Chapter - 13

"Remember, it's not free and I expect to be paid first thing when you get enough for it!" Rull yelled at Cooper who was admiring his new axe.

"Yeah, I got it, no worries, I'll get you something worth this soon!" Cooper yelled back.

"Well, what do ya say boy, it's a decent one, right?" Cooper asked his Stalker who just kept walking.

"Yeah, I agree, it's a pretty good deal I think we got." Cooper spoke to his Stalker again. "So, where should we head next? Tommy or the duo?" His Stalker just looked at him, now that they weren't walking anywhere. "Guess I should leave Tommy and Darren alone until I know they're done with whatever it is they're talking about, so the duo it is."

While walking, Cooper was trying out different ways and spots to hold his axe, but ended up on his right side, hooked to the belt. After a bit more walking, he arrived back with Ardel and Razar, the latter looking slightly distressed at the sight of him walking towards them.

"Oh no, Ardel, he's back, with more questions I bet." Cooper heard Razar say to Ardel.

"I still don't get why you're afraid of his 'questions'. It really wasn't that bad."

"What you went through wasn't anything close to what I went through, I don't know what game he's playing at."

"I'm right here you know." Cooper announced.

"Yes, yes, the longer I can keep you from asking questions, the better." Razar said, slight smile at the corner of his mouth appearing.

"Well, regardless, I don't have any questions, yet, I just came by to show you my spear and my axe, both the courtesy of Rull. Spear was free, axe I owe a debt for."

"Let's see them then." Ardel said from the side, motioning towards Cooper's new spear, which Cooper offered to Ardel and the axe to Razar.

Razar gave the axe a couple of swings, pretended to pull it off his belt and then threw it towards the woods, disappearing mid-flight and reappearing in his hand. Razar seemed pleased with it.

"Good enough, not my thing and not enchanted, but, good enough, especially for your first weapon. Or second weapon. Either way, you are lucky." Razar handed Cooper back his axe.

Next Cooper watched Ardel, who he didn't know could handle a spear, he'd only seen him with his knives and other knives. Ardel gave the spear a couple of thrusts, tested the balance and a couple of other moves, slashing and using the butt. Ardel seemed to Examine the spear before handing it to Cooper.

"It's been a while since I handled a spear but it seems good, Examine said much the same thing. You know, if we ever get to an area with Nagas, we should hunt some. Good money, good weapons. My preferred material, when applicable. When it comes to the non-high end stuff at any rate." Ardel offered, surprising Cooper.

"Well, that leaves me with a couple questions." Cooper gave Razar a glance, who seemed terrified. "For one, why me, and secondly, anything else we could do for money? I'm slightly in debt for the axe, spear was free, like I said."

"These aren't very profitable hunting grounds, low tier beasts and only a couple of combat dungeons. Much more of a resource area, with material dungeons a plenty." Razar said, answering Cooper's second question, much to his surprise.

"As for the second one, we did fight together and you kept your head cool, far as we could tell. You seem to have a good head for improvising and thinking under pressure. Priorities straight, too." Ardel answered in turn.

"Oh. Thank you. I didn't know I made such an impression. I'll have to take you up on your offer, if we get the chance. That sort of thing has my interest piqued. Anyways, I think it's about time I went to check in on Tommy and Darren. Thanks for checking out the weapons, even though Rull gave me the impression he wasn't swindling me."

"Any time, and yeah, Rull's an honest man, our favourite when it comes to weapons." The duo both nodded.

"Well, I'll be off. See you soon. Especially you, Razar." Cooper smiled devilishly at Razar, who went stiff.
