As Shane continued to absorb the information flowing into his mind, he suddenly felt pain his head, which was mild at first, but it got stronger as he kept on allowing the symbols to enter him. He rubbed his temples to try to ease the pain, but it didn't work.
'Ow, ow ow ow'
He was about to block with his arms again when he remembered that they would just go through them like ghosts, so, with no other options left, he closed his eyes and just repeatedly said 'Stop' in his mind hoping it would do something about the pain that was gradually getting worse.
In a couple of breaths, his wish came true. The symbols stopped entering his body and the pain slowly subsided. It still kinda hurt, but it wasn't that intense anymore.
When he opened his eyes, which gave off a soft glow that immediately vanished, he saw that the symbols were slowly dissipating, with the remnant light particles going back to the white board or just straight up vanishing, going god knows where.
'I'm just gonna call them lux, no need to think too much about it'
"Ring! Ring! Ring!"
As Shane was immersed in his thoughts, the bell rang, which indicated that it was time for snacks. Shane stood up and was about to go the the canteen to use his homemade money when Clyde's hand landed on his shoulder. Shane shivered and whipped his head to look at Clyde's face.
"I'll do it, I'll do it, it's still thursday, so chill."
Clyde, who was about to say something that was weighing him down, suddenly found himself laughing out loud uncontrollably. He immediately stopped himself and tried to get back to normal to properly say what was on his mind.
"Not that, thanks for reminding me, but not that." At this point, his voice got a bit more serious. He was talking in soft fashion as if he didn't want anyone overhearing what he's saying.
"Did you see a sudden flash of light yesterday?"
"Yeah?" Shane replied, tilting his head a bit to the side.
"So it wasn't just me." His face was visibly relieved as he heard this. He put his arm around Shane's neck as he slowly walked toward the direction of the canteen.

"Did the world suddenly slowed down for you? Like, the birds suddenly looked as if they were flying in mud."
"Nooo?"
"Really? Like, that didn't happen to you?" Clyde was already questioning what he saw at this point.
"Dude, you were probably just disoriented, let's just go the the canteen and eat somethin, My stomach is already growling."
Clyde shook his head before showing a confused look. " You're already that hungry? Did you eat breakfast?"
"Yeah" Shane shrugged his shoulders and started to walk faster.
"Huh" Clyde just thought that Shane must have not eaten that much before following after him.
After the snackbreak was over and the bell rang three times, the students went back to their respective classroom to continue on with their day. Some were running like they were being chased while others took their time as they chatted with their friends.
As Shane sat down on his seat and looked around the classroom, he started to look for the floating lux. However, he didn't find any, which left him slightly confused.
'Are they gone or do I need to stare at the teacher?' With this thought, he looked at the teacher like he was staring at a gigantic piece of chocolate. In a few breaths, the words coming out of the teachers mouth suddenly turned solid and glowed before slowly heading to his eyes.
'What about the things on the whiteboard?' He turned his neck a bit to look at the board. The same thing happened, but this time, the words glowed a bit before the lux came out in sort peeling fashion. It then solidified and joined the line of lux formed from spoken words.
'Huh, good to know'
Shane's eyes slowly glazed over as the lux entered his body while he started to absorb the information flowing into his mind.
This went on for the majority of Shane's classes, he would only stop when his head started to hurt, to doodle, or when he heard his teacher saying his name to ask him a question. He would always say the correct answer, which boggled some of his classmates and teachers. He just smiled and sat down his seat calmy everytime it happened.
"Ring! Ring! Ring!"
As the final bell rang, the students packed their bags as they start to leave the school, Shane was no different. He packed his bag, stood up, and exited his classroom. On the corridor, he started to notice that some of his schoolmates seemed different. He just couldn't put his finger on it, so he just stopped looking and minded his bisuness.
As he walked, he started to think about what Clyde told him during snacks.
"So we both saw a flash of light yesterday? Was it at the same time though?" Shane shrugged his shoulders and continued on his way.
The way home was a bit weird, the animals were acting strangely, some were even a bit bigger than usual, and the plants seems to have grown weird appendages that slowly moved with the wind. They looked nice, but Shane felt like he shouldn't touch or even go close to the thing. He didn't know where the feeling came from, but he still followed it, 'nothing to lose anyway' he thought as he started to speedwalk towards his house.
