The mouth within the ceiling roared as it came to life, the eyes darted up and down trying to find what minuscule creature dared raise a hand against him. The giant face soon laid its gaze on the brightly shining Fairy lit torch and the hand connected to it.

"Who dares!" the face in the ceiling roared as the vine tendrils began to shift and move forming dense masses of greenery.

"Watch out!" Sprite yelled, the enemy swung the mass like a mace, intending to flatten Yvlena like a bug. She jumped out of the way, rolling and nearly dropping the torch.

The mass landed with a solid thump, rattling the building as it did.

"I never thought I'd be fighting in the dark!" Yvlena said, trying to back away. She couldn't see behind her and tripped over a branch sticking out from the floor, now gazing up she could see Commander Addison's anguished face.

From its place affixed to the ceiling, the head wriggled and thrashed as if trying to wrest its way out of its prison. Yvlena stared up at teary eyes, the eyes of a man who wanted to be free but could not.

Addison stopped thrashing long enough to notice her staring from the ground. He growled, snarling at her as drawing in a huge gasp of breath. He spat in her direction, The drop shaped projectile flew rapidly in Yvlena's direction.

Already knowing she didn't want to get hit by the acidic spittle she moved fast, rolling unto the floor and watching the liquid hit the ground. The liquid splattered dissolving the branch she had fallen on only moments ago.

The girl scrambled up, gripping her sword in one hand and the Fairy lit torch in the other.

"Carrot shot?' she blasted her new skill, allowing a bullet of carroty energy to impact the creature's face. Addison snarled as he absorbed the hit.

"Alright!" Yvlena cheered, her victory was short lived as the face in the ceiling retaliated, sending a vine shaped hand to grab Yvlena.

The girl left the area swiftly diving under the hand that tried to grab her, in a bit to locate her summons.

Sprite and Rabbit Knight had stayed busy fighting the tangled mass of leaves the enemy had dropped. The mass split open to reveal a still beating heart wrapped by vines.

"His weakness!" Yvlena said. Deciding to leave the battle to her summons, She crafted another Fairy lit torch, using the light of her previous one she lit it and flung both at the face to distract it.

The commander bellowed again and turned its attention to Yvlena. The mass of tangled leaves was pulled up into the abyss leaving Sprite and Rabbit Knight to focus on protecting their summoner.

"We need to distract it so it lets down its weakness again!" Yvlena said, she crafted another pair of fairy lit torches and threw them again.

They collided with the face in the ceiling but fell soon after. With the four torches scattered all around the area, the room slowly became more lit allowing Yvlena to see the true extent of the room.

Yvlena and her summons were surrounded by living vines creeping around waiting for a chance to do some passive damage. She gasped, quickly crafting two more torches to throw.

Fairy magic did damage to the undead, it would be wise to try to level Sprite up somehow but a common couldn't evolve the way rare and higher ranked summon stones could.

With better lighting, she swung her sword and fired her new skill.

She blasted and blasted, surprised that her new skill could allow her to fire in rapid succession. Yvlena persisted until a wave of dizziness hit her.

"My mana!" she said as the game gave her a warning notification. "It must be from all the magic, this skill is totally a mana drain I'll have to be careful from now on."

Commander Addison's head roared and once again the mass of leaves was dropped, barely knocking Yvlena away in the process.

Sprite and Rabbit Knight leap into action, stinging and stabbing until the plant heart was revealed once more.

Directly impaling the heart with the orange beam of light, Commander Addison cried out in anguish as his heart was attacked by might and magic. With a huff he retracted it.

The party scattered, avoiding the heavy acidic spittle flung at them.

"We just need to keep going and soon we'll have him," Yvlena said. She continued to craft a few more Fairy lit torches to pelt them at the enemy when suddenly she had an idea.

"Keep him busy I have an idea!" Yvlena said. Rabbit Knight nodded in acknowledgment while Sprite saluted to her and flew off to continue blasting the creature.

Pulling her inventory up Yvlena scrolled through her recipes until she came across a reward from one of Risel's tasks she had done prior.

