Jain continued leaping as he neared the dungeon boss , he had grown near to the point where he could actually physically see it :
It could be described not just monstrous but also terrific with not just two but 4 mandibles , ton of legs and it's behind enormously larger then the rest of the body - it was probably where the eggs came from.
It seemed to see jaon too, but Jain didn't care about that.
A thick purple mist surrounded the ugly thing , enforcing Jain's belief that this was the real deal - the dungeon boss.
With only just a few metres seperating it and him ,Jain formed a fist to punch it , inititiating his first attack.
Normally attacking openly would be risky but with it's minions still not hatched it didn't have much of a chance of stopping Jain's attack by using them as meat shields and it's durability seemed far too low compared to the murderous ants , Jain could tell with just a glance.
He was already good with estimating an enemies strength by paying attention to their movements and its general outside make up but after he got this strange power , he was now capable of estimating an enemies strength and durability close enough to its real status.
With just a few centimetres from being punched by Jain , the dungeon boss or rather ant queen made a very loud screech.
It was extremely bothersome to the ears to the point where Jain felt like his ears would bleed. This was most likely a strategy to imtercept Jain by making him suffer the unbearable sound, destroying his guard and the ant queen would attack the open Jain advantageously with no retaliation.
But Jain wouldn't fall into the enemies hands.
Just when he was about to punch the insect queen , he felt a rough force hitting him by his right directly on his ribs , similarly to being kicked by something huge.
The force was more than enough to knock him off his course and sending him flying.
Jain struggled as he suffered from the momentum, but he quickly regained himself after stepping in the ground to slow himself
He coughed a bit of blood , and faced the queen to get a grasp of what exactly had happened :
In front of him was a very humanoid creature , it had the exact shape of the human with two arms , two feet, a torso and a head. But it didn't look human.
It had an insect head instead of that of a human with large beady eyes , an absent mouth and long antennas which stretched frontward on its forehead.
It had a black and red tough looking exoskeleton , Jain could tell that with his evaluation skills that not even a town wide explosion could leave a scratch on it.
It also had two long and typically narrow wings which popped out where the shoulder blade was supposed to be on its back stretching to reach its knees.
On top of that it had a slim built body which accommodated flight and speed with razor sharp fingers and toes which themselves could be classified as lethal weapons.
The humanoid insect infront of him looked crazy strong , and Jain honestly didn't think he had a chance.
It was foolishly naive to think it would be that easy to defeat the dungeon boss with just a single punch without expecting a bit of retaliation from the recipient.
Jain wiped off the blood from his mouth , feeling the strange power he acquired by a miracle start to grow a little.
The strength in his muscles, his perception speed and reaction speed all seemed to get some sort of small 'power up'

He never took off his eyes from the humanoid insect , losing focus in a battle against a powerful opponent such as this could mean the death of him.
He hadn't even seen the thing come when it attacked him , let alone sense it.
If it weren't for his eyes which now saw the thing infront of him , he could have never interpreted that it was it that attacked him.
That thing stood in a crouched position with its razor sharp fingers ready to attack at any moment.

If Jain was the insect , he would have attacked the enemy while he had lost balance so as to gain the upper hand in the fight and that was what most dungeon monsters usually did ; throwing rapid attacks at a foe without thinking critically , not that they could.

Jain couldn't tell where the insect was looking with its several hexagonal eyes , but he could somehow tell if was staring at him.
Jain decided , he would try again to attack the insect to intentionally provoke it.
The plan was to study it's fighting style to find opportunities to attack , he couldn't wait there for eternity.
Jain decided to put it to action , jumping towards the humanoid insect for an attack.
.. .
Vin had barely managed to catch up to jain when his jaw dropped when he saw Jain being thrown over the place with just a measly kick , the kick had came from a humanoid insect which now stood next to the queen, protecting it.
The strange creature had arrived in the battle field at a moment's notice, Vin hadn't even seen where it had come out from and only saw it after it had attacked Jain.
𝑰𝒇 𝑰 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝑰𝒏 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒆𝒔, 𝑰 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒅𝒊𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒕.
Vin evaluated as such ,he was a man who knew defeat from just a glance and he could tell that the insect's kick was more than he could bargain for.
The kick would definitely break all his ribs and squash his organs combined , ultimately killing him.
It was only because of Jain's inhuman durability that he was able to shake off that kick with only just a little blood cough. It was an impressive feat.
Jain looked like he was about to attack back , Vin paid even more attention to the battle between the two.
Jain at the start attacked with two consecutive punches,at first glance they may seem like normal punches but Vin could tell they were levels above from normal , he had seen Jain rip apart and smash to pieces hundreds of ants with just his bare hands.
But the insect was quick , it dodged both of them as quick as they came with grave and even counterattacked with 5 more attacks of it's own ; the attacks were 5 slashes with its razor sharp fingers , fingers that seemed more than capable of casually slicing through a human's bones.
Jain managed to dodge the first slash by quickly dashing backwards out of instinct, but the next 4 slashes hit home.
It was only because Jain had anticipated their targetted area that he was able to cross his arms above his chest and also because of the metal equipped on both of his arms that acted as sacrificial items that he was able to survive the attacks without any scratches.
From the point on , Jain was on the receiving end.
The insect consecutively attacked him from all possible angles , with its speed it was more than just possible ; it attacked from the side , Jain was growing quicker too and defending right at the last second before an attack hit but the insect grew faster and faster each and every time Jain blocked its attacks , that they almost seemed like a blur in Vin's eyes.
Jain seemed to be the most inexperienced one in the battle while the humanoid insect masterfully used its speed to attack Jain from the sides - his back and legs.
As the fight continued , Jain seemed tonhe unable to dodge or block all the attacks but atleast only attacks which didn't seem fatal landed but eventually the wounds would build up and become something threatening.
Just as Vin was almost lost in the battle , he felt a sense of danger on the back of his head and decided to quickly leap forwards.
His instantaneous decision saved his life , because right where he stood was a large and sharp insect leg in his place stuck on the ground which would have claimed his life.
The ants had hatched during the time Jain had fought and now were approaching Vin who had been too absorbed In the battle to notice.
Vin prepared a 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁 spell as an attack.
It was the fastest attack in his spells and the quickest to cast. A bullet of fire quickly formed and was shot at the ant.
Vin had aimed for the head and it hit, yet after , the ant emerged unharmed and without a single scratch - it had shook off the spell as if it was some sort of bluff , in addition to being fast and quick to cast , the spell was one of his powerful spells yet here was the ant remained unharmed by it and even closing in on Vin.
𝑫𝒂𝒎𝒏 𝒊𝒕 !
Vin was not stupid as to throw the same spell at the thing, his mana reserves were low from earlier spell casting , 3 more fire bullets and he would be empty leaving him ultimately defenceless.
𝑰 𝒅𝒊𝒅𝒏'𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝑰'𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒐 𝒔𝒐𝒐𝒏.
Vin exhaled heavily, it was a drag to how quickly things escalated.
As so , he was now forced to use his final hope - his 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗽 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱.
