He walked to his future trap room that connected to the outside and started summoning his drone. In front of him the worker drone formed. The drone was about the size and shape of a basketball and was made of some sort of metal with neon green lines going all over the drone. Attached to its metal ball frame were four flexible mechanical arms with claws.
As the drone hovered in place Jake just kind of stared at it for a while. Then he started walking around the drone, observing it from all angles. The designs of his drones were clearly extremely similar to one another. One was just a bigger metal neon green lined ball with four mechanical arms attached to it.
Deciding to run some tests to see if it worked the same as his scout drones, he quickly gave the worker drone some mental commands to see if it was also semi-intelligent. And after a few minutes of testing and having the drone bring him stuff and making it open doors. He decided it was time to make it start on some actual work aside from running some tests and playing around with the drone.
And since there were a-lot of mana stones and corpses that laid in a nearby clearing, just waiting to get collected. He opened his flush door and sent the drone away with orders to bring back all mana stones to in front of his door along with any other valuable things the corpses might have.
Then he closed the door again and start humming a tune while walking towards his shower. His create drone skill had been such a great choice. And he was really happy he had chosen the skill since its utility was incredible. Even more so than he had initially expected.
After a very long shower and with some clean clothes on his body, he walked towards the exit to his base. When he opened the door, there it was, in front of him laid a small stack of mana stones. And even a few monster parts that seemed pretty valuable. He quickly grabbed everything and took it all inside with him. He also ordered his worker drone to come along and help him carry the things to his storage room.
After he had put everything down he counted how many mana stones he had gotten from his overnight operation. After 2 recounts just to be sure of what he saw, he now had 18 minor mana stones that would give him 100MP each. His mana had also gotten back to 107MP since it had been a bit over an hour since he had summoned the worker drone. This resulted in him having a total over 1907MP to work with.
Deciding to waste no time he entered build mode right away.
His first priority was to himself a phone, as he was scrolling through the catalogs to find one he came along a-lot of computers but no phones. And then he remembered he could only create building related items. And phones were personal items not furniture or decorations.
Computers were basically part of buildings though. Since you couldn’t just go around carrying your pc for it to work wherever you go. It had to be inside a building connected to a outlet for it to work. So instead of being able to have a portable device that could connect him to his scout drones. He would now have to have a stationary device instead. And since that was already the case, why wouldn’t he just do it perfect from the start?
Moving over to the living room part of his central room, the room still being fully empty aside from some ceiling lights and air ducts running through the walls. The first thing he did was make a little L shaped couch in the corner of his living room. Then opposite of the L shaped couch he built a wall and then placed a huge Tv screen on the wall. The screen being 2 meters wide and 1 meter tall in a slight curve.
Then he found the best Pc he could currently afford. The pc would cost him 1000MP but it would be military grade. In other words he wouldn’t need an upgrade unless he planned to run a global drone network. Then he bought some speakers and other things he needed for his Computer set up to be fully complete. After connecting everything to each other and to power he moved on.
Now then he had already spent 1400MP of the 1907 MP he would have this way. The 507MP he had left he decided to use on expanding his power grid and tackling his clothing issue. First he decided to enhance his power grid by adding some more water wheels to his set up and connecting them all to his power lines.
Then he added a washer and a dryer into what would become his cleaning closet room. It was a pretty tiny room with just a washer, a dryer asd some racks for now. This all left him with 200MP so he used the leftover 200MP for a luxury queen sized bed with all the comforts one might need. built-in nightlight, built-in charger, extremely comfy pillows and mattress, last but not least:room for some mechanisms he would add into there later once he had more mana again.
He got his mana stones at the ready and finalized his new additions in build mode. And then the process started. The mana kept draining out of him while he kept replenishing it with mana stones. And 30 minutes later the construction had finished.
Excited, he quickly walked over to the pc and started it up. The pc turned on and he quickly took a seat on his new comfy couch while he grabbed the keyboard and mouse. His skill info had already told him he only had to command his drones to link up with the pc and the connection would be formed. So he commanded one of his scout drones to send a live feed signal to the pc. And sure enough moments later his big tv screen turned on and showed a image of a clearing, still filled with a-lot of half eaten or just crushed corpses.
Jake would finally be able to see and really control in detail what his drones did at a distance. Since his mental orders would work from anywhere in the world, but if he didn’t know what to order when he didn’t know what was going on with his drones. Then that part would have been kind of useless. Now though he would be able to control his drones from an possibly infinite distance. He had yet to figure out if there was a distance limit.

This would be a new chapter in this new system life. He would finally be able to discover all of the world from a safe place. And if he had a worker drone go with a scout drone to act as his hands and feet. While the scout drone would act as his eyes. Then he would have basically no need to exit the safety of his secret base. And no matter how childish the term secret base sounded it was the only fitting term. Since it was a base, and its entire purpose was keep him hidden and safe.
On the screen though he saw something starting to move. From the forest an animal entered the clearing. The animal was clearly an evolved version of a skunk. This evolved skunk was thrice as big as a normal skunk with green and purple fur and two tails. He ordered the drone he was currently observing through to stay back while his other 2 drones would start bashing in the badgers skull. As the went in to attack though the badger did something that made Jake pretty damn angry.
The badger had noticed the drones and instead of running it had turned its tail upward to the drone and shot out some sort of green gass. And when it hit the drones that entered the gass the drones slowly started melting.
He quickly ordered the drones to get out of there before they would get destroyed. As they flew out of the green cloud though. The skunk raised its second tail and aimed it at the drones. And from the second tail a purple goo shot out. Much like the first terror rabbit he had encountered. Only this time the purple glob was way bigger. About the size of an american football.
