63: Haunting in the Old Building

"Let's go in."

Chen Yuanshan said to the three of us, and he entered the building first.

I, Jiang Yulin, and Xu Yan followed behind Chen Yuanshan. It was early spring in May in Yunhai City, with a bit of chill in the mornings and evenings, but the temperature was moderate around noon.

As we entered the building, a cold and eerie atmosphere greeted us. Jiang Yulin and I couldn't help but shiver.

Chen Yuanshan walked to the second floor, glanced at the residential door on the left side of the second floor, and saw black Yin Qi emanating from inside to the outside of the door. Then, Chen Yuanshan led us toward the third floor.

Jiang Yulin lived in an old-style apartment building with eight buildings in total, each seven stories high.

On the second floor halfway up, Chen Yuanshan stopped and looked at the residential door in the middle of the third floor. I noticed that this door emitted a heavy Yin Qi, and within the Yin Qi, there was a strong resentment.

I observed that the colors of Yin Qi and resentment were different—Yin Qi was black, and resentment was black and red. The combination made it challenging to distinguish between the two.

"Senior, there seem to be issues with this building."

Xu Yan looked at the door on the third floor and then glanced at the left-side door downstairs, telling Chen Yuanshan.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

"Continue going up."

After saying this to the three of us, Chen Yuanshan led us to the fourth floor.

Upon reaching the fourth floor, I noticed that the door on the left side of the fourth floor also emitted black Yin Qi from inside to outside.

"We... we're back to the second floor again."

Jiang Yulin, with a frightened expression, pointed at the number two on the wall after noticing it. She quickly walked to Chen Yuanshan's side, reaching out her right hand to tightly grasp his left arm.

Seeing Jiang Yulin holding onto him, Chen Yuanshan seemed a bit embarrassed.

"This is too strange."

I mumbled as I looked at the floor number, feeling nervous.

As we climbed up again, Xu Yan carved a tick mark below the number two on the wall with her peachwood sword.

When we thought we had reached the fourth floor again, we found that the floor number on the wall had changed back to two. And below this number two, there was the tick mark Xu Yan made.

"Senior, it seems we are trapped as well."

Smiling fearlessly, Xu Yan looked at the floor number, speaking to Chen Yuanshan.

Chen Yuanshan turned around, opened the bag hanging on my chest, and took out two talismans. He handed one to me and kept one for himself.

"The problem with this building lies on the second and third floors. As long as we climb past the third floor to the fourth floor, we'll end up on the second floor again. He Zhihui, take this talisman and paste it on the door in the middle of the third floor."

Chen Yuanshan pointed at the talisman in my hand and instructed me.

"Senior, do you have anything to do?"

Noticing Chen Daochang looking at me without saying anything, I asked nervously.

"Close your eyes. I'll help you open your celestial eye."

Chen Yuanshan took out two willow leaves and told me to close my eyes. He wiped my eyelids with the willow leaves while chanting the Maoshan Ghost Eye technique mantra.

"You can open your eyes now."

After Chen Yuanshan's words, I opened my eyes and looked at the building. I could see that it was indeed enveloped in a black aura, looking eerie.
