After staying for 15 days in the Nexus (3 days in reality) ,they received a message from Jack .

The message indicated that a new batch was awaiting their treatment and they decided to log out and go to the hospital .

“Maybe once the gates are connected we do a mass treatment over at the colony and move back to the island until the colony is ready to be habituated” Helena proposed to Alex while walking to the hospital .

“I don’t know Helena , people are still arriving and we haven’t even prepared the nanites , I would like to wait until everybody has arrived before thinking about that” responded Alex .

“I’m just saying so because then we wouldn’t have to go to the hospital for three days every 4 days or so” she said .

“Cheer up , it won’t last forever besides you’re spending time with me” he joked .

“We spend nearly all our time together Alex” and she rolled with her eyes .

Once they arrived at the hospital they told Jack and Mary it shouldn’t be a problem to take pets with them to the colony and Mary was excited about it .

She claimed that they had formed a group who were anticipating the news if they could take pets with them .

Hearing this Alex and Helena turned red and blamed themselves not sending a message to tell them the news when they first heard it was possible .

For making it up Alex proposed to Mary she should make a list of all the animals the population wanted and send it to him so that he could make them deliver them to the island.

Mary was a little disappointed she couldn’t choose her pet herself but once Alex explained to her it was for security reasons she conceded .

They administered the nanites after hearing what courses the patients wanted to learn and Mary started networking in her group to spread the news among the residents and compile a list of pets that had to be ordered .

She was sure she would have a list within a week which startled Alex because it was fast considering the amount of people the island already had .

After three days of doing nothing but watch movies and talking to Jack and Mary the patients awoke like everyone before them , cursing at the stench and thirsty but happy when they noticed their appearance and health .

Their job done , Helena and Alex returned to their home after receiving the thanks of the treated .

“The gate on Mars should be finished within the next day or so” he told Helena while walking to their home .

“Nervous?” she replied .

“A little , better to make use of Mary’s networking skills to organize everybody and let Da’grass handle the stock purchase to keep those warehouses filled” he answered .

Once they entered the house , Da’grass told them that the shipments of goods were already scheduled and that the residents would be busy transporting them through the gate for the foreseeable future.

Once the goods were on the colony , the droids would handle them without any problems .

At that moment , Alex got a message from Sarah that the bracelets had been shipped and would arrive in a day or three , there would be 10 000 of them and she would stock a few in her warehouses in case he needed more of them .

“Well , looks like everything is taken care of for the moment” he told Helena .

“So we’ve got nothing to do here for the next day or so ?” she replied .

“Well the weather is fine and we are in Greece , how about we go to the mainland and enjoy the sights” she proposed .

“We’ve got a policy that once on the island you can’t leave without a good reason to keep everything a secret Helena , we can’t be breaking it ourselves , it would make a bad example” replied Alex .

“Well put on your swim shorts on then , we’ve got a pool that’s barely been used , spoilsport” said Helena .

And maybe later we could tour the island , see what’s new and needed or just talk to the people on it .

They spend their day relaxing in the pool with some music and when they were bored again they toured the city .

Helena was pleasantly surprised when she found out that the island had a small movie theatre and a bookstore .

Alex feared that with the Nexus these were doomed to attract as good as none customers but it was just a fore front in case someone came to inspect the island so he didn’t care .

At evening they went to a small restaurant that served Italian food and was managed by one of the first residents that the island received .

The manager/cook was happy to see Alex and Helena and did his best to serve them the best dishes he could make , he too had the treatment and was grateful for what they had done .

After dinner he refused any payments for the food and told them he could never repay him for what they had done for him .

Alex assured him that just by building their little society and following their hopes and dreams for the betterment of humanity was payment enough after which he reluctantly accepted the money .

They decided to go home after that instead of going to the movie theatre .

“Maybe I should loan out credits to them to start businesses in the Nexus” he told Helena while walking back home.

“That’s actually not a bad idea” replied Helena .

You could let them do the work and have minority stake at their company .

I was more thinking about letting them pay me back once their company takes of .

“Now that’s stupid” Helena chuckled .

Knowing you , you wouldn’t even charge interest .

Trust me , just ask for 30 percent of their company if you like their ideas , with the treatment they wouldn’t fare badly .

They’ll have the majority stake and you reap profits without doing anything .

Very well , I’ll do as you say , we’ll wait until the bracelets are distributed and let Da’grass handle the technical stuff like setting up the contracts and the buying of buildings .

“I knew you had it in you , good for me” said a smiling Helena with a twinkling in her eyes .

“Good for you ?” asked a confused Alex .

“Because that means that I was right about you all along” and she kissed him.

But let them take the treatment before they buy their businesses , just to be sure there are as little mistakes as possible .

After they got home they went to bed but it took a while before they fell asleep.

At around 10 o’clock in the morning Alex received the message that the gate was installed and ready for use .

Helena immediately wanted to try out the gates but Alex suggested to share the moment with Sam and Sarah , after which he send a message to them to meet at the warehouse with the gate installed .

Da’grass reminded them that according the shipment schedules the warehouses should be empty before tomorrow so they had to organize the people to do so.

Remembering how fast the warehouses were emptied last time while loading the ship Alex didn’t worry and send a message to Mary to gather the people in the afternoon with clear instructions and why she needed to do so .

The reply was that she would do so immediately and the excitement was evident in the message .

They had something light to eat and went to the warehouse where Sam and Sarah were already waiting for them .

“Come on slowpokes , what took you guys so long , we had to log off first to come here and we beat you guys to it” said an excited Sam .

“Don’t scold them Sam , maybe they were busy with something more important like making my grandchild” joked Sarah .

“MOM” yelled Helena and everybody started laughing including Alex .