And though the first drone was able to dodge. The second drone wasn’t, and Jake watched on through his observing drone how the second drone fell to the ground. And as soon as that had happened he got a notification
1x Scout drone destroyed..
Jake cursed, although he also realized this would eventually have happened anyways. Maybe not with the skunk per-se but eventually an animal too strong or having a countering set of skills would have appeared that would be able to defeat his drones. Realizing the scout drone that was left would just get destroyed he ordered it to fall back for now.
This didn’t mean Jake had given up though. No the opposite was true, he had actually gained a brilliant idea through this. Now his worker drone was able to hold and make use of things just as Jake would be able to since it had functioning arms. And jake had a weapon creation skill, what prevented him from making weapons and giving them to his worker drone for it to fight with?
Like what if he just gave a few explosives or guns to the drone and ordered it to attack with those. He would have flying, weapon using soldiers! As he had regenerated 120MP he quickly opened his weapon creation catalog and went to explosives. He would try out guns later, for now he just made a few fragmentation grenades draining him of all his mana. He didn’t want to ruin the clearing with explosions unless necessary after all.
He then handed the explosives over to the worker drone .As he opened the door and sent the drone out his base to the clearing with orders to stay out of the skunks range. He turned back to the screen.
As he waited for the drone to arrive at the clearing he looked on, as the evolved skunk was just going to town on a corpse. It actually made him a little sick, seeing the skunk eat flesh like that. He made his drone turn away from the scene for a bit until his worker drone arrived.
Then he ordered his scout drones and worker drone to get in position. A vicious grin appearing on Jakes face as he mumbled; Destroy my drones will you? He sent the order for the worker drone to start throwing. And half a minute later he saw explosions appearing through his Tv he also heard the explosions sounds. He even saw a few fragments flying by on the screen. Then the notification came.
Hybrid skunk (poison,acid) level 4 killed + 221XP
He went silent after he read the notification. And then he shouted in outrage; A HYBRID SKUNK WITH 2 AFFINITIES, HOW IS THAT FAIR?! THATS LIKE IF I HAD 2 CLASSES! Then he realized he had literally killed the creature without him having to risk anything besides losing the MP he had spent on the drones. And thus he quickly calmed down again. He couldn’t exactly talk about fair either.
He was scared for what a higher level dual affinity skunk could do though. It was already way stronger than other creatures at the same level or nearby levels. Since other creatures hadn’t managed to destroy his scout drone.
Moving on from the horrifying thought of a super strong dual affinity monster, he quickly laid back down on his couch and ordered the worker drone to get the mana crystal and then return to his base. He would really need to make a special secret entrance for his drones. Since it was bothersome to keep opening his flush door for the drones to enter and exit. Not to mention it was also kind of a risk since it exposed his hidden base everytime he opened that door.
He kept his one half melted scout drone and his unharmed scout drone in the clearing to keep killing monsters that entered for now. But he would place a worker drone with some weapons there as soon as he could.
While he waited for his MP to regenerate he decided to sort out his storage and place his mana stone there. And after that he would just enjoy another shower because why not at this point. It wasn’t like he had anything else to do at this point.
After a while had passed he summoned another scout drone and another worker drone. He now had 2 worker drones and 3 scout drones. Then after he had some quick dinner with rations he still had from his hiking trip. He sent out his worker drones and scout drone to the clearing. Then when they got there he decided to run some more tests on what worker drones could really do. As he watched on through one of the scout drones he ordered a worker drone to attack a tree with its metal claws.
As the worker drone started punching the wood with forces equal too 100Kg they did leave dents in the wood. The bashing of his scout drones still did more damage though. Then suddenly Jake was hit by a crazy idea, the worker drones could fly right? And they could carry 100KG per drone.
And since he weighed less than 100KG would his worker drone be able to carry him around? And if one worker wouldn’t be able to would two workers drones do the trick? He wanted to test out this idea right away. And just when he was about to send the order he saw something swoop down from the sky towards the clearing on the TV.
Immediately focusing his attention on what he had just seen he ordered the scout drone to look at the creature that had just landed. It was a falcon of some sort. Although entirely covered in gray feathers that had a metal shine to them. The falcon was 1 meter tall and 40 centimeters wide. Which was huge for a bird!
Quickly he ordered his worker drones to hold the evolved falcon down while his scout drones attacked the falcon. And right when the worker drones were about the grab the falcon it flew away at a speed he couldn’t quite follow with his eyes. Now his drone had been able to record it. It just hadn’t been flying fast enough to keep track of the falcon.
Seeing as this falcon creature had easily dodged and outran his drones. He decided to wait off on his idea of flying with worker drones. Since clearly he wouldn’t be safe in the sky even with his drones protecting him. And since he wasn’t even able to keep track of the falcon with his eyes even if he used a weapon it wouldn’t matter.
So until he got either stronger drones or a better way to protect himself, flying was out of the question. Then a few more hours passed of Jake just watching the drones kill creatures. Him sometimes helping out with strategies. This continued until his mana had regenerated back to 400MP again. By now he was actually starting to get kind of sleepy since it had been a long and busy day.
But before he went to bed he summoned a fourth scout drone and a third worker drone. And then he sent them towards the city where he had lived before all this stuff happened on his hiking trip. He wanted to see how humanity was faring with all the new changes. And maybe he would even pick up some new useful information.
After having made sure both dro
nes were on their way to the city. The scout drone slowings it pace down by 100Km/h so the worker drone could keep up. He predicted they would arrive in 2 - 3 days. Since they could keep going without rest and went way faster than he had been able to walk.
