7. Let's get out of here

As they exited the house, they crouched as they moved to avoid the detection of the animals. They also avoided areas where the sounds of fighting could be heard, they didn't want to risk getting dragged into anything that involved giant teeth.

"So, where are we going?"

"Out of here, something's telling me things are just gonna get worse here."

With all the blood splattered on the walls and roads, Shane nods at what his friend said. It's better to leave now than to stay and get killed.

"We need to get some supplies then, I think there's a convenience store close by."

Shane points to a direction before both of them carefully went on on their way, being vigilant the entire time.

As the store entered their line of sight, a group of rats came scurrying by, moving their nose in the air as if looking for something. Shane and Clyde stopped and stood still, hoping that these little guys don't see them.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

One of the rats, smaller compared to the rest, started to move its nose towards their direction, it then stopped, its beady little eyes shining. It started to open its mouth to alert the group.

As Clyde notice the little rats actions, he immediately ran towards them as his eyes glowed, slowing time in a 15 meter radius with him in the middle. The group of rats were too slow, the majority of them were in the middle of growing larger when Clyde cut them up into tiny little pieces.

"Come on, more of those things might notice us." Shane said as he entered the store, meeting the eyes of people who had the same idea as them. Clyde nodded and entered as well, directly going to the canned goods isle.

Shane grabbed water bottles, chips, info and pictures of tools, and other stuff that could still fit inside his bag. He eyed the rest of the things on the shelf but he controlled himself and looked for Clyde.

"Got what you need?" Shane asks.

"Yeah, let's go."

They got out of the store quickly without paying, no use for money right now when the streets are littered with human hungry beasts.

Looking at the sun, they still had plenty of time to get out of this part of the city. Quickly, they disappear from view, only the sounds of their footsteps echoing before being drowned by the noise of fear and pain.