Yvlena went to the furthest corner of the room just out of sight of the monster and set out her cauldron.

She ignored the crawling vines trying to attack her and got the herbs to place them in the now bubbling pot.

She slashed a vine that got a bit too close and retrieved the bottle she had gotten from William's stateroom. In an instant she had the mixture bottled up.

Explosive Potion x1]

Yvlena in a panic, ran towards her summons who were just about holding their own in battle.

She skidded to a halt then, drew her hand back to launch her newest creation. But as she was about to throw the potion, it was smacked out of her hand by a rogue vine. The bottle landed on the ground, luckily it didn't explode and another vine kicked it, making it roll further and further away.

"Ah! The potion!"

She ran towards, it using her sword to tear and slash away at the obstacles keeping her away from the potion rolling away.

Yvlena dove into the leaves, grabbing the potion before it could be dragged into a deep crevice.

"Oh no you don't!"

Yvlena ripped her bottle from the vines, breaking it off in the process. She took steady aim and launched the bottle at Commander Addison's face.

The fiery concoction burst to life, with flames rapidly eating at the leaves and wood that made up the area as well as the creature's face, but just as the recipe described the flames withered away after 30 seconds but not before causing an untold amount of damage to the boss.

The face within the ceiling made a sound that caused the floor beneath them to rumble, from below vines burst out and aimed to grab members of the party.

Yvlena jumped over it and began running so she could find a place to check her inventory and get some of her mana potions, the dizziness was starting to affect her, it wouldn't be long before she had to drink a mana potion by force.

Rabbit Knight swiftly cut through the vines as Sprite dodged the vines that tried to grab her mid air.

Yvlena downed the potion feeling an icy sensation run down her throat.

"Wow, that is not what I expected this to taste like,"

Energy returned to her in a second, she gripped her sword, now that her mana was restored she was able to use magical attacks again.

Commander Addison released the mass holding its heart once more giving Yvlena and her party ample time to attack it.

The girl fired off a Carrot beam, watching as it went straight through the heart of the former man.

"My heart!" Commander Addison cried out, his eyes rolled into the back of his head, Yvlena could only see the color of his sclera as she looked up.

"What's he doing now," she asked. If only she had another bottle, the explosive potion would be able to help her right now.

Commander Addison watched them move with hesitation, the face in the ceiling began to chuckle.

"You who dares enter my domain, prepare to meet your end," he said.

Once again the vines burst out from underneath them but these vines didn't intend to trap them, no, these vines were different.

Yvlena could see from the exterior they were thorny vines dripping and oozing venom meant to strangle them and put an end to the battle

With the carrot sword, she cut and slashed at the vines coming for her.

The objective was clear, it was to keep her and her party away from the heart. Yvlena ran and jumped over any thorny vines that tried to encircle her leg.

She picked up one of the Fairy lit torches and began using it to thwack the vines coming for her. At the touch of the light, the vines shrunk away from her.

"Sprite's magic," she said, if she could get high enough to use it directly on the monster's face they would no doubt win.

Yvlena sheathed her sword and began searching around for the tangled mass of plants protecting Commander Addison's heart. She found it amidst a swirling mass of vines posed to attack anything that came close.

Yvlena ran towards it, using her Fairy lit torch to make her way toward the object of her goal.

With a yelp, she grabbed unto the plantful mass as it was pulled into the sky by Commander Addison, Sprite followed.

"Yvlena!" she called, Rabbit Knight leaped into the air just managing to catch the bottom of the plant heart vessel.

"Good job," she said, they ascended toward the monster's face and it was time for Yvlena to enact her plan.

She clenched the torch in her hand and with a frightened shout, jammed it into the monster's face. Commander Addison screamed, vines around them began to swarm as Yvlena continued to stab the monster with the torch and Sprite continued to cast sting.

The ceiling began to shake, as the face continued to scream and thrash.

"It burns! It burns!"

Slowly, the giant face began breaking apart in flecks of light. Just like that Yvlena knew the battle was over.
