As Shane kept on running, he saw a group of students fighting a huge rat with long incisors that seem to shine under the sun's light.
'Ohhh, they're gonna die'
As Shane started to change directions, he saw one of the students hand glow red as a ray fire comes out of it, hitting the rat directly in its eye, making it scream in pain.
"EEEEEK!!!"
". . ."
"Should've guessed it"
As he got farther and farther away from the fight, he started to think of what to do next, He couldn't just run around with no clear destination.
'I can't go back to the school of course, the dogs are probably still rampaging in front of it, do I go back home? No, too close to the school.'
As Shane was thinking of a place to go to, he heard something that brought joy to his soul.
"SHANE!"
He looked back only to see Clyde running towards him, being followed by a bunch of rabid animals. This made his joy sink down until it turned to fear that could be seen in his eyes.
"Clyde! RUN! They're right behind you!"
Shane shouts at the top of his lungs as he puts more strength to his legs, hoping it will help him outrun his situation, to no avail.
"Shane! Just give me your sword!" Clyde shouts as he keeps a certain distance from the red-eyed animals.
Shane throws the sword behind him as he darts toward a nearby alley, hoping Clyde doesn't get sliced by the sword he threw blindly.

As the sword arched down, Clyde's eyes glowed as everything within 15 feet of him slowed to a crawl. He grabbed the sword and started to hack the animals that seemed to have their entire bodies stuck in mud, paws in the air and jaws wide open.
Blood started to bead up in the air as the last animal, a rat, had its throat slit. The moment the sword finished its job, the bodies of the now lifeless animals fell to the ground with a wet thump, followed by their floating blood making splashes of red on the ground.
As the sound of slashing stopped, Shane was about to poke his head out only to have Clyde grab him by the wrist and dragged a good distance before he could get free and run by himself.
"Damn Clyde, did you kill all of them?" Shane asks as the both of them rush in and hide in an empty house.
"Yeah, but it doesn't really help the situation outside." Clyde replied as he looked out of the window. Seeing all sorts of things that shouldn't even be possible.
Shane just wryly smiles as he saw what was happening just on the other side of the window. He pushes his palm toward the wall, making another sword for himself just in case some of those things gets too close for comfort.
"So you have one too?"Clyde asked as he saw the process of how the sword was made.
"Have what?"
"Powers"
Shane looks back outside to see both people and animals throw fire and ice at each others faces.
"Seems like everybody has one."
"True"
Shane looks at Clyde, hoping he would have some sort of plan to get the both of them out of here.
"What?" Confusion apparent in his voice.
"What's the plan?"
"Why are you asking me?"
Shane shrugs his shoulders "Because your the one who plays games with this kind of content, I'm just hoping some of what you've learned could be applied in our situation."
"Those are games, not real life." Clyde shakes his head as screams and explosions could be heard outside.
"I don't think the world runs on the same rules anymore" Shane replies as the sounds outside intensify. Making his voice a bit harder to hear.
"Let's just get away from this place, the house might explode with us in it if we stay here any longer."
Clyde grabs his sword as he starts to go through the backdoor.
"God I hope not." Shane created a shield as he followed Clyde.
