After examining the bodies we decide to head further into the ruins.
Nearing the end of this hallway we see what at first glance appears to be another elevator, but this one has a few noticeable differences. Sitting in the center of this small room is a pedestal with a stone hand holding some sort of crystal ball on the top. The material the room is made of seems to be different as well, rather than a sand colored stone the walls are made of a dark grey, almost black stone.
Maddy enters first and I follow her, after resting for a while my mana is completely restored.
After entering the door closes itself like it had done before.
I begin investigating the crystal ball while Maddy prepares for any possibly surprise attack.
"Doodoodadoo." I begin making noises as I move the stone fingers around in different order.
"Why are those finger's flexible?" Maddy seems rather confused at this malleable stone.
"No clue, I observed it with my skill and it said I could move the fingers."
After a bit of fumbling around with the fingers they lock in place and the crystal ball begins to glow.
'I need to remember what the location of each finger is!'
After hastily remembering the finger locations I feel another sense of weightlessness.
No. This feeling is new. This isn't like riding in an elevator, this is like floating through space.
"Woah cool." Maddy expresses her amazement at the zero gravity.
"What is this room? if it was an elevator we should feel like we're falling, but now we are literally floating..."
The two of us slowly float through the air inside the room, if I ever go to space the feeling would not be unfamiliar now.
After floating around for an unknown amount of time the walls begin to glow and the gravity slowly increases as we slowly drop down to the floor of the room.
"Well that was a thing, I wonder where we are now." I quickly got over the interesting experience and the door opened back up for us to exit the room.
I look over and Maddy seems to be pouting that the interesting experience is now over, but I am rather interested in the adventure to come.
This hallway is a dark burgundy color and the sounds of dozens of monsters can be heard from further down the hallway. I grip my staff and walk ahead of Maddy to light up the pathway. Walking into the light cast by my staff were five of the insect monsters we had previously killed. Maddy attempts to use the skill she used previously to dispatch the two monsters we had met in the other hallway.
Emerging behind two of them she attempts to plunge her daggers into their necks, but she is countered by two of the other three monsters.
"Jordan! Are you going to be doing anything?" Maddy complains about not helping yet.
"How was I supposed to know that you were going to attack them immediately?!" I shout back continuing our usual bickering.
'I can't use my light manipulation very well yet so attempting to take on a crowd probably won't work very well. I doubt my earth manipulation will work on this weird stone. Hmmm well in one manga I read this guy made wind arrows, I guess I'll try that!'

Holding my staff in my left hand like a bow I nock an imaginary arrow as it begins forming out of rotating air. Release! I fire the first arrow at one of the insects and it attempts to block with it's arms crossed. The arrow hits and quickly begins slowing down, but not until the creature's forearms were separated from the rest of the body.
"Crap not enough power." While I managed to injure it I didn't manage to kill it.
While I'm horsing around with my power Maddy is trying to deal with three of the monsters. She first makes a sweeping slash across two of the monster's ankles and leaping back to avoid their attack. Without her assassination skills the most she can do is slow them down. Returning to my side she throws a number of throwing knives, landing in random locations on the monster's bodies.
"Gosh Maddy maybe I overestimated you because of how quickly you cleaned up two of them." I make a teasing smile hoping to get a rise out of her.
"Shut up, it's your fault for not properly distracting the first three that I wasn't killing."
I begin to prepare another attack, but then realize it might be best to injure the whole group at once.
'What kind of attack should I try instead? Oh!' I suddenly think of Krillin from Dragonball z and his special move.
"Maddy watch out I'm going to try out another attack." I warn Maddy so she won't complain about getting hit by friendly fire.
Raising my right hand over my head with my fingers stretched out.
'Actually this isn't very comfortable, maybe there is a more familiar way to do this'
Bringing my hand back down I face my right side towards the monsters, then I reach my hand towards my left elbow and form a disk of air. I flick my wrist and throw the spinning blade of wind like a frisbee. As the disk spins and goes further it grows in size.
The first two creatures are shredded and their upper and lower halve are separated, but the three in the back, one missing it's arms, are only lightly damaged.
"Damn this wind really loses it's strength quickly."
I look towards Maddy who seemed to be focusing with a number of throwing knives in her hands.
"Maddy throw those and I will try to help direct them!"
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"I will try to manipulate the air again, but just shift the direction of your knives and increase their strength."
"Ah, okay! Good idea!" Maddy's compliment lifts my spirit and causes me to work even harder.
Throwing the knives their path should land them close, but not directly on where their vitals should be located. Picturing the needed path in my head I create small currents of wind to direct the blades to the proper locations. Two blades for each monster, a blade through the heart and one into the skull for extra measure. The force breaks directly into the skull and through the ribs, the force is extraordinary.
I give Maddy a small smile and a thumbs up as we head further down the hall.
