15%.
"That's vague. What even constitutes as independently or alone? If I give you a command to go hunt or something, does that prevent the ability from triggering? What if you're doing both at the same time, alone and independently, do you get double the bonus? So many questions, so few answers."
"Right, now on to the saddest one." Cooper slightly frowned and poked at Last of the Line.
Last of the Line (Unique) - Level 1
You carry the legacy of an entire lineage that came before you, will you preserve the legacy or be the end of it?
"Okay, a lot of things, but firstly, the way that's worded, it's like it's for you to read. Is that something you can do, read your own Status?" Cooper stopped walking, looking at his Stalker, expecting an answer.
"Right, I don't know what I was ex-" Cooper was interrupted by a single word, echoing in his head.
"YES."
